My mom was a resident at Christ Church Care Center (CCCC). Mom had a stroke and after rehab she needed more care. We began to look for assisted living. We were lucky to find Christ Church Care Center. The staff at CCCC are patient, considerate and make a difficult situation less traumatic. Staff was sent to my mom’s rehab to evaluate her. This made the transition from rehab to assisted living easier for my mom and her family. CCCC was ready to meet her needs the moment she was transferred to the facility. We found the staff readily available to answer questions, or texts. We highly recommend CCCC for assisted living.

Many thanks to Robin and Shay for everything they’re doing to make my mother-in-law’s stay in Assisted Living a comfortable one. We appreciate their extra efforts to keep her fed and clean. Her room is cozy and warm, and we are always greeted with a smile from their staff members. Thanks so much for keeping mom safe!

My sister-in-law has been at COC Clinton Township since October 20, 2025 after a week in the hospital and short term Rehab at another facility. I cannot tell you enough how pleased my husband and I both are with the care she receives. The nurses, the aides, The admissions staff, the social worker, the kitchen staff, the activities staff and even the staff that cleans the floors and the rooms are all absolutely phenomenal. Everyone is friendly and helpful. They do everything they can to accommodate all of my sister-in-law’s needs and I see them interacting the same with my sister-in-law’s roommate and other residence there. My sister-in-law is doing so much better than she has done in a long time. We attribute it to the great level of care she gets, and the fact that they have a wonderful menu that includes protein at every meal. They have a complete and varied menu, and if my sister-in-law does not care for the daily offerings, they have a wide variety of things to choose from. The cooking for the most part is great home cooking and not food just reheated out of a Gordon’s box. The activities are absolutely A+ and the residents can do as much as little as they would like to. The facility is clean and very well cared for. You will not find a better place anywhere for your loved one!!! My husband and I are absolutely thrilled and blessed that our sister is so close to our home and is being so well cared for!!! If I could give it 10 stars or 100 stars I would but sadly we are limited to a five star review!!! Shelly and Mel Raab

Our experience with the Church of Christ facility has been truly exceptional. The rehabilitation team is phenomenal and demonstrates a high level of skill, compassion, and dedication to each resident’s progress and well-being. The nursing staff genuinely cares about the residents and consistently goes above and beyond to ensure comfort, dignity, and quality care. Each staff member takes the time to build meaningful relationships, not only with the residents but also with their families. That personal connection made a tremendous difference for our family and gave us peace of mind throughout the entire process. The care conferences were extremely informative and well-organized. The team”including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Admissions, and the Business Office”was knowledgeable, attentive, and compassionate. Every conversation reflected a shared commitment to putting the resident first. My family and I researched many facilities offering rehabilitation, assisted living, and long-term skilled nursing care, and we are confident that we made the best choice. We are truly grateful for the outstanding care, communication, and support provided by the entire team at Church of Christ.

If I could give Church of Christ Care Center more stars, I would. Everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE at this rehab facility has taken exemplary care of my mother as she regained her strength while healing from a fall, deep wound and suffering from dementia. There are too many wonderful people to name, but here are just a few (sorry for any misspellings): El Samma, who took the time to comfort her, bathed her and made her feel needed, Shawndalyn, who gave her wonderful energy and attention, Vernicia, who blew her kisses from the nurse's station no matter who she was with or what she was in the middle of doing, Rachel, who included her in activities and always made her feel special, Tomika, who greeted us with a smile and professionalism, Erica, who oversaw the most caring team of nurses, and Roger, mom's social worker who made sure she received the best possible care that made sense for our family's geographic location. I also have to shout out J.J. who always had a friendly word and smiley faces on water cups that put big smiles on our faces. I know I'm not mentioning everyone, and forgetting important people in her care: wound care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, nurse technicians and more. We are so grateful for the professional, passionate level of care my mom received. Thank you for everyone. I will say that my mom loved the food and the dining staff accommodated her with a smile. For visitors, FYI the coffee is delicious! Also, personally, I'll miss seeing everyone, especially Star (IYKYK). xo

