This place has thought of Everything! The attention to details by the staff really impressed me: the dining area was pre-set for the wheelchair residents stationed in the front with their favorite drinks already waiting, the beauty salon was so wonderful for a regular shave or hair wash and blow dry, the residents looked well-taken care of and content, the activity room upstairs had some lively games and conversations going, the spacious halls were both wheelchair wide and had multiple stations around each area with a chair and an outlet for cozy, private space while still around people, the menu was very impressive, the staff were very attentive to the residents, the Director of Sales Melissa went out of her way to answer every question and provide guidance and expertise on the various aspects of caring for the elderly and the brightness and beauty of the whole place was beautiful too

I met with Melissa at HeartLands in Severna Park to tour for my dad, who needs assisted living/memory care. I had been to 3 or 4 other facilities in the area and while we didn't end up choosing HeartLands it was definitely not a reflection of how nice it was. Beautifully renovated, lots of activities and programs, inclusion of memory care patients into the general assisted living spaces when appropriate, and quite reasonably priced. We ultimately chose a small private home with just 3 other residents, but HeartLands was a definite consideration. Thank you Melissa!

What a fabulous place for seniors. This is an extremely clean facility, that smells like a 5 star hotel. The staff have been amazing, kind and caring. So happy that my Stepmother has found a home away from home. The only con is that I wish there was an attendant in the dinning hall at all times during meals. This might have been a one off, but just an observation.

Heartlands has been a breath of fresh air. It is so nice to know your loved one is in a safe environment and able to be as independent as possible. If I could leave a 6-star review I would! My mother has been so very happy living at Heartlands Severna Park the past year and a half. The smaller assisted living gives a family feel to the community. The staff truly cares about each resident and their well being. I've seen med techs give hugs, caregivers visit residents during their time off, and administration go above and beyond the call of duty. My mother and her whole family is so grateful for Heartland's Severna Park. They're the best!

I have a married couple I come in throughout the week to spend some time with, and I love it here. Everything is so clean and organized, the staff is wonderful always upbeat and smiling. Housekeeping does an excellent job the whole place always looks and smells so clean, unlike some other facilities I've been to that smell like urine. They have tons of activities, live music, comedy shows, movies, day outings etc they do all kinds of stuff. They even have a space out back for those who love to garden when the weather gets warmer. They always get three and four course meals breakfast lunch and dinner. They also have a snack bar that is open 24 hours with fresh fruits and other healthy choices to snack on and they always have fresh fruit infused water available on ice. I love everything about this place and I would absolutely place my family member here or even myself at some point. I forgot to mention they even have a church upstairs, a beauty salon, they also have a hot tub that is easy for elderly people to get into and they can relax and enjoy the water jets. There's so much wonderful qualities about this place you guys should come check it out!!!!!

Heartlands definitely puts the heart into this Assisted Living Facility. My mom has only been a resident for a few months, but first impression was a key for me. Walking into the facility you can see how much the staff cares and are happy to be working there. The residents are happy and involved in activities such as games, outings, family dinner events and fantastic food! The staff is happy to help you out with any questions or concerns you may have, and they keep you updated on everything from menu items, special events and bad weather updates when mother nature has her own plans. I highly recommend this place, having peace of mind knowing mom is well cared for and happy makes the move to Assisted Living for a family member comforting.

However, we have found a similarly lovely center with much larger room, much more like her room at home, I think it will be an easier transition with a more similar surrounding. I visited several Assisted Living facilities for my loved one prior to choosing Heartlands in Severna Park. My decision was based on several reasons of what they had to offer in comparison to the other facilities. I could not be happier and confident with my decision. ALL of the staff at Heartlands are truly wonderful and dedicated to providing exceptional care to their residents. The ladies at the front desk could not be kinder or more helpful any time I call or when I visit my loved one. The residents look happy and well cared for. The rooms are lovely and well kept. There are are always festivities going on whether it be live music, ice cream socials, family days, recognizing residents birthday's, holidays and so much more. There is a transport bus for residents to go grocery shopping, to Walmart, out to lunch or some fun excursion. Naturally, life changes for residents to go from home to an Assisted Living. Heartlands goes above and beyond to provide residents safe independence, opportunities to enjoy their surroundings and get out to have some fun and still enjoy their lives. The necessity to place your loved one in an Assisted Living is difficult. The reality of others caring for them can be concerning and scary. I feel extremely fortunate that my loved one is in a caring, upbeat and compassionate community environment. I have faith and peace of mind every day regarding the continued care they receive.

