I considered three retirement communities before selecting New Horizons. It fits my needs very well. It's large enough to have many activities but small enough to keep track of individuals. (I know this from personal experience; my health took a down-turn last year a New Horizons responded immediately.) The atmosphere is friendly and helpful; my brother noticed immediately.

We came from Newton, Massachusetts to independent living at New Horizons this past June. Leaving home and friends was a sad and often stressful experience, but it made sense because of emerging health concerns and the ever increasing difficulty of maintaining a large house. We looked at several different arrangements and cost structures for senior living. New Horizons was far and away the best option in terms of cost, range of activities that were offered, and the ease with which we could move to various levels of assisted living if we needed to. Positive, and obviously sincere testimonials from those already living here also factored strongly in our decision to relocate here. We were also familiar with the many accomplishments and unblemished reputation of the Cummings Foundation which oversees the operation at New Horizons. We knew that things would be well managed and above board if they were involved. There are plenty of solid and diverse activities here, and a monthly calendar enumerates all of them. We've been here less than 6 months and are already involved in efforts to bring Ma Jong and a Parkinson's support group to New Horizons. Several friends from Newton have come to visit us since we moved here. They had high praise for the layout of all the facilities and for the quiet solitude of our apartment. They were also impressed by the well-tended shrubbery, lawns and walkways. We particularly enjoy driving or hiking through the miles of nearby forests, wetlands, lakes and meadows that surround New Horizons. They are among the most breathtakingly beautiful in all of New England and we had no idea they even existed until we came to New Horizons. My wife and I moved here in June 2022. We’ve been very happy in our new home. The facility is well designed and maintained. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The meals are superb.

My dad moved here about 4.5 months ago and has been really happy with his choice. Other than an unexpected medical emergency which has thankfully resolved, it has been smooth sailing. He has met tons of people, enjoys the wine and cheese get togethers before dinner, and loves the food - a salad and fruit every day before dinner, a wonderful meal, and always a great dessert. Grounds are well maintained and activities are starting up again after the lull caused by COVID.

In my over 10 years of residence at New Horizons at Marlborough, I have found it offers the safe and caring environment so necessary to a successful facility of its kind. The evidence for its commitment to resident safety has been its unmatched record of having virtually no presence of COVID-19 on its campus. Surely, a caring staff, adequate planning and implementation was necessary to make this possible. New Horizons is one-of-a-kind because of the wide scope of its activities and facilities, in additional to its stability (no name changes, fee increases, or periodic reorganizations as in similar facilities) through its connection with the Cummings Foundation. The living quarters and community facilities are well-maintained and several levels of care are also available. An extensive program of resident activity and entertainment is conducted by members of a Community Services Team who are also available to assist with everyday needs. These activities are tailored to be varied enough to meet a wide range of resident interests. Amenities such as a swimming pool, chapel, and greenhouse are also available. The dining rooms are attractive and the menus are more than adequate, offering a wide variety of selections at each meal. A reasonable person will have no difficulty meeting his or her dietary needs. One of the unusual and very enjoyable features is having the waitstaff composed of high school and college students, offering diners a pleasant and mutually beneficial interaction with young people. Not five stars? Nothing is perfect!!

I love New Horizons in Marlboro! My parents moved in a few years ago. Unfortunately my mother passed away shortly after moving in but the community was so helpful during that time. People sent cards, came over with dinners and cookies. It really was helpful knowing that my father would be in a place with so many nice people. The staff has been great too. Now with Covid, I really appreciate how they have handled the whole situation. It has been hard on my Father and all of us since we couldnt see him for so long but NH had no cases for such a long time. Now everyone has there vaccine so we are hoping for things to open up soon. I would and have recommended NH to many friends

Rave reviews of NHM! Before, during, and after the move of my mother out of our 50+ year family home 1.5 years ago management and staff there could not have been more supportive and helpful. Her apartment and the facility are wonderful, and she has been taking full advantage of all the activities and amenities- staff there goes out of their way to take a personal interest in her and encourage her to join in, which has really helped get her engaged and motivated. She has raved since Day 1 about the food being out of this world, and its gotten even more outstanding since Tony has been overseeing the dining room over the past several months. We could not have found a better place for her, and are very grateful to all who work there.

My parents have lived here for 5 years and are generally very happy. Positives - beautiful and well maintained grounds, cleaning services, responsive maintenance department, friendly staff. Negative - quality of food has gone downhill. My parents have claimed some of the meals were unattractive, not fresh and at times, inedible. They seem to only attend for the social aspect with other residents and the wait staff.

I live at New Horizons and researched several options before deciding on New Horizons at Marlborough. There is nothing like it, and it was a very easy decision to make. The apartments are larger than any I have seen, the staff is exceptional, the administration is extremely responsive, the buildings and grounds are constantly being cleaned, improved, kept up to date. I couldn't be happier with my decision. There are many, many activities including documentaries, movies every night, a chapel on site, full exercise room, numerous trips available, transportation to doctors' appointments, events, plays, local restaurants, etc. There is an indoor swimming pool, several libraries, and very friendly residents. I have yet to meet anyone who regrets moving here.

I have lived here for 5 years with my wife. We enjoy the campus and the people who work for New Horizons. The maintenance staff is unbelievable. The care of the grounds to the care of the apartments is awesome. The dining staff is unbelievable and the administrative staff care. Absolutely recommend New Horizons for Elder care and for Specialty care .

The interview process put me at ease immediately. It was done with humor & lots of personality of the interviewer. She answered every one of my questions& anticipated others that I should have asked!! I fell in love with this place from the front door till we left! I'm just waiting for my phone call to give me my move in date!!! When I call with any question no matter how trivial, the staff make me feel so welcoming even though I don't live there yet. CANT WAIT!

My mother has been living here for about 7 years and she is having fun most everyday with her many friends. She'll often tell me how much she appreciates our selecting New Horizons for her. We hold Mr. and Mrs. Cummings in the highest regard for there wonderful philanthropy and how they manage New Horizons. The administrative staff bent over backwards to meet my mothers needs. There are many group activities for residents, the food is excellent, and the VNA staff will do a detailed care plan that the staff follows to ensure your loved one is well cared for. Complaints are not in my mind. The Dining experience is enjoyable as are the youthful wait staff. Community Service Staff take care of activities that bring Residents together. Administrative Staff keeps open to help Residents, with an open mind. General Building and Grounds are kept to the utmost. Always cleaning, polishing, shampooing, etc. Grounds are kept beyond expectations; and I'm not the only one to say. Yes, I enjoy living here, it is my home.
