We saw our family member today and enjoyed our visit! Found her when we entered, in a group of other clients being lead in hymn singing. She definitely seemed to be enjoying the experience! The staff we interacted with were kind and upbeat. A nice visit!

My brother is a resident of the Sandy River Center. My friend and I planned a small birthday party for him. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. They helped us with silverware and enjoyed cake and ice cream with us. Everyone said hello to us and treated us like family. The center is beautiful. I'm a retired RN, but I would love to work there!

Everyone is always so nice and helpful.. Even short staffed they try their hardest to make everyone comfortable.
February 2023
The 5 staff members I encountered (2 at the desk, a CNA, a janitor, and a nurse) were all attentive whether I was approaching them for assistance or just walking by in the hallway. It makes a visitor feel validated when staff takes an interest & takes the time to engage and/or address ones needs in such a friendly manner.

When the leadership has cut staff to the point they have an automated kiosk to sign in guests, you can be sure that they cut corners with resident care as well. I walked in on my loved one bare naked, lying cockeyed in bed, with no nurse available at 11am, long past the time they should have everyone situated. I had to sit him up and cover him. All this in a room as drab and clinical as any third world hospital. The only thing missing was a sign that says "would you hurry up and die already?" This was not always the case. Once this place was vibrant and well staffed. Residents were cared for because they had the personnel to make it happen. However, whatever international conglomerate is now in charge seems content to force the already overworked nursing staff to do even more with less and less. It's not the staff's fault they can't be in three places at once. This problem sits squarely with the upper management, who clearly view residents as dollar sign$ not humans. Shame on the LeAdErShIp at Sandy River Nursing Home! Y'all are disgusting.

My Dad was here for 2 weeks for rehab. They were VERY short staffed, and it showed in their care and in timely responses. He was there a week before he was even "admitted" , a referral to a specialist was clearly written out in his discharge papers from the hospital, yet it was over a week before anyone read it! ( and if I hadn't asked, who knows how long it would have been ignored?) The referral never got done till after he left there, and with many phone calls to them to remind them. They "forgot' his supper twice. It was rarely what was on the menu, and usually cold. The rooms were very cold and we were told the heat hadn't been turned on yet. And, in the last 2 days he was there, he had his watch and new slippers stolen from his room during the night. Everyone 'looked' for them, but to this date, have never been found. Slippers can easily be replaced, but his watch was an older one that he has had for years and loved it. The few nurses he did work with were awesome ( but they were not full time), the PT group was excellent, a few of the CNAs went above and beyond to help him. Hopefully they will become full staffed again, but until then, the nurses and CNAs that are there, need to be commended for their dedication, as they are very overworked and stretched way to thin. Overall I would say it's Management that dropped the ball. I only hope if he has to go there again, things have improved...
