Clean, wonderful staff, good food, responsive to my needs, plenty of activities, field trips to stores, great friendly atmosphere and very nice landscaping. (Including lovey flowers).

Just wanted to give a Positive Shout out to Arbor Terrace at Fulton and a THANK YOU to all the incredible staff. My Dad fell on January 19th and broke his hip. He lived alone pre fall and when it came to look for a great place to live with 24 hr care and rehab all in one, I called Fulton, Arbor Terrace. I was so happy to hear they could no monthly rentals to get him back to his baseline and this happened with an amazing rehab team - Jill and Kristen were super stars with him. Aides and Nurses responded to all of his needs timely and always listened to what he liked and needed. It took 2 months to get him to almost independence and now going home. Hoping we can keep him at home but if we need to come back Arbor will be my FIRST CALL - Thank you from our entire family - Campbell's and Butterfield's

We moved my father into Arbor Terrace Fulton in June 2023. We had visited many other Assisted Living facilities prior to learning about Arbor Terrace. After meeting with Alissa Schroeder (Sales Dir) we were convinced that this was the best assisted living facility we had seen. It is beautiful, clean, and a well maintained environment. Alissa and Logan Stoodley (Executive Dir) were both wonderful and worked with us to get my Dad situated and comfortable after a very challenging year for him and our family. The staff is very attentive. All of the nurses, Victor (Director of Nursing), Nurse Therese, Nurse Jackie, and all of the nurses including Med Techs, and CNAs are wonderful and truly care about their residents.Yasmeen (Business Office Dir) has been wonderful in submitting our father's LTC policy claims in a very timely manner. A very special SHOUT OUT to Tracy Clark (Engagement Director) who always goes above and beyond to make sure all of the residents are her top priority. She is such a loving and caring person who truly encourages and makes every effort to ensure my Dad and all of the residents engage in all of the amazing musical concerts and activities she is constantly coordinating. Tracy is so creative and always has fun and exciting events planned. Fran is wonderful too. You won't find this kind of love and attention at any other facility. All of Arbor Terrace staff care deeply about their residents. Everyone at the front desk are also extremely friendly and always do their best to help connect us with the nurses and care staff when needed. The dining staff is wonderful as well in accommodating our Dad with several alternative meal options. My siblings and I feel very confident knowing that our 98 year old Dad is safe and being well taken care of.

Our family made the difficult decision to transition our parents to Arbor Terrace. Initially residing in the Assisted Living section, it soon became evident that my mother required specialized care in the Memory Care unit. Separating my parents after nearly 70 years of marriage, akin to the love story depicted in 'The Notebook,' was an emotional challenge. Witnessing my father struggle to accept their physical separation mirrored my own difficulty in letting go of the image I had known all my life. I advocated fervently with Arbor Terrace's leadership, believing that keeping them apart would cause more harm. The staff, displaying incredible patience and unwavering dedication, supported our decision to move my mother to Memory Care, understanding her need for additional attention. Her adjustment proved challenging, but the environment provided her with social connections, activities, and nourishing meals that brought her happiness and health. Meanwhile, the staff extended invaluable assistance to help my father adapt to this new chapter. His daily ritual of meeting her for breakfast, meticulously groomed and dressed, resembled a young man preparing for a first date with his sweetie. This journey wasn't just about care for the residents; it encompassed unwavering support for us, their devoted children. Losing both our parents within six weeks this year further emphasized the profound love they shared. They were inseparable. My eternal gratitude extends to the entire Arbor Terrace team, who tirelessly managed both our parents with an abundance of love and care every single day. Special recognition goes to Emmanuel, Lena, Mia, Fran, and Tracy, who were consistently available to support not only our parents but also us, their children. Words cannot adequately express our appreciation for Arbor Terrace's exceptional care and support.

The care my father has received at Arbor Terrace Fulton over the last 2+ months since his fall in late August has been extraordinary. From his health aides, to his therapists, to management, everyone has been welcoming, compassionate and caring.

First impressions matter! Alissa was wonderful to work with. We had to move my mom to memory care from another faculty that closed suddenly and Alissa helped make the transition as seamless as possible. I'm so grateful for her kind, caring help. My mom has a beautiful room and the staff is wonderful. Many activities and music and dancing! I drop in a lot and always find an upbeat atmosphere there. Very very clean and welcoming. I feel my mom is safe there and well cared for.

