Searching for the right place for your loved one can be very difficult and overwhelming but I must say, Bianca at Charter Senior Living of Towson takes her time with you. The personalized experience that Bianca gave was a chef's kiss and she is truly a gem. Not only was she knowledgeable about her facility but she also provided me with resourceful information that would benefit my father, such as Veteran's assistance among other things. Bianca even sent me a personalized email that included a video of her talking about our meeting and my father. It made me feel that she truly cared about my father's well-being and for that, Charter Senior Living of Towson will have a warm spot in my heart. Thank you Bianca for all that you do for the Senior population and their families!

Charter has a very professional, caring staff. I was treated warmly by everyone I met. I was all ready to go there but there were no vacancies when I was ready to move my family member. I'd like to share a few words about my experience with Charter Senior Living of Towson. My mother moved to Charter in September 2024. She was 99+ at that time. Although transitioning from her own home wasn't easy, she adjusted to her new life and has celebrated two more birthdays! Charter is a lovely, well managed, smaller facility and has more of a "family" feel than one might find at a larger place. I see how hard all of the staff work to take care of the residents and that they strive to provide kindness and dignity with every interaction. Charter also does a super job with the practical things like housekeeping, maintenance, dining, activities, medication delivery and more. There's no doubt that providing quality senior care is extremely challenging and that everyone has different expectations. Mom and I give Charter high marks and we're very happy to have found them!

Update: Over a year later, we are still very grateful for all the staff at Charter. As our loved one has progressed from assisted living to memory care, all the team has continued to be incredibly warm, supportive, knowledgeable, and attentive. We love Charter Senior Living of Towson! Our loved one moved in a few weeks ago, and the CSL team has been welcoming, caring, and supportive. They’ve created an inclusive homelike atmosphere where the residents and their families feel comfortable and valued. One thing in particular I really appreciated is that the team immediately adopted a suggestion I made for an activity that our loved one might enjoy. Caring for our loved one together feels like a real partnership with the CSL team.

Once again, I wanted to give Charter Senior Living a 5-star review! My mom, who is now 94, just moved to Charter last month. Bianca Davis, Director of Sales and Marketing, went above and beyond to help coordinate every detail of my mom's transition to Charter from rehab. I appreciated everything that she had done to guide me through the process and to make my mom feel welcome to the community. My mom had previously lived at Charter for 2 months (for respite care after surgery), and Bianca kept in touch with me over the last couple of years to check in on her. When the time came to move mom to assisted living, Bianca was right there to help. She has been absolutely wonderful and I am so grateful for her support. From the very first day, I knew that my mom was going to be well taken care of. Since mom had lived there previously, many of the staff members remembered her and have been very welcoming. The nurse managers, Shanika and Isabell, Ty (Care Coordinator), and all of the nurses and aides have all been super helpful and attentive to my mom’s needs as well, which I very much appreciate! Additionally, the community has been newly renovated and is bright, cheerful, and has a vibrancy that is so nice to see amongst the residents. There are plenty of activities for the residents to participate in, if they so choose. A special shout out to Terri and Gouri at the front desk, as they are always so pleasant and kind. Thanks again to the entire management and staff at Charter, who work hard every day to take care of their residents!

Our mother is a resident of the memory care unit at Charter Senior Living of Towson. My brother and I could not have made a better choice for Mom. The care she receives is outstanding! The entire staff is so professional and caring. They have become family. Mom has her hair done once a month onsite at the beauty salon. There are so many activities like the live music on Fridays for Happy Hour. They celebrate birthdays, holidays and have cookouts during the warm weather. She is a caring, energetic, imaginative leader and a staunch advocate for her residents and her team. The community is well run under her leadership and the residents are well looked after. Her team of aides, nurses, etc is also caring, attentive and happy to help however they can. Our family is really grateful for the good care they gave my mother during her time there. From the executive director to the kitchen staff and everyone else, they showed great care and responsiveness for a difficult time my mother was having / needing assistance. The nursing staff and the caregivers who administered meds (Shanika, Isabel and Dana) in particular were so great. This was the second family member to come thru Charter, and it says something that many of the staff from the first stay 9 years ago are still on staff. Also, the team does a great job with activities to engage the community and the food had my brother wanting meals there frequently! A lovely caring place!

A special shout out to SANDY JOHNSON, director of Memory Care! She never hesitates to answer any question, and goes the 'extra mile' to get to know each resident and offer and initiate ideas to help them acclimate. I love her 'open door' policy and feel I can pop in most any time for a friendly chat. Actually in the nine months we have been there, I have been very pleased with all the nurses and aides in Memory Care. My mother has been at Charter in memory care for about a year. The current memory care director, Sandy, has been wonderful! She is engaged with all of the residents and truly gets to know them. Just visited Charter Senior in Towson and met with Bianca. What an amazing experience. She had my 85 yo dad eating out of her hands before she could even tell him all the amenities and positives about living in an assisted living facility. Obviously he was very reluctant to the idea prior to today, and she completely changed his mind. Our mother was at a bigger independent facility for 14 years and then had a fall. The facility could not accommodate us with their assisted living. I did a fair amount of research to find a new facility. We worked with Bianca who helped us with a plan to get exactly what we wanted as far as unit size and room location. My mother really liked the facility location and the smaller, homey size of Charter Living Towson. One of the main draws for us was the outdoor garden and trees. We are excited about the renovations that are in process now. There are plenty of activities for residents. We love many people who work there but I have to say that Terri at the front desk is pretty terrific. She has been there for years and pretty much has a handle on everything going on there. She has helped us navigate through every part of this process including my mother's recent passing. I cannot say enough about her!! If I would have one area for improvement, it would be the food, although she loved the ice cream!!