My 86-year-old father-in-law has been at Heartlands for a few years and has received wonderful care there and a home where he is happy. It is not a large facility and I think that is part of the charm. The medical staff and admin are knowledgeable, kind, attentive and willing to discuss matters or answer questions, and they really go above and beyond the call of duty! I think they treat their residents like family. My father-in-law is now dealing with end-stage congestive heart failure and his comfort ” but also his dignity and voice ” are priorities for Heartlands. Also, while facilities ended up having COVID-19 outbreaks throughout the D.C. metro area, Heartlands in Severna Park did not have one case! Amazing. I would highly recommend this place. Not only because we have peace of mind with him there, but also because he has peace of mind and they work hard to accommodate his needs and engage the family.

I made the very difficult decision to move my mom out of my home into assisted living. I searched almost every assisted living facility in the area. Most facilities were very nice, but not one seemed like the best fit for my mom. In December 2018 I decided to pull into the facility that I had been passing on Benefield Road for years... no appointment, tired, stressed and looking like a hot mess. I was greeted by Anne; friendly, compassionate and willing to stop what she was doing and spend the next hour or more with me. I left our meeting without a doubt in my mind that I found exactly what my mom needed. We moved my mom in January 2019. She was at Heartlands until her recent passing. The Director Lisa is nothing short of amazing! She is kind, funny, compassionate and a counselor when you just need some advice, a shoulder to cry on or a good pep talk. Greg is the Assistant Director, also kind, funny and shows that he deeply cares for his facility. Linda the Activities Director connects with residents in a way that is truly heartwarming. She has residents engaged, motivated and having fun all of the time. PreCovid it would be rare to walk in and not find an event or party happening in the main lounge area (I would visit almost everyday). Craig the Maintenance Director is one of the most kind people I have ever met. He seems to be a very busy man, but always stops to talk with the residents. My mom didn't leave her room often, but Craig always made it a point to stop in and check on her. Heather the Director of Nursing is amazing. She is kind, compassionate, so very knowledgeable and always made sure my mom was getting the best care. Last but not least Sharon, if my mom needed anything she was on it!! Sharon is full of energy, compassionate and just treats everyone like they are her best friend. The staff I have mentioned have all been at Heartlands for YEARS! I wish I could mention each care manager and nurse individually, but this would go on forever. I will just say THEY ARE AMAZING!!! The housekeeping staff is kind and goes WAY ABOVE cleaning. They make sure the residents are happy and have what they need. I could go on and on, but if you are looking for an assisted living facility where you can be guaranteed your family member will be engaged, loved and well cared for, Heartlands is it!!! We have only the highest commendations for Heartlands in Severna Park. The staff are amazingly friendly, caring, attentive, informative as well as professional. While those are probably the most important aspects of care for our loved one, we also praise Heartlands's physical attributes. Rooms are lovely, common areas are well-maintained and always very clean, and there are various places throughout the facility residents can enjoy. Additionally, activities abound and are well-thought out and conducted. All these attributes are more important than ever as we are going through this most challenging time. We have nothing but praise for how well management has kept us informed of every changing development and new protocol. They have worked hard not only to keep our loved one safe, but even provided ways to keep her entertained and engaged while in isolation. Additionally, they have made many efforts at helping us to connect with our loved one through zoom visits and "porch" visits. We can not recommend Heartlands strongly enough as a safe, caring and professional home for those who need assistance with daily living tasks. The heart in their name says it all!