We were searching for an Assisted Living Facility for my mom. She is moving up from Florida and currently is in a resort style assisted living facility. We found seven different facilities that might meet her needs. We set up an appointment to visit all seven in Howard County. My wife was doing one final search and came upon Arbor Terrace. We reviewed the website, and it looked like a place we should check out. We set up an appointment with Alissa. We were very impressed with the curb appeal and the entrance. Everything was bright and clean. Alissa greeted us and we went off into a conference room to begin our discussion. The room was much more inviting than other rooms we had been in while touring other facilities. We cut right to the chase and explained this was now our eighth facility and here is what we are looking for. We then explained some history with my mom and how she wound up in assisted living. We explained what my mom currently had and said we are trying to be as close as we could to what she had. Alissa said Arbor would be very close to what my mom had. We felt very comfortable and there was no pushing us to decide that day. We then toured the facility and were very pleased with all the Arbor team we met, the facility itself and activities. We then made an appointment with Alissa to bring my mom back the week of Thanksgiving when she would be in town. The day came to show my mom the facility, my mom loved the place and is now a resident of Arbor terrace as of November 30th. Alissa was amazing!! Professional, yet personable at the same time. Alissa is one of the reasons we chose Arbor Terrace for my mom.

My mother has been at Arbor Terrace memory care now for almost a year and could not be happier. They do an excellent job keeping memory care residents engaged while maintaining a clean and friendly environment. I would not hesitate to recommend Arbor Terrace.

I have had a wonderful experience working with Arbor Terrace. The community is beautifully designed, very clean, and has a homey feeling. The staff are professional, friendly, and keep the residents engaged. They offer creative and fun events for their residents and for the community. Highly recommend for my clients and for any loved one looking to transition to assisted living or memory care!

What a beautiful place! The architecture is reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright. The staff, including Logan Stoodley (Exec. Dir.) and Alissa Schroeder (Sales Dir,) is energetic and very friendly. This is retirement living with style & grace! ~bob

Everything! You could tell Karen was answering the phone with a smile. She was warm and welcoming at the entrance. Kudos Karen! Our tour guide Alissa was awesome! Brought energy and passion to the tour. Excellent communication and follow up. She knew all the residents and genuinely cared about them. They loved her, too. My mom is moving from across the country and Alissa was all about making the trip easier, eliminating possible obstacles. Way to go Alissa! The staff was extremely outgoing and friendly. The facility was clean and organized. Loved the event calendar. Signed my mom up! She's moving in next month.

Great place for your parents!
January 2023
After touring multiple facilities, it became clear that Arbor Terrace was the cream of the crop, and where Mom needed to be. From the very first time we visited, everyone was so warm and inviting, and the amount of services and activities available to the residents was very impressive. Mom has been here for about 2 months and she is thriving ! Every member of the staff truly cares about each resident and it shows in their actions. We are truly blessed to have been able to move Mom here !

A week before Thanksgiving, tragically, we lost our Dad. Our parents had been living in a new 2 bedroom apartment for just 9 months, after moving from the home our Dad built 60 years ago. Dad was our anchor; so solid, loving & completely dedicated to Mom. Since Mom couldn’t live alone, she moved to Arbor Terrace the first week of December. We were very worried about how she would make this transition, especially on the heels of losing the love of her life. The staff here have been wonderful, kind, encouraging, & amazing. They told us to be patient; to give them time to help our mom get settled & comfortable. We are thrilled & in awe to see how well mom is adjusting; participating in activities, making friends, eating in the dining area with the residents. Just after Christmas, the staff held a surprise birthday party for our Mom & she was delighted. My siblings, our spouses, our cousin & I have been so thrilled with Arbor Terrace, that last week, we moved our Dad’s 99 year old sister, our sweet aunt, right down the hall from Mom. Since Covid, our Aunt has spent the better part of 3 years in bed, in her former home. On day one at Arbor Terrace, she joined in activities; singing & chatting with the staff & residents, eating meals in the dining area, & she & our mom have been sitting together for meals, & joining in group activities. It’s a blessed & joyful miracle!

I had the pleasure of touring Arbor Terrace Fulton and meeting Alissa Schroeder. Not only is the place impeccably clean and well designed for their memory impaired residents, the staff was extremely friendly.

