Beautifully renovated however the meals served for the elderly and disabled population that live here are not appropriate and have a lot of salt in them are bland minimal budget. When calling for assistance the staff can be rude

Since living here for 8 years now, this facility has gone downhill and I don't believe that Management should be doing the Cooking. Also, I am a 100% Disabled Veteran and want to fly my American flag. 3/30/25. Update on kitchen staff. The kitchen staff is more professional, and competent , the food has improved since we now have professional cooks! Cook Jeff always has a response, if I ask him a question. Jeff does come out to see residents periodically, which residents appreciate very much!

We came to visit my sister in law and her husband. Staff are so friendly, everyone says hello. The food is incredible, servings are plenty and delicious. Lots of activities for everyone. Very pleased.

Can’t say enough wonderful things about the facility and the staff. They are so welcoming and make you feel at home. They are very kind and attentive to the needs of the residents. The facility is beautiful and clean, with many options for the community to engage with each other! I would like to Thank Adisa and Jennifer who made the transition very easy for everyone. My parents are very happy with their decision to move here and would recommend it to anyone looking for senior community living!

I can’t recommend Kittery Estates strongly enough if you are considering a next home for your loved one. After a 6 month search for the right place for my mom, which took us to 7 different independent or assisted living facilities in the greater Seacoast area, we are thrilled to have chosen Kittery Estates. Through this search we found that many things are the same or similar across facilities with small variations in activities/meals etc but the thing that changes the most is culture. When it comes to culture, Kittery Estates is unmatched, and at the nucleus of this culture, the beating heart and soul of the facility, is Jennifer Montplaisir, Community Sales Manager. From the moment we met Jen it was apparent that here was someone different, someone who truly loved her work and the community members she supports and who gives her all to ensuring their quality of life and happiness. Jen’s attitude and care permeates throughout the building and shows up in everyone else who we meet. She is kind, thoughtful, smart, creative and obviously fiercely protective of those under her care. Every time I walk out of the door I know I am leaving my mom under Jen’s watchful eye and because of this I can relax. Also I’d like to recognize Melissa, Mike, Adisa and Damon who have been wonderful during mom’s transition into Kittery Estates. I couldn’t ask for more and in fact look forward to my visits as I simply enjoy the energy I feel when I walk in. For those who have spent time in like facilities, you will know that this is not always the case. If I could give this place six stars I would, and I’m so grateful we found it. 6 month update: better than I even knew! Mom has really settled in and is loving it.

Great place, only complaint is The Housekeeping, They vacuum and clean the bathroom very nicely but dusting the furniture leaves alot to be desired.

Mom just moved into this independent living facility. The one bedroom is spacious and laid out nicely. The property is very clean and seems well organized. The staff has been amazingly helpful, friendly, and available for all of our needs. We can update more once she has been there a bit and used the transportation and has had a chance to explore all that is offered here. First impressions are great though.

Pleasant place visually. Well maintained, nice apartments, meals are great. Pamela, at the front desk is amazing. She is the ONLY staff member who would speak to us and spark a conversation. She would always tell us how my father in law was doing, if and when he would eat in the dining room, and cried with us when he passed away. Any time we would visit and she wasn’t there, we wouldn’t get greeted, many times we could walk in, never sign in, and never be asked who we were visiting. Dining staff were always very nice. Lots of activities for the residents, bingo, music etc. my father in law passed away unexpectedly from natural causes. We were swift in removing his belongings, five days later, so they would be able to clean and re rent the apartment. We received a bill a month later saying we owed rent. Called corporate and they said they would take care of it. Then we received another bill for two month's rent, and threatening to take legal action including eviction. Then we received a third bill minusing the two months rent BUT, charging us for the 30 days after his death. When we questioned it, we were told by The general manager that you didn’t give a thirty day notice. How can you give a thirty day notice when you don’t know someone is going to die?! This is common practice for the Holiday/Atria companies, so beware. If a loved one needs an independent living facility, I will be sure NOT to send them to any of their facilities.

Just moved my sister-in-law and her husband out of Kittery Estates, as they now need nursing care. In the 2+ years they were here, they received a little help when they needed it; even though this is an independent living facility. Very well kept, with a friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Seems like a nice place. Visually interesting and convenient. Seems like they offer a pleasant environment. I expect people needing this place might resent the fact they need it, and review it harshly.

We helped my in-laws move into Kittery Estates in July of 2013. We enjoyed the immaculate facility, the friendly staff, the abundance of activities and the ease of life it afforded. I particularly enjoyed the football party on the big screen upstairs that included treats from the kitchen, George the helpful maintenance man and the easy and inexpensive taxi service available to take you to medical appointments. When my father-in-law passed in 2014, we had a wonderful memorial service right on the premises with the assistance of the staff. The only thing we would change is that the noontime meal, the big one of the day, is very long, but it is a social time for the residents who don't seem to mind. I recommend anyone look at Kittery Estates for a quality independent living experience.
