Mom has had a very positive experience with Mary Ellen and Concierge Service at Wingate/Melbourne. From the moment Mom arrived, the Concierges have been friendly, supportive, professional and genuinely attentive. They truly care for my mom, which gives our family great peace of mind. I am very pleased with the level of attention provided. What stands out the most is the Concierges' patience with my mother, and their willingness to help with even small requests, always with a friendly attitude. They truly made the transition to assisted living easier for our family, which meant a lot during a stressful time. It’s clear the Concierges play an important role in creating a warm, supportive environment. Overall, the Concierge Service adds a personal touch that makes a big difference. I would definitely recommend the Concierge Service at Wingate/Melbourne to anyone looking for a little extra for their loved one. Mary Ellen and her staff are absolutely amazing!

Our family member spent seven wonderful years living at Melbourne. Beautifully maintained and staffed by caring professionals, it is a terrific option for those who are independent and need minimal care. Our only word of caution is that we were not well informed regarding what to look for that indicated she "outgrew" it. Because there is no step-up option onsite (aside from Memory Care) we were repeatedly reassured that she was fine (she was not) and that it was an appropriate placement (it was not.) Families - follow your gut and believe what you see. In the later years, it is a fast progression from someone who can handle their own personal care and living space to someone who needs more assistance. Our family member is now doing very well in another living situation with much more support (she even regained some physical and cognitive abilities) but we will always be grateful for the wonderful years she spent at Melbourne!

I moved my father into Wingate a month ago. The staff has been so attentive and caring. They call me with any questions or issues, and even just to let me know he's adjusting well. Communication with them is above and beyond - they call me or return my texts nights and weekends when they're not even working. The facility is gorgeous, food is good, and the staff is amazing. Every single person. I couldn't have found a better place for my dad with Alzheimer's to live out his remaining days in peace, beauty and comfort.

My mother recently became a resident here. It was a tough transition for her, but the Wingate staff really smoothed it out for her. My father recently died, we moved her up from Florida and she's never lived in an apartment before. It was a lot for her to take in. We enrolled her in Wingate's Concierge Program for her first couple of months and that made ALL the difference. Mary Ellen was fantastic! She checked in on my mom regularly, introduced her to other residents and invited her to participate in various activities. We checked in to get updates on her progress and made suggestions about her social and mental comfort needs. Most importantly, it took a huge load off my sister and I. As anyone who is caring for elderly parents knows, there is so much to do and you feel like you have so little support. Wingate not only makes our mom feel supported, but her caregivers too!

Wingate Melbourne was the best move we could have made for our mom after our dad passed. Mom wasn't thrilled with the idea initially but this team at Wingate Melbourne takes the time to welcome and interact and not only with the residents but with my brother and I as well. It's a lot to navigate when our parents get older. The concierge service they provide is phenomenal. Such a huge help for someone new to the community. Having her set up with these caring, compassionate and just fun people to help her get settled in, meet people and encouraging her to join activities and events made the switch to assisted living so much smoother than we could have hoped. My mother has been a resident at Wingate Residences at Melbourne Place for a little over a year now, and I can confidently say it has been a fantastic experience for her and our family. The staff at Wingate consistently go above and beyond to ensure my mom's comfort and well-being. I particularly appreciate the Concierge service. The team is incredibly caring and responsive to any requests I have - and they are fun! Being able to communicate directly with them when it's hard to reach mom is really great. This add-on is well worth it! The entire team at Wingate creates a warm and supportive environment, making it a true home for my mom. She especially enjoys the activities, outings and live music. In the past year I have noticed a huge improvement in her happiness and social life. Concierge Program at Wingate is fantastic! There are many stages of life. Aging and not being able to stay in your home independently is not only difficult for the individual but also for the family. Assisted living is the next step for many but sometimes that is not enough. At Wingate we not only found a great facility that provides assistance but for those that need just a little more TLC and assistance they have the Concierge Program. Our Mother /MIL was doing ok at Wingate but sometimes just seemed lost. She would go to an activity but then would get up and leave. She seemed content but not really happy. She knew she had to be there, but she just didn't feel at home. We signed our mother up with the Concierge Program. MaryEllen and Gail are wonderful! They work with our mother and help guide her through the day. They make her feel welcome and part of the group. They have discovered what she likes to do and make sure she has the opportunity to do it. She likes to garden. The residents have a garden on the deck that she can help with if she chooses as well as gardens and plants around the facility. Sometimes she participates and other times she prefers to just sit and watch others. On her birthday our mother received a plant. It outgrew its container, so Gail helped mom replant it. MaryEllen discovered mom likes to paint and makes sure she has the opportunity to do that as well as other crafts. They really get to know the residents and make them feel special. It's the little things that they do that make the difference. How do we know? Our mother seems happy. She comments about how she has friends here and that they invite her to join them. She recently commented "I feel like I am at home". What else does the concierge program do? They help new residents settle into their new home. They work closely with the residents in their program and help make adjustments to their care. They can help facilitate additional services that may be needed by the aides. They will take residents in the program to appointments or just go on an outing that the resident would enjoy. They are wonderful and treat our mom like family. They reach out to us, the family, with concerns and recommendations. The Concierge Program, meaning Gail and Maryellen, are a great asset to Wingate. We are so fortunate that our mother is in such a great home that has such caring, loving people. She is now able to really enjoy this stage of her life. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Wingate. We appreciate you!