An awesome experience gor the elderly to have fun and enjoy good food as well. Would highly recommend bringing residents to arbor terrace fulton.
August 2022
Sadly, my experience with Arbor Terrace has not been great. First the positives: The caregiving staff is wonderful and that is the only reason my dad is still there. Namely, Emmanuel, Godwin, Tawni and Terri make it bearable to remain and Dad truly loves them. Front desk staff (Dottie and Aretha) are also wonderful. There does seem to be an inordinate amount of staff change over, which is a little unsettling. The facility is beautiful but more on cleanliness below. Negatives: Housekeeping is not great. If I didn't live close and could come in and change Dad's sheets (twice in two days this week) and clean up the messes off his floor and change out his trash cans, I don't know what condition he or the place would be in. For the amount of money we pay there, you would think just actually replacing the trash bag with a bag that actually fits the can so that it doesn't sink to the bottom with the first item thrown in would be common sense. The other day I emptied out the trash by my dad's bed. It had four soiled Depends in it, and he had actually been spitting into the can as well. At the very bottom of the can, there were about 6 new, unused plastic bags, but no actual bag was place in the can to collect the rubbish. I emptied the soiled undergarments, and the unused plastic bags were all covered in urine and spit. I washed out the can and placed a bag inside and tied it off, which should be happening daily, but isn't. When I moved Dad in there, I bought two mattress covers to cover the brand new mattress we purchased for him, which I suspected were on the bed. I recently found out that neither of them had been being used for apparently a very long time. Dad's mattress is badly soiled. Maintenance: For over a year Dad's bathroom door, bathroom sink faucet handle and bedroom closet door were all broken or completely non-functioning. I fixed the faucet handle myself a few times, and we made numerous requests to fix the bathroom door, which was was off the track. They did try to fix it, but it continually broke. They gave up. It took my brother going in there and standing over maintenance to finally get all items corrected. Fees: One month, without any prior notice, large additional new monthly fees for medication management were added over and above the already large fee we pay because apparently, my dad needed one more pill a day. He will likely need less medication now that he has a pacemaker. I wonder if this will now reduce that fee back to the regular $550 a month. Management: Mostly lack of communication and proper standardized protocols seem to be the main issue here. The ever-changing staff is concerning and likely also speaks to the issue of good management. I find it interesting that AT gets such high reviews, but I have to wonder if many dissatisfied family members, such as myself and my family, are just concerned for the care of their loved ones if they were to write a bad review. I hesitated to write this for a very long time, but really, someone needs to know that it's not just all rosy at Arbor Terrace.

In spite of the very difficult past two years globally, credit to the Arbor Terrace Fulton team for always trying to put residents first while keeping lines of communication open with families. A very friendly, warm and beautiful environment that promotes engagement, interaction while also honoring those who are more comfortable in their own private setting. I have recommended many locals from the area to Arbor Terrace Fulton.

