In evaluating your options, however, do not think only of what you will be giving up by moving to a CCRC (e.g. home and yard maintenance; daily meal preparation; long waits for medical appointments; accumulated stuff) but consider also what you will be gaining by moving to a CCRC (e.g. maintenance-free housing; delicious meals; on-site health care; varied physical and intellectual activities) plus you will be gaining a supportive and caring community of new and interesting friends. My husband and I signed up for Ginger Cove at Home last Fall and are so happy we made the decision! We are not ready to leave the home we have lived in for the past 25 years (at least not yet) but realize we are getting older and may need help at some point. Now we know that whatever happens we will be taken care of. You can’t put a price on that peace of mind! Many thanks to Sam for helping us through the process and providing us with such a high quality experience! I can’t say enough about her attention to every detail. I visit this facility often and over the last two weeks in my observation i saw a few major concerns on the 3-11 shift in memory care. I've been noticing that there's been only two employees in this unit, and although both young ladies are always welcoming, and very pleasant i still have some major concerns, being that im a registered nurse myself. I'm writing to express my concerns about the facility caring for residents with dementia and Alzheimer's in memory care. Specifically, I'm worried about the staffing levels and whether they're sufficient to provide proper care and ensure resident safety. From my observations, it seems like the facility is understaffed, which can lead to neglect and accidents. Residents aren't getting the attention they need, and it's affecting their well-being. I've noticed instances where residents have gone without assistance for extended periods, which is unacceptable. Having only two employees on this unit is unsafe. One CMT and one Care Team Member? I understand that caring for dementia and Alzheimer's residents requires specialized care and attention. I urge the facility to prioritize staffing and training to meet the needs of its residents. This includes providing enough staff to assist with daily activities, medication management, and ensuring a safe environment. I'd like to see a plan of action to address these concerns and ensure the facility is meeting the required standards for care and safety. Can you provide information on the current staffing levels and how the facility plans to improve resident care? While not overworking the employees whom are present.

I enjoy visiting my Mom and Uncle at Ginger Cove because it is a beautiful clean facility with a gorgeous trail that goes to the pier. Ginger Cove has a wonderful staff and friendly residents. The meals are simply amazing and delicious to include comfort food, inventive dishes, and delectable desserts. I told my husband that we will be living here one day.

My wife and I have lived at Ginger Cove for over three years. No regrets. No looking back. This is the place to be as we age - worry free living, beautiful campus, attentive and respectful staff, and a sense of community, it being so much more than a neighborhood - not simply a friendly place, but a caring place. My advice: come here before you need to be here; come here for the lifestyle, socialization, entertainment and activities. When I moved into Ginger Cove in 2022, I knew no one. Now 2 1/2 years later, because of the prevailing feeling of comaraderie, community and fellowship, I feel I am part of a "village" where staff as well as other residents are honestly interested in me and care about me. Ginger Cove staff all engage in building that feeling of "neighbor to neighbor". I am happy to be living here.

Why we chose Ginger Cove We studied the available options in the Annapolis area and quickly realized that Ginger Cove is where we want to be for our next stage of life. We were naturally hesitant about our first appointment until Sherry Gilde skillfully gave us all the details and tour. Everyone we saw that day smiled and greeted us. Residents and employees are happy and look out for each other. We departed enthused and committed to become members of the Ginger Cove family. Continuing healthcare is very important and is highly rated.The well maintained facility is set within a beautiful property that offers outdoor living space to everyone. I cannot say enough about the level of care, compassion, professionalism and dedication of all the employees at Ginger Cove. It is a beautiful campus from the resident rooms, dining and activity rooms, common areas and outside grounds. The food is fantastic with a wide range of menu options. Most importantly the care for the residents is unmatched. We moved my Mom to Ginger Cove and it has been such a relief to know she is well cared for and lives in such a supportive, caring environment.

Ginger Cove does well as a Retirement Community and is rated highly in so many aspects. My parents moved in several years ago and have received access to wonderful services, activities, cultural events and a caring community. They have made numerous new friends while at Ginger Cove partly because of my parents outgoing nature but also because of the amenities, environment and culture that Ginger Cove provides. When you evaluate retirement communities it can be difficult to truely see what the staff and administrator’s culture is really all about. This is where Ginger Cove differentiates. Their staff really cares. From the dining staff, the assistants, the nurses, the physical therapist, social workers, the front desk staff, the event planning staff and the administrators, they all make a difference. I have had the opportunity to interact directly with them not only during casual daily activities, but also to work through challenges my parents were experiencing. The people that work at Ginger Cove listen and adapt when possible. It is not uncommon to see them go above and beyond not only on the little things, but also on big items that help create special moments that only people with big hearts can do.

We have lived at Ginger Cove for approximately 5 1/2 years. It’s a wonderful place to live. There are many activities to keep you occupied if you want to participate. Most of the residents are over 80 years old as you would expect in a retirement community. For me the secret to being happy is joining committees and activity groups. I came here with my wife mostly for social interaction. The building and grounds are maintained well. They are responsive when something needs repair. I have found no other CCRCs in the Annapolis area that is of the overall quality of Ginger Cove so I am satisfied living here.

My parents moved to Ginger Cover over 3 years ago. They are so glad that they made this move. Their apartment is fabulous, the staff are caring and conscientious, the food is innovative and well planned for seniors, and the activities never stop. To add additional kudos to GC - their execution of how to properly protect their residents during COVID-19 has been exemplary. It is inconvenient - but a global pandemic has that impact. I care most about the health and safety of my parents. I feel they have that protection and guidance to stay safe and healthy. 5 stars all the way around to Ginger Cove and their staff!!

Ginger Cove is a very special place to live. The staff treats you like family. There is very little staff turnover, which is a good indication that staff will take good care of you and Ginger Cove takes good care of the staff.. Mom has enjoyed living at Ginger Cove for over 10 years. The Residents take care of each other and friendships are strong. My sister and I love to visit and are spoiled by the wonderful food.
