Drive toward Sunrise and keep going past it. That's my recommendation. Poor food. Nice aides who work with the residents. Otherwise it's a pass.

I have been at two sunrises with my friend Ruth Malm! We started at the Westin facility, and when it closed, we went to Wayland ! In both places, the staff made it what it was! I really felt like they cared for my friend Ruth! All of this was new to me and Marie. He helped me the whole way! I would recommend Sunrise to anyone! Thank you again… Janice zanella

In an effort to give full disclosure of my honest review, I am currently an employee here at Sunrise of Wayland. I cannot express enough how wonderful, hard working and passionate the staff is here. From the concierge's warm welcome, to the housekeepers, to the great nursing staff, the outstanding dining room and kitchen staff everyone works together as a team making this community be a great place to live or work. Buddy, the 11 year old community rescue dog really gives it a true sense of being "home". The building is sparkling clean yet has a homey warm feeling. Residents are engaged through out the day with daily activities and care staff passionately ensures that each resident's individualized plans for care are being met. I particularly like how all of the staff takes the time to learn a little bit about each resident and knows and calls everyone by their name. All of the staff does this... even the office staff and maintenance staff. Marie-Jean Earnshaw had done a fabulous job staffing this community with professionals, that truly enjoy what they do 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I look forward to coming to work every day. Sunrise of Wayland is a very special place. If you are looking for a comfortable place for your loved one to reside, I cannot recommend Sunrise more.

In the almost four years our mother lived at Sunrise, we always felt that she was cared for and above all, safe. The staff truly cared for her and they were genuinely sad when she passed away.

Our mother, Marcia Cook spent two years at Sunrise and we could not be any more impressed with the Staff from the leadership at the top with Jean-Marie down to the folks that cared for Marcia on a daily basis. The entire staff made us feel very safe leaving Marcia in their great care. It can be a very difficult decision leaving a parent with an unknown facility but we are so thankful we found Marcia a home at Sunrise of Wayland. I would highly recommend this facility for your loved one.

After a lengthy consideration, we decided that my husband's care/safety would be better in the R.E.M unit at Sunrise. Though it was a difficult decision to make, ultimately it was the right one. Initially my husband was the least impacted cognitively, however after a few months and a fall (broken hip) his cognition declined rapidly. It was somewhat depressing at first to see him in this environment, but we realized it was truly the best place for him. He had mobility and cognitive issues which were difficult to handle at home. The caregivers for the most part rose to the occasion and he was well cared for. If there was an area of concern, it was after dinner and on weekends when the usual team was not there. We hired a companion to fill the void when a family member was not there. The activities were limited and not particularly stimulating. The population of the unit was fairly impacted with residents who slept in their chairs a lot, but it would be better for those more aware to have more choices to participate in. Overall, we were happy with the care extended to my husband. The staff was very kind whenever my daughter and I were in the unit and when my husband passed away recently.

Sunrise of Wayland is an exceptional Place. I am so happy that my Grandpa is here. The accommodations are great. Just walking in the front door, you feel you are entering a resort. I love that I can come in, and enjoy a meal with my Grandpa whenever I want; and the food is get, with multiple options for each meal. And I cant speak enough of the staff; everyone that I have encountered are great! I would recommend Sunrise to anyone.

I had recently taken a tour of this community for my mother and I have no complaints of how things had went. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions I had for them in detail. I thought they had a really nice selection of amenities and activities for the residents as well as an open floor plan. It was just not the right fit for my mother in the end decision.

This looked like a nice clean community when we toured it. The person that took us on tour was friendly. This community seemed to offer a lot of daily activities and some nice amenities. This community was our second choice, however they did not offer all of the services we were looking for.

This community is in a good location and it seemed like a suitable place for my dad. The guide was on time and informative. It was a good tour and did a good job. The interaction with the residents looked kind and respectful. Just make sure there is enough funds to cover the expenses.