Wonderful team & facility. Thank you Arbor Terrace!
April 2022
My father was a resident at Arbor Terrace Fulton (ATF) for the past year. We had many blessings. I was able to visit him often, and I was there every day for the past several months. I got to personally know (on a first name basis) more than a dozen of the ATF caregiver team across all types of jobs and responsibilities. They share a commitment to caregiving that is remarkable, and this extended to me and my family. Walking alongside a loved one in assisted living is full of challenges and rewards, and I experienced many. We were fortunate that my father could live at ATF with its state of the art facility and staff, and I will miss visiting there.
April 2022
My mother has been in Arbor Terrace for almost a year and I can't say enough good things about it! The facility is beautiful, the staff are loving and supportive. I smile every time I visit as the environment is so positive! They have done an excellent job of balancing safety and resident activities throughout COVID. I am very grateful to the staff for taking such good care of my mom which puts my mind at ease!
March 2022
I love Arbor Terrace Fulton! It is a pleasure being here at this luxury faciality. The team of staff are amazing, the activities are great for residents and its heart warming to see the elderly to have a better quality of life and thriving as they make there home at Arbor Terrace.
January 2022
I have been very pleased with the care my mother has received in the Evergreen Neighborhood (memory care). Staff have been very kind, generous, and helpful, with ongoing attention to my mother's medical needs.
December 2021
My father is a resident at Arbor Terrace Fulton. He and my mother moved into an assisted living apartment at the beginning of September 2019, and my father has continued living in that apartment since my mother's death in September 2020. My family and I are grateful to have had Arbor Terrace Fulton as a living option for both parents over the past two years. My parents moved from independent living at another senior community in Howard County and the transition was none too soon for my mother in particular. It all started with the Executive Director, Amanda Gill, and continues to be because of Amanda to this day. We have never, and I emphasize never, had a senior living and care community experience that begins and ends with direct interaction and conversation with the community's executive director. In fact, we had no more than a handful of non-productive interactions with the executive director at the previous community during the entire six plus years my parents lived there (and it wasn't for lack of trying on our part). The executive director was disengaged from the residents and families, even during her rigid 9-5 workdays, and when she did manage to engage in short spurts they were totally disingenuous and meaningless. This senior living/care experience has been so different for me as the primary representative for my parents, and I attribute that difference to having an extremely capable, empathetic, invested, present, reasonable, and strong leader at the helm. Trust me that my parents and I have had questions, challenges, and concerns across our two-year experience—especially given the onslaught of COVID-19 six months after their move in and during the period of my mother's last hospitalization through hospice and her passing. Amanda assured us at the start that her door would always be open for answering questions, problem solving challenges, and resolving concerns, and she has never failed in honoring that commitment. She is always there, ready to take on the good, the not so good, and the rare but inevitable ugly regardless of what time of day or night it is, whether it's a work day or a day off, or how many other pressing items she has in her lineup. Amanda puts her heart, soul, brain, and whole self into managing the Arbor Terrace Fulton community as a whole and on every level below that including the individual resident and family level. I never once recommended the previous community to colleagues, friends, or family who needed to make senior living/care decisions for their loved ones. In fact, I told them not to consider it. That is the polar opposite in terms of Arbor Terrace Fulton; in fact, I highly endorse and recommend Arbor Terrace Fulton to everyone with whom I have senior living/care discussions. My reason for doing that is not because everything is perfect at all times; that would not be possible anywhere (ever). My reason for doing that is because what my father and I can count on at all times is open, direct, and respectful conversations with the executive director about crucial concerns and realistic resolution of those concerns. I challenge anyone to find that in any other senior living/care community in Howard County and am most grateful that Arbor Terrace Fulton became an option for our family and that Amanda is its executive director.
June 2021
Arbor Terrace Fulton is a great assisted living community! My father-in-law has been living here since shortly after they opened. The building is fabulous from an architectural standpoint. But what really makes it special are the staff. They truly care about the residents and go above and beyond to give the residents the care they need and all the little things to make them happy and comfortable in their apartments. The Executive Director is outstanding and sets the tone for the the entire management team and staff, by example, expectations and accountability. Her communications are always informative and timely. The food is really good. There are plenty of engaging activities. And throughout the pandemic, residents safety was at the forefront. Their positive case rate was very low throughout the pandemic. I highly recommend this community! My father-in-law truly enjoys living here.

Im truly blessed to be able to write this review today for Arbor Terrace. Besides the fact that I was able to see my dad today after months I was also able to receive love from a very nurturing staff. I left with a blessing and an eternal lesson on what it means to pay it forward .
February 2021
A caring, comfortable and competent new home for senior residents. Beautiful grounds and building, close to shopping and amenities and filled to the brim with caring staff who go that extra mile to ensure your family member is happy and cared for. With options of Assisted Living and Memory Care (in the event she needed increased care) my aunt chose a light filled, two bedroom corner unit and quickly began her new life making friends and participating in all the activities. She realized she had missed the social interaction she lacked living alone in a single family home. Food selection and presentation is wonderful and changes frequently. Kudos to Arbor Terrace!

As a local in-home care provider, I cant say enough about the Arbor Terrace Fulton team! When I visit the community, there is always a positive energy as soon as you walk in. Not only is the community meticulously clean and beautiful, but the Residents as well as the staff are happy and engaged. Its evident on everyones smiling faces. Keep up the great work Team Arbor!

Clean, organized, with kind staff who my mom responded to and who were considerate. Be aware that Arbor Terrace takes only private funding, not Medicare.

My mom has been living here for almost a year and she loves it. She enjoys all the activities and claims the food is amazing with good portions. The management team and staff are extremely kind and helps as much as they can although they are often busy. The nurses are so kind to her, they treat her just like family. My mom loves the library and the movie room.

