Posting on behalf of Hillwood family member, John S: Watching a loved one with dementia is difficult, and the decision of where your loved one should live is extremely important. After visiting several facilities in Montgomery County, we decided that my mother should live in Hillwood. Our decision, and our current satisfaction with Hillwood, is based on the fact that for most of the day there are three care givers for eight residents. In practical terms, this means my mother receives care when she needs it as opposed to the situation in a larger institutional setting where one caregiver may be responsible for five or more residents. Perhaps even more important than Hillwood’s staffing ratio is the quality of care provided by Hillwood’s staff. Most of the Hillwood staff have worked there for long periods, ten years or more. They consistently offer warm words of encouragement and support, demonstrating that they truly care for my mother. The administrative staff is also always responsive to my mother’s and my family’s needs. Hillwood was the right choice for my family.

Hillwood is Amazing! My Uncle has been there since October of 2019 and he is very happy. If you want your love one to be safe, happy and well cared for this is the place for them! I am so thankful for all the staff and management do for my Uncle.

Mom moved from Auxiliary House to Hillwood when she needed more care. Both houses are managed by Cedar Creek. Fabulous company that knows dementia inside and out and cares for the residents in small homes (not institutional entities). Staff are great and have a long tenure with the company, the management is helpful and informed, and we couldnt be happier with the care they provide. Strongly recommend. It was a great place for Mom.
