Communication is the key in any successful relationship, and in the case with the Wingate staff, they exceeded my expectations in communicating with me about my sister's adjustment and her challenges and successes in adjusting to a memory care facility. Jose and his dedicated staff are upbeat, compassionate and empathetic when interacting with me and my sister. What I am most impressed with, is that when things don't go smoothly for my sister, the staff, including the nursing staff are willing to work with me to find solutions to ease my mind and to help my sister be more comfortable. Their knowledge base regarding dementia is outstanding and most importantly I trust them.

I moved my mother here 2 months ago (April 2023). Everything that I was told (and then some) were all true. The place is beautiful, clean, staff is wonderful, there are tons of activities, and the residents are friendly and welcomed my mom with open arms. On her first day of living there, Amy had arranged a lunch crew for my mom so she immediately had a group of residents to talk with to ease the transition. Anyway, I could not be happier with my choice of Wingate as my mother is very happy and (surprisingly) adapted very quickly to the Wingate Community. -CF

My Dad was in Wingate's Memory care neighborhood for almost 7 years. We recently had to move my Dad to a skilled nursing facility. I did not realize what a sense of loss I would feel as I organized the move. Wingate was my Dad's family. The staff cared deeply for my Dad. He had a team surrounding him and Dad was the Wingate captain. There were tough losses as any team has, but that didn't matter in the long run. The support and love and care Wingate showed for my dad especially at the end of his many years there was priceless. The memory care director and the head nurse worked so well together and as a family member I felt supported and not alone. It's not about the chandeliers, it is about the people. Thank you Wingate for always rallying around my Dad. Dignity and respect and care and support along with song, light and interactions filled the memory care neighborhood. After my mother needed a hip replacement and could not safely return to their home, my parents moved in to "The Residences". They have enjoyed many wonderful days there and met many new friends in residents and staff. The staff are attentive and very nice and accommodating from the Management, Maintenance, Food services, Housekeeping, Receptionists, Life Enrichment (Activities), Driver, Hairdresser, Manicurist, Health Coach and the Nurses and Nursing Assistants. Sadly my Mom passed away in August. Although my Dad at this time does not need physical care, he is challenged with his memory. The staff always check in on him for his emotional well being and encourage him to attend activities including outings. The property is very clean and has many common areas both indoors and outdoors to choose from. Check it out! You will not be disappointed!

The Wingate Residences at Needham includes The Neighborhood, which is a memory care unit. My grandmother has lived in The Neighborhood since 2015 and we have been very impressed with the care that she has received. Almost one year ago José Soto became the director of memory care at the Wingate Residences, and José has arranged for weekly Zoom calls for my grandmother to connect with family near and far throughout the pandemic. José also welcomes us and maintains a COVID-safe, warm, friendly environment for in-person visits. José's creativity has been incredible to witness. He and his team plan a full schedule of meaningful activities for the people they serve, including raising and releasing butterflies, for example. José even planned a special trip for my grandmother to her former workplace, which is just one of the many ways that he has gone above and beyond. He and his whole staff are so energetic and enthusiastic about what they do. Members of my family frequently write them fan mail, and I wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude publicly. Thank you so much to The Neighborhood director and staff!

My mom moved to Needham from New Jersey and of all the assisted living places we visited, Wingate was the best. The apartments were larger at Wingate than the other assisted living facilities and the staff who we met with provided us with names of senior management movers who coordinated the complicated moving of my mother's belongings from New Jersey to Needham. I highly recommend Wingate.

I have lived at Wingate Residents for about five years and I could not be happier.anywhere else. The staff here are great and very helpful. I have not met an employe that did not have a smile and was asked if there was anything they could do to help me. Nina at the front desk is so knowledgeable any thing you need to know she always has the answer. I feel it is a very safe place to live and if you need a ride you just let the front desk know and it is arranged. I am 89 years old so my family is very happy that I am in such a friendly and safe place.

Have had a very good experience with a family member in the memory care unit at the Residences for well over a year. The staff are excellent, engaged, respectful and friendly to residents and their family and friends. They have made big efforts to provide appropriate activities and care for individuals with different needs, and adjust when their needs change. Most important, when we have had concerns, the administrators and staff have responded immediately, and have done their best to try to put changes into effect. Except for about a month when the food service changed, the food has been very good There are options for famiies to have meals in the memory care dining room, or in the main dining room. The common spaces are lovely with a lot of light, and the rooms are quite nice. No place is perfect, and not every place is appropriate for everyone, but we have been satisfied overall that we made a good choice.

For my mom, they have done an exceptional job since she is suffering from dementia. Exceptionally good at getting them up and active and engaging them with the other residents. So my mother is very, very comfortable there. The nursing care has been exceptional.

Very nice! Quiet and clean, nice staff. I saw two studio apartments -- one had a not-so-great view, the other was fine. Free coffee, tea, and snacks for residents on every floor in the lounges, a nice touch. And a pool table too! The property abuts a wooded area, so there is lots of greenery around. When I left, I heard some residents complaining about the food 🙁

The owner is amazing, like a dementia-whisperer and we considered her family, as she did with my family and my father. There was not a person, a drug or an approach that could calm down my dad the way she was able to. She was nothing but gentle, loving and calm, and was flawless in getting my dad to do things the hospitals couldn't such as simply getting him up and around or to the bathroom. She also makes fresh juice, wonderful sandwiches, all homemade meals. The place as well as my father were always impeccably clean. I would never hesitate to recommend Brighter Days to anyone with a family member who doesn't need as many activities.