The nurses & nurse aides did an excellent job of taking care of my wife while she was in this Church of Christ Care Center Nursing Facility in Clinton Twp for 5 days from 21-26 July 2025 (for Hospice of Michigan Respite Care so I could get a short break). The facility is a little older than some but is clean, the equipment works and the nurses & nurse aides were all on the ball doing their job & making sure my wife was being taken care of. In my conversations with them they were all professional & had mostly all been doing their jobs for quite a number of years. Even the new aide did her job very efficiently & had a positive & upbeat attitude. My wife has Dementia, is totally bed ridden, needs her briefs to be changed throughout the day due to incontinence and requires assistance eating & drinking at times (at times is unable to hold a spoon or a cup). I came by to check on my wife every other day. They kept her changed, her medications given to her & made sure to help her with drinking & eating as necessary. In spite of the summer heat outside (90+) the rooms were kept comfortably cool. The concierge lady who greats you when you first enter the facility was always very helpful. As with placing your loved one in any nursing facility for any length of time, check in with the nurse who will be directly taking care of them & make sure they know the exact medications as well as any special needs such as if they need assistance eating & drinking water, etc. Also check in and visit your loved one (requires a quick sign in the visitor's log & a COVID smile at the camera style temperature check) at least every few days to make sure there are no issues or unforeseen problems that are cropping up. All in a good facility to keep your loved one in. Just be sure to do your part to inform the staff that will be taking care of your loved one & check in on them every few days.

Many thanks to all the nurses and aides who helped Dennis the last week of his life. He was in room 413B. You were all caring and showed genuine empathy and concern toward him. God bless you all for your caring and excellent teamwork by the staff.

Scott K the adminstarator is patient focused and his passion and dedication to our local seniors is inspiring! The nursing staff was amazing and attentive to my great grandmothers needs. I was happy with the care provided my grandmother during her last year of struggling with dementia. Thank you again!

Good points and bad points: Good points- Mel the manager is very nice and will help with anything, it is 'Christian' based with church services, there is a nice outdoor patio/garden area to relax in, the PT department is good and everyone in it is nice. Bad points- the aides and nurse were fooling around singing and dancing when my Mom had to go to the bathroom and was made to 'wait', my Mom was shoved back in her wheelchair when she didn't move fast enough by an aide, was yelled at by aides when our family intervened too much, any repairs in the room took months to get fixed, the food was 'ok' and if you had a request it was usually forgotten after a while, the rooms are always slightly dirty. The overall 'vibe' in this place is of slowness and an overall not really caring that much. Its probably ok for short term but long term...meh.

