My Experience with my mother at Himalayan Elderly Care part of Caring Companions Inc My mother was a resident at the Himalayan from June 1919- February 10, 2024. I choose this facility because (1) It had a good reputation, (2) There was no odor (3) My mom was able to have a single room, (4) The facility was 10 minutes away from my home and (5) My mother liked the facility and (6) The owners were nice and interested in my mother During her stay, the caregivers seem nice. During COVID, one caregiver was extremely caring and tried to keep the residents mobile, clean, hydrated, and stimulated. The owners never denied the concerns of the family and if there was a problem with the caregiver, the issues were resolved very quickly. My mom liked Sarita RN, one of the owners. Sarita could make my mom do things that the family could not make her do especially when my mom started deteriorating. During my mom hospice experience, I appreciated the daily support I received. When I could not come to see my mom, Sarita was there every day and giving me update. She made special food to encourage my mother to eat. The owner made sure her staff turned my mom every two hours. My mother never had an odor and they kept her very comfortable. I am so glad that I choose Himalyan Elderly Care and would always think fondly for the care they gave my mother. Vivian Omagbemi

The staff is like family. They treat each client with respect and love. This home is the BEST you will find. Everyone is accomodating and devoted to the clients, their needs and their respected families! Caring Companion is the only place for my mom!

My mom passed in February 2021. I can't thank Sangita, Sarita, and Sunita enough for helping me manage the situation. Gracious, kind, caring -everything. They were great. My brother continues in their care and I am very comfortable with that. Sangita, Sarita, and Sunita are wonderful. I needed to quickly move my 49 year-old brother (short-term memory issues) as he had been downgraded from nursing-level care to assisted-living care. Luckily, Caring Companion was one of the first homes I visited. Quiet, comfortable, and they were very willing to provide his care and accommodate his level of independence. Getting to know them over the three month transition, I felt very comfortable asking if they could care for my mom. Her dementia had reached way past a level that allowed her to live alone and that reality was incredibly hard to deal with, process, handle, etc. They were incredibly welcoming. About a year in, Mom broke her hip and has refused to walk since. They took it in stride, working with her wheel chair needs and everything that goes with not walking. It will be about four years in January 2019 for both of them and I am very happy knowing they are in good hands.

Ms. Sunita has been taking of my brother for the past 14 + years. Around 5 years ago, one doctor at the Holy Cross hospital in Silver Spring, MD said that my brother Hien Van Nguyen would pass away in 3 months due to his condition that he needed to feed by the tube to his stomach. We needed to prepare the funeral for Hien. But Ms Sunita told me sometimes her patients lived longer than what the doctors predicted. I took her words and let Hien to stay under her care (Instead of putting him in the nursing home). Hien has been living until now happy and is still smiling. I went to visit Hien about 3 years ago from California and Ms Sumita treated Hien as one of her brothers in the family. I could not believe that she is another "Mother Teresa from India" who dedicates herself to the poor and the needed. Hien is very lucky to be under Ms Sunita's care. If I become disable and need a group home to live, I would not mind to live under Ms Sumita's care, provided i will be qualified to move there. Over all, this group home deserves an A++ for loving care and service.

My Dad has been at Muriel House for almost a year now. He is content there. The staff is conscientious and caring. The owners are extremely accommodating to requests from family members. We are delighted.

My mom has been at CC for 4 1/2 years and has been as happy as she is able to be there. She is well taken care of, kept clean and fed with appetizing and nutritious food, and I am alerted when there is anything she needs. It is convenient for me to visit her. They caregivers are kind to her. They are willing to work with families regarding financial arrangements which is greatly appreciated on my end.

Thanks to Sunita's management and the outstanding staff at Trudies Home, I can rest assured my mother is well cared for and safe. When she was diagnosed with dementia and could no longer live independently in her own home, I visited over 40 assisted living facilities in the DC metro area. This wonderful group home is a gem! The small intimate setting is perfect for her needs and the other residents are like her extended family. It is clean, well organized and the home cooked meals are great. Mother has lived there nearly six years and we just celebrated her 90th birthday, thanks to the professional and TLC she receives there.