Being a smaller assisted living community you can see her influence of top notch assistance in all aspects of care and dining. Our 94 year old Mom was living with us for almost two years and the health care that she needed was getting to be more than we could handle and her ability to get around without assistance was getting scary because we have two dogs and a cat and we were concerned for her safety with them going around her legs a lot. We discussed with her about other living options and took her to several assisted living facilities near us so we could still be with her often. after all of the places we looked at, she was set on moving to Heartlands, especially because the facility is not too big and everyone was sweet, personable and very helpful! We never felt like all the information we were given was being 'shoved down our throats'! We had a WONDERFUL tour of the building and there were several units available and because Mom's eyesight was rapidly failing, she was able to pick a unit with three windows that keeps all kinds of beautiful, natural light in. She was able to 'self-medicate' herself when she first moved in, but because of her eyesight, she now needs to have the nurses there give her all of her medications and we are SO happy with that, especially knowing she is getting her proper medication at the proper time every day! The nurses are SO loving and caring and Mom loves everyone of them! Mom has to have her meals brought to her and she eats in her unit. The staff that brings her meals are such a joy to her. She always looks forward to spending time with them. The staff at Heartlands are always compassionate and caring and they are always there and ready for any questions or concerns you might have and they do all they can to accommodate you and your family member the best that they can! Our Mom LOVES living here and we love knowing she is in such AMAZING care! We love Heartlands and we are sure you and your family member will too!

As Dorothy would say; "There's no place like home" but, from direct experience Heartland's offers something quite close to it. - Our family is so grateful. A lovely home like environment; cozy, comfortable and easy to find your way around without getting lost. It was perfect for my mother. She was able to live independently, while knowing support was always nearby. The suite's were well appointed, up-to date and easy to maneuver in a wheelchair. The main floor dining room provided a more intimate setting, serving three very nice meals throughout the day. For those in between times a cafe bar was open to all providing fresh fruit, baked goods and beverages-- as my mother would often say "you'll never starve here". Through the numerous activities and special events, mom engaged and connected making many new friends whom she'd come to care deeply about. The management team, nurses and support staff are all wonderful! A truly caring team that strives to make a difference supporting the residents they refer to as family.

My parents moved to Heartlands Severna Park in January, 2017, after my Dad fell and could no longer be at home to help care for my Mom, who has Dementia. They were both welcomed with open arms, by every staff member. Heartlands was home to Dad until he passed in August, 2017. Mom is still there, having moved into a smaller room. The sympathy expressed upon Dad's passing was genuine and heartfelt. All staff now "watch over" Mom with great compassion and love. It is not too large, well maintained, the nursing staff is wonderful. Housekeeping staff are the best, food service is great, the food pretty good! There are activities daily, a lot of stimulating games, crafts, entertainment, trips to museums, restaurants and rides through beautiful country. Lisa, the director is kind, compassionate, caring, yet she runs a tight ship. Many employees have been there for 10, 15, 20 years. Leadership is a huge part of this. Hats off to all at Heartlands Severna Park. Thank you for making this transition easy for my family.

So, my Sister is a Home Care Nurse with over 30 years of nursing experience. And when it came time to find an assisted living facility for her in-laws, this was the only place she considered. From their caring staff and administration to the meals and facilities, there is no place better in Anne Arundel County! I visited my Sister's Father in Law many times and the living space was incredible and the attention of the staff was amazing. Shortly after moving in, my Sister's Mother in-Law passed away, and at the Viewing, Staff showed up. Which is amazing when you understand she had only been there for a few weeks before she passed. Incredible Staff! You can search all over and you won't find a better Assisted Living Facility than Heartlands Severna Park.