If you are looking for an Assisted Living facility for a loved one, save yourself some time and put Church of Christ Assisted Living Center (ALC) at the top of your list. There are many "fancier" places out there, but you probably will not find one with the level of care and compassion shown by the Church of Christ staff. I know that I didn't, and I visited/interviewed more than 20 facilities before visiting Church of Christ ALC. I knew within minutes that this was the best place for my elderly friend, and I have not been disappointed. The building's layout makes it easy for residents to navigate without becoming confused or lost, and the residents' rooms are spacious enough without being overwhelming. Rather than one large dining room resembling a military mess hall, each wing has a separate, nicely decorated dining area. This is so much less threatening to new residents; plus, the kitchen staff is able to learn each resident's preferences. The food is excellent! If you go to visit your loved one during a meal, you'll probably find yourself salivating. They don't offer multiple main course options at each meal but if a resident really doesn't like a particular dish, they can opt for a something like a hamburger, salad, chicken tenders, etc. The kitchen staff is remarkably talented, attentive and kind to the residents, something that I definitely did not observe at other facilities. There are several common areas where residents can gather to visit, watch TV, or participate in numerous daily activities. The Activities staff is amazingly creative and always has something enjoyable planned. And yes, if you are visiting, you can participate, too! You really haven't lived until you've played balloon bat-a-ball. The Aides take the time to learn each resident's idiosyncrasies, allowing them to respond quickly and with compassion to their needs. This is especially true in the Memory Care unit, where familiarity and patience are critical to maintaining each resident's sense of ease. I personally like the way that the Memory Care residents are usually kept together in their dayroom. While some people may find this restrictive, it promotes the residents' sense of community and security, which sitting alone in their rooms does not do. It also allows the Aides to monitor them carefully for signs of distress or medical emergencies with no time wasted by having to travel up and down the hallway. Everyone I have had the privilege of meeting at the ALC has been incredibly knowledgeable, professional and - most important - caring and kind. From the Nursing/Aides contingent to Housekeeping, Maintenance, Activities, Culinary and the amazing Concierges who know EVERYTHING, this is truly a great group of human beings. Taking care of those who need assistance is not an easy task, and they cheerfully do it day in and day out. They collectively made my friend's transition to the ALC and later to the memory care unit much smoother than I dared hope. These wonderful people do all the little things to make everyone as comfortable as possible - like bringing a resident a drink of water or small snack in the middle of the night; holding their hand when they are frightened; patiently waiting for them to take their meds; or any number of things we all may take for granted but are huge in making the residents understand that they are cared for and loved. I am truly humbled by the patience and caring shown by the staff. Is Church of Christ ALC perfect? Of course not. But it's as close as you can come as far as I've seen.

My dad is a new resident in assisted living memory care unit. So far he has been there 2 weeks. It took a few days for his care plan to be established and followed correctly but after a few days the plan is working. I have camera installed and all I see is the staff being EXTREMELY caring and kind. They never talk down to dad and are helpful and supportive. One of the daily care assistants thought she was blood in his urine and she informed the medical team who caught an early UTI, talked to me the day it was discovered, got a test and results, got the on staff dr to examine him and prescribe antibiotics all in the first day it was discovered. This is be saving my dad a trip to the hospital. Last night during a sundowners episode the staff made him a PBJ and a glass of milk in the middle of the night to settle him Down and get him back to sleep. Super sweet. This community does Senior care/ assisted living / memory care as it should be done!

I have been a financial supporter of this care community for many years, & my father in law is currently a resident in the assisted living building. The staff is very caring, the minister enthusiastically attends to the residents' spiritual needs, & the talented chef serves delicious meals. I also have a few friends who reside in the independent senior housing who love living in this community.

My mother received excellent care at the Church of Christ Care Center Assisted Living Facility. The last few years of life were spent there, and she seemed to thrive. She lived to be 99 years old, and had a peaceful passing under hospice at this facility.

Both my Mother in Law and Mother have spent time at Church of Christ rehab center and our family has found the staff, the facility, the food, and the care to be very good. My Mother in Law suffered from brain aneurysm surgery and my 95 year old Mother suffered from a broken femur which was surgically repaired. I looked at (6) other facilities on the East side and Church of Christ was the only one that did not have the pungent odor of a typical senior care and rehab facility, it was the only care facility that allowed visitors to visit 24/7, and it was the only one that allowed the patients personal care givers or friends from home to stay with them any or all of the time. Unfortunately no Senior care/rehab facilities are perfect and, yes, sometimes it takes quite a while for a response when the call button is pressed, sometimes the food is not a warm as it should be when it is delivered to the room, but all in all when comparing Church of Christ to the other facilities in the area at same cost range, I believe C of C wins, hands down!!

I visited the nursing home yesterday. The staff were very nice. I want to send a special thank you to Nurse Janice. She was very helpful and kind. I also noticed that she interacted very well with dementia residents. As a retired nursing home DON with a passion for memory care, it was AWESOME to see how she handled everything that was going on, while assisting me, and engaging with residents with a smile! I was very impressed with her. Thank you.
