My relative is well cared for and content. There is an excellent nurse named Dahlia who personally insures that he and other residents in memory care are properly served. I know from experience having cared for an Aunt at home that it requires patience, self control and love. We cared for my Aunt for 3 years and then had to find a facility for her in Georgia. She lived there 3 more years even down to the point where they had to feed her by hand. I am confident that Sunrise in Pikesville will do just as well for my Uncle as long as he needs it. Thanks so much for all that you do.

We are very impressed with the fabulous staff at Sunrise. Everyone is polite, friendly, professional, and compassionate. My mom raves about the friends that she has made, the Sunrise staff, the food, and the activities that Sunrise provides for residents. We could not have picked a better place for my mom to be for this phase of her life. Thank you, Sunrise!!! Special shouts out to the fantastic team in the Reminiscence Neighborhood!!!! They are truly incredible as they treat the residents with such love and respect.

We visited other assisted living places, and Sunrise stood out as the best. The staff is professional, patient, caring, and friendly. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The food is great. The activities appealed to many different interests. The transportation was reliable. The management hires and trains all of the staff to be dedicated to providing the best care for the residents. The inside and outside decorations make Sunrise feel like home, and not an institution. They even had Janie, a resident golden retriever, make it seem like a home. I would recommend Sunrise to all of my friends.

Sunrise of Pikesville is a pleasant and caring assisted living center. Our 82-year-old resident is recovering from a fall suffered in October 2021. She came to Sunrise after five months of rehabilitation in a skilled nursing facility that would not offer any further therapy. Sunrise Pikesville did offer OT and PT through a well-known contractor and so it was our choice. The caregivers are kind and helpful and the nurses and medical technicians appear to be skillful and attentive. Staff turnover is a problem shared by many facilities and Sunrise in no exception. Management has been responsive to our concerns. Our resident had several preexisting conditions and Sunrise Pikesville has done well in accommodating her needs. Thank you.

Sunrise Pikesville is a beautiful community. We settled on Sunrise Pikesville over other options because a family friend was previously a resident. His family was very pleased with his care. This was also probably before COVID, which makes a difference. Sharon Gutzmer is a professional and does her best to uphold the standards of Sunrise. Unfortunately, the facility is impacted by the healthcare workers. It results in inconsistent care, changing staff, the extensive follow-up to ensure Drs orders are followed, and extensive follow-up on agreed care changes. I want to rate Sunrise Pikesville higher because of Sharon and a few staff members. I can't at this time. If you are considering, I would recommend that they share their staffing levels, the daily standard of care, and how the pharmacy works with insurance, as Sunrise does not process claims. Any issues that come up are not communicated timely. There's more. However, this will help you receive the care you desire for your loved one.

Focus on the cleanliness, interactions/friendliness of the staff you may encounter, program offerings, layout of rooms and the various common areas, appearance and behavior of residence you may encounter. Did you get all of your questions answered without feeling rushed. Approach residence and family members to hear their comments. A meeting and tour at Sunrise Senior Living will set the bar for what to look for at other Assisted Living and Memory Care communities.