When I first saw the sign that an assisted living-memory care unit would be built five minutes from my home, I was so excited. At the time, I was hoping my mother would be able to move closer to me but I was concerned she wouldnt be able to go because she was quite independent at the time. When I inquired, they said she would be able to come so I out her name on the list because I wanted her closer to my home. However, sadly, by the time it was built, we were in desperate need of memory care! She has already moved from independent living in Ellicott City to a memory care place in Columbia because Arbor Fulton wasnt ready yet; however, I kept calling to make sure they knew I was interested! Fast forward to today…I have never been so pleased. Not only is the place absolutely beautiful, but the staff and caregivers are amazing! They are kind, friendly and caring. There is a great culture among their staff and they communicate immediately to families whenever you have a question-concern or just to greet you when you arrive for your 80th visit! My mother cant communicate very well, but she often says it is nice here! Their engagement program in memory care is outstanding. Every time I come, my mother is engaged in either some type of art, games, music, discussion, etc…The list goes on. I was so thrilled that that the day she moved in, they took the memory care residents out for a scenic drive! (I dont believe my mother even made it outdoors at the last place!) So far, she has been out for ice cream on a pretty day, as well as visits to the nearby Farmers Market at Maple Lawn and a meal at Bob Evans. I love how they take them on outings often! The location of Arbor Terrace Fulton is perfect because it is nearby the beautiful Maple Lawn and area schools who can partner with them. This place was dropped into my backyard and is a blessing for me! I would highly recommend to anyone who is in a similar situation like I was and had to find good care for you parent or older relative. This is a wonderful place to be!

The Residents are the Best Ever
January 2020
My father has been at Arbor Terrace for just over three weeks now, and I am more impressed with this place every day! It has exceeded my expectations in so many ways. Every staff member is incredible. They are all so kind, patient, and caring. There are so many activities every day; my dad is super busy and thoroughly enjoying all of the interactions with people, as well as the entertainment. The activities director is full of good ideas and really brings out the best in everyone. They have an app that enables me to see what events my dad can choose from each day, and which events he attended, sometimes even with pictures of him there – so helpful! The food is amazing – better than most restaurants I would choose to go to! I love having meals there with my dad. The building is beautiful – its so nice to be surrounded by such beauty. I cant say enough wonderful things about Arbor Terrace. I havent seen my dad this happy in a long time!

I thought I would have to drag my father kicking and screaming to their new home and leave him and my mother on their own with him being sullen and moody. He was very worried about what this change was and how his freedoms would be taken. SKIP FORWARD to the end of our first day: We went to all the activities and had a great time. Everyone participating in the daily activities were quick to introduce themselves and chat a bit. Dad was inspired by one of the residents who was walking around the outside of the building (5 x around is a mile, she says) - and a little later, while mom and I went to pet Buddy the dog, he decided to walk the perimeter! Weve been trying to get him walking regularly since he broke his hip 5 months ago and he gave it hardly any effort. By the time the movers had their apartment set up at 4pm, both were enjoying themselves! Kudos to Amanda and Tracy for their leadership, energy, and huge hearts! Every staff member we met - in every role - were sincerely friendly, caring and patient. And not that patronizing kind of patience. Joyful caring - thats what it is. Im done gushing for now. And I think Ill get a good nights sleep tonight.

So excited for my uncle to get there. Beautiful place. Update, So my Uncle just arrived today. The Arbor Terrace Fulton staff were excellent. I just cant say enough about this place, how wonderful it is. Its just beautiful. Emanuel, the bus driver, Amanda, Kathy, Tracy, the nurse assistant (I believe Caitlyn) and the list goes on. Just the 1st day UB he has been here. It is so nice, my mom, who is extremely particular, said she would like to be here if she needs this level of care. I will update again at a later date.

Mom moved to the Memory Care here a few days ago. We knew it would be an upgrade from the assisted living facility she had been in, but Arbor Terrace has already exceeded our high expectations. Memory Care is on the ground floor with access to an enclosed courtyard that Mom loves. The caregivers are taking the time to get to know her. The activities have her talking and interacting more than I thought she was capable of -- Im realizing how important the environment is to dementia patient care.

What a wonderful group of people who work at this community! From the moment I walked in, I felt that they really cared about me and my family. I met most of the management team on my first visit and they each took the time to stop and speak with me. I could tell that they genuinely enjoy what they do. The building is modern and upscale looking, but feels very warm and welcoming. The room with the bar and corner windows on the top floor is such a fun and unique area. Our area needs a senior community like this!