A perfect fit for my mom My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 7 months ago, and after a couple of personal incidents it became relevant that she would no longer be able to live in her own and need assistance. My sister did the research and said that Wingate received the best reviews, and we learned quickly why. Through Wingate’s concierge program, my mother was introduced to the friendly Wingate way through 2 professionals who showed her the ropes and introduced her to everyone there, starting on day one. It was easy for her to acclimate and find friends right off the bat. There have been no incidents brought on by Alzheimer fear, and the staff keep her busy with fun activities throughout the day which keeps her both happy and her mind occupied. The effort by the entire staff to keep her and the rest of the residents comfortable is excellent. I would highly recommend Wingate for anyone in the market for assisted living.

The care that our family member, C, has received as a resident at Melbourne Place (MP) has been exceptional! Her medical journey has been long, complicated and unpredictable over the course of the last 6 months and the Team at MP has been with us every step of the way. C's residency began on the Memory Unit under the care of a watchful and compassionate team. With time, healing, and care, she was able to advance to the Assisted Living Wing. As a member of the MP community, we have seen C thrive as she engages in a multitude of activities and social opportunities. Her studio apartment provides the amenities and the privacy she values. The personal care aides are readily available and assist with C's personal needs accordingly. A special shout out to Cara Holcum who has advocated for and supported C (and her very large family!). Also, a special thank you to Mary Ellen and Gail who provide additional assistance, support, and personal care through the Concierge Program. We are so grateful for this community~

My mom has been at the Wingate Residence Memory Care facility for about a year. After losing my father suddenly and completely unexpectedly, we needed to find a home for her, which none of my siblings or I knew anything about. The Wingate team was incredibly helpful in getting us started, letting us know how everything worked, and ultimately getting Mom situated and comfortable. Her adjustment was remarkably easy, and I know we owe that to the staff. She's happy, well taken care of, and we all rest easy knowing she's in such great hands. The team there communicates to us often, letting us know how she's doing and what if any issues she is having. We rarely have to ask; they reach out with proactive communication which goes a LONG way when you're in this sort of situation. The team made one of the worst experiences of our life so much better. We are incredibly grateful to them and would recommend the facility to anyone looking for this sort of service.

Wingate is a beautiful facility with caring and compassionate staff from marketing and front desk to direct care workers. My mother transitioned from her assisted living apartment there into memory care seamlessly and the staff in the memory care unit are so responsive - they really care and are on top of things. I visit often and see it first hand how much they look out for each resident and their needs. I know my mother feels well cared for which gives my family peace of mind. The recent renovations are an added bonus and it has been amazing watching the transformation of the building and the added amenities for Wingate's community members.

Melbourne Place in Pittsfield, MA, is a beautiful facility with a newly renovated dining room, movie theater, bistro and activities room. The amazing huge back porch overlooks beautiful views of the Berkshire mountains where residents can enjoy outdoor meals, concerts and even a lovely fire pit. Two years ago, when our mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and we knew it was no longer safe for her to live in her home, we moved her into Melbourne Place Assisted Living. She only remained in Assisted Living for a short time when she transitioned to the memory unit, which is called The Neighborhood. The transition was seamless and the Neighborhood is a Godsend to us. It is a very special place where residents live a free lifestyle in a safe, caring environment. Mom lives her life on her own terms with like minded people. She can participate in daily activities or sit quietly and watch a movie....her choice. She is happy and very well taken care of. I have spent much time visiting my mom and know first-hand that the staff in The Neighborhood is amazing. They know each resident personally and treat them with love. They give the respect and dignity these residents deserve. The facility is clean and always bright and cheery. We know we made the best decision for our mom when we chose Melbourne Place. I highly recommend you go in and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