We chose Heartlands to live because there is much love & kindness from all of the staff. This facility reminds us of a family type of facility. It contains all the things we need to live out our lives, such as: 1. 24 hour nursing care, which we badly needed 2. Good meals 3. Games of all sorts, music & singing once a week 4. Movies, special holiday menus 5. It is safe, every visitor must sign in & out 6. Friendly residents 7. Clothes washing & room cleaning Last but not least, our family & friends when visiting are blessed we are here

The staff at Heartlands Assisted Living in Severna Park, Md has cared for our father for one year now, and our family is very pleased with the care Dad receives. The nurses, caregivers and the entire staff at Heartlands are extremely hardworking, compassionate and caring. They are very attentive and respond in a timely manner to all of our father’s needs. Many nurses and caretakers take time out of their busy schedules to visit with Dad. Heartlands is very clean and well maintained. After visiting several assisted living facilities we decided Heartlands was the best place for our father and we know we made the right choice. This is a small assisted living community that has a HUGE HEART. My Mom has lived there just over a year. She is VERY WELL looked after by the entire staff. Everyone from administration, nursing, housekeeping, maintenance, caregivers, food department, receptionists, physical therapy, activities - EVERYONE knows her and what's going on with her. They also know me. I think some of the most important information is shared when I meet one of these people on the way to see Mom and we stop and chat. They share their observations about Mom, and I share mine. I was out of town when my Mom had a medical emergency and they took care of EVERYTHING. As a manager at a local nursing and rehab center, I see patients admitted to us from assisted living communities and many often are discharged to assisted livings from our short term rehab. Heartlands SP seems to always have satisfied patients (and family members) who are eager to return to their home there. The folks there always do their best to go above and beyond to help their patients regardless of their needs, level of care or weather or not they are able to return. They really care about the seniors.

I have visited Heartlands Severna Park many times and just walking in the door you are met with a big smile and welcome. I have seen how the staff inter acts with the residents and was very impressed. Heartlands is very welcoming and very very clean facility which is important as far as I am concerned. The residents have plenty of activities and seem very content with their surroundings. When my time comes, I wouldn't mind living there.

I give Heartlands at Severna Park excellent recommendation! My mother-in-law has been a resident at SP Heartlands for almost 3 years. I've never experienced a more professional and caring staff, from the facility directors to the care givers and receptionist. They are impeccable in the service provided and individual attention they give. The facility is always in pristine condition -- they take the utmost care in keeping the facility clean and sanitized without forsaking the warm, homey feel; they maintain regular modifications and remodeling to keep the facility fresh and up to date. There are plenty of fun activities planned weekly that are well-suited and engaging for the residents. They also host big events such as the Pig Roast and New Years Party for loved ones to join in and experience the festivities -- the staff are so zealous and enthusiastic, its contagious and makes the the whole atmosphere light up with excitement. Meals are healthy, tasty, and appealing to the eye every day -- I know because I've had the pleasure of eating with my mom-in-law on many occasions. The medical staff is sincere and caring and extremely on top of their care -- attentive to the residents and quick to step in to help in a medical emergency. There is so much more I could share about this amazing living environment! It is the best decision we've made for my mother-in-law. She has the best care and is surrounded by residents and a staff that love her! Kudos, Severna Park Heartlands! We love you!

My 93-year-old mother moved into Heartlands at Severna Park straight from rehab for a broken hip after she'd lived 3 independent years at their facility in Ellicott City. We chose it partly on the basis of past experience, but also because everyone there was completely involved in making the move and her transition to Assisted Living as trouble-free as possible. They accommodated our deadlines, provided Mom with in-house PT to continue the work she'd started, and did anything and everything to make her happy, including hanging a bird feeder for her outside her window. I could have done it, but Craig insisted it would be easier for him. Mom loved the in-house beauty parlor for her weekly primping. She throve there even as her health continued to fail, and when she was released the final time from the hospital to hospice, she was comfortable at "home." And there was no pressure, just empathy and lots of help, when we had to pack up her apartment. I'm sure no one's parent(s) are eager to move to Assisted Living, but families can rest easy when they are at Heartlands.

Really great place. They took great care of dad before he died and have taken great care of Rita since. Facilities are great, food is good but it is the staff that makes Heartlands the special place. Adding to previous comments. Mom has now lived her well past when Dad died and they have truly treated her with compassion. Heartlands is like a big family where everyone chips in to help the residents. Lisa is the manager and tough but very caring to both staff and residents. The food is good and there is daily entertainment for the residents. So glad we invested in Heartlands to take care of Mom. So glad they invested in us helping mom deal with the loss of dad almost 3 years ago. thanks.