Deciding to place my dad in assisted care was a heavy burden for my family and myself. Thankfully, the feeling of heaviness lifted soon after my father moved into Charter. I quickly found that the people who work at Charter treat my father like a family member. They inquire about his life, interests and values and base activities around his needs and wants. He can be shy, but they have found clever ways to coax him to participate. When dad moved in initially, I visited almost daily. I found all the staff to be friendly and so warm, but also highly professional and dedicated to all aspects of his wellness. I feel confident that dad is receiving the best care possible. I have full trust that my dad is in a safe, warm, loving environment where he can thrive despite his mental and physical impairments. I am so grateful to the staff at Charter. They are truly an exceptional group of individuals. My initial burden has been replaced with a sense of peace knowing he is cared for and loved in his new home.

Placing a loved one in an assisted living facility is a very difficult decision. I did my research and settled on Charter Towson and one other facility. I toured both. Hands down, Charter Towson was the home for my dad. There are many boxes needing to be checked, but the most important is the people. And, I love them all!!! Terry works the front desk with her fashionable side kick, Gucci (her adorable dog). The residents absolutely love Terry and Gucci! Bianca is so accommodating and kind. Shanicka is a top notch head nurse and the list goes on and on. My dad has the sweetest little studio with huge windows overlooking beautiful landscaping. He also has a lovely hanging plant, a bird feeder and a bird bath. He was allowed to place these items on shepherd hooks right outside his window. He loves watching the birds. Most of all, he is happy.

My family and I in looking for the right memory care location for our mother visited Charter Senior Living of Towson and it became our #1 choice. I researched and visited 10 facilities and visited Charter of Towson twice. Bianca was so warm, compassionate and understanding of the emotion we were feeling in looking for a place for our mother. Even before we finalized our decision, Bianca stayed in contact, suggested resources and most of all asked questions about our mom, her interest, her personality her background, going back to her early years. Of all the places I visited Bianca was the only person who wanted to know who our mom is as a person. She set a very high bar for other facilities, which they did not meet. The staff was so attentive, patient and caring for the residents and a large number of them have been at Charter for 3 to 20+ years which meant a lot to us, that there is not a lot of staff turnover and they know, care for the residents and foster a family environment. I anticipate that my mother will be safe and happy at Charter and my family has such a sense of peace that picking Charter is the right place for our mother.

The staff at Charter Towson really care about the residents. The caregiving staff as well as the med techs are all very friendly and they do a very good job at making sure the needs of the residents are met. The Charter nurses are excellent, very responsive, and they provide good follow up. Everyone you meet at Charter Towson are so friendly and helpful from the front desk staff to the housekeeping and maintenance staff and the management staff. The building is kept very clean and spotless. The Dining staff are so kind and patient with the residents and they make each meal a very pleasant experience. The food is also very good! The activity staff does an incredible job on fun events for residents and family and they offer many activities. The activity staff really go to a lot of work to make everything so nice. The residents are happy and chatting with each other. When you visit Charter of Towson, it gives you the feeling of a happy place that is buzzing with life.

Charter Senior living was a God send to me and my mother. My Mother started her residency with Charter when she was 92 years old and lived, very happily there, for 9 years. Charter was my choice because she lived out of town at the time. So, a lot of pressure on me to find the right place. Upon entering Charter for the first time for a visit/tour, it was so inviting and the staff was so very nice - I knew right away I had found the right place for my mother. It looked very homey and comfortable. Over the years, each and every one of the staff performed so well and routinely told me how much they loved my mother, and she loved them right back! My mother was strong willed and had a mind of her and could be quite a challenge.suffering from advanced dementia, she was not herself. Through it all, the staff was so kind and good to her.always, rising to each challenge with understanding and kindness. From the Executive Director to the entire staff, my mother and I had such a great support system through-out her many years at Charter. Mother passed away last year but I remain so connected to Charter for all they did for my mother over the years and all the support they give me..I had shed many tears over the years as my mother’s health declined and was always supported by the director and staff. Sally, my dear mother, received the very best care for all the years she was a resident. I could lay my head down every night and know that my mother was safe and secure. My mother was 101 years old when she passed and I chose to have a memorial service at Charter for the staff because they had become "our family". That is how much a think of Charter! We had gone to Charter Senior Living Towson for an author event on 11/17/22. It was just an amazing experience from the second we walked in the door until we left 2 1/2 hours later. The first things we noticed was the cleanliness of the facility. Then every resident and employee we encountered were all smiling and happy. We were greeted by Steve Gale (Community Relations Director) who was our contact person who in turn introduced us to Amanda Ward (Life Enrichment Director). Amanda could not have been any more pleasant and helpful all the while being professional. She had the area set up and ready yo go where my wife and I were going to meet with the resident book club after they had read our book THE LONGEST ROPE HAS AN END. After talking about our book there was a Q & A session where the residents were fully engaged with us in asking questions and telling us their opinion of our story. At the conclusion of the event we also has the opportunity again to talk with Amanda as well as Bianca Davis (Director of Sales and Marketing). Both Amanda and Bianca asked us questions about the process of writing our book. The meet the author event could not have run and smoother. We were thankful for Charter Senior Living of Towson for inviting us to this event.
