My father and god-mother are both residents of Brookdale Woodland Estates! This location has been wonderful for my family. The staff are great and during this past year with COVID, they kept my loved ones safe. You must check this place out. I’ve referred several families to this place. Both of my folks are thriving in this place.

My very best friend, who is a senior, age 100, has resided at Brookdale for seven years. She has been very happy there and they provide a harmonious living environment with activities, healthy food and kind staffers. Everyone was so warm and friendly! Its not new and shiny but clean and comfortable. The people there seem very happy and were so busy. They really keep them busy! The staff knew everyones name. That spoke volumes for me! I feel my mom would be loved and cared for. The rooms are spacious with big closest. The lady showing me around spent a lot of time with me and she was so knowledgeable. Looking forward to my mom moving in. It felt like home!

Ok, I have been a volunteer for more than 15 yrs, clearly this is an active community located near sr. Center, mall, parks and movie theater. The food service is excellent, the staff goes the extra mile to make residents have not only what they need ,but great times. Love this place !

My aunt was a resident of Brookdale Woodward Estates (dementia, alzheimers unit) for thirteen months until she passed at the age of 101 years. It was a difficult transition for her and the family because she wanted to remain in her home. But the staff at Brookdale continuously worked with her and our family to make her feel comfortable, a part of the community and most of all loved.It took a while for her to adjust and even then at times she would ask to go home. But on a good day, you could say she was running the place. We would go to visit, she was never in her room, either in the beauty salon talking to the hairdresser, at the opposite end of the building talking to someone even at the concierge desk. What made this happen was the staff from the Executive Director to the entire nursing staff knowing how to assist someone with dementia, alzheimers - it is not an easy task. It definitely takes a village to operate a facility of this magnitude and this one is done extremely well.In September, my aunt turned 101 years and we gave her a birthday party. The activities coordinator planned all aspects of the party and it was amazing - to the point my aunt actually got out of her wheelchair and made a speech.During our time at the facility they had a change in Executive Directors.The young woman who took over made pertinent changes in staffing, was very accessible to our family and willing to accommodate us in whatever manner possible.Yes, Brookdale is costly but remember the old saying you get what you pay for and this facility is well worth it. Would I recommend it to someone - absolutely. Anyones loved one who has to be in assisted living would benefit from the experience of living in Bowie at Brookdate Woodward Esates.
