My dad became a resident of New Horizons at Marlborough recently and it has been a delightful transformation for him socially, mentally and emotionally. When we realized the need for assisted living I had spent quite a bit of time and research visiting other communities and none of them came even close to this wonderful community. We took the guided tour with Kathy M. who was very organized and detailed about the community. As we walked around we were greeted by many other residents who were all happy and curious about my dad's arrival. I even had the ability to speak with some of these lovely folks and it became apparent that they were all happy to be calling New Horizons their home. The staff has been extremely dedicated, kind, and caring. I am relieved to know that my dad has the proper nutritional chef-inspired meals daily and I am glad to know he is well cared for. He really enjoys the wide range of activities, the daily socialization and meeting new friends. I am no longer worried about his well being and it is a huge relief. Thank you to everyone at New Horizons and of course to Kathy, Kosta and Chris who were instrumental in dad's settling in. Audrey B.

I would like to commend the directors and entire staff in all departments at New Horizons for the hard work they have done this past year. I think I can speak for a lot of the people here at the 370 building when I say we have enjoyed all the new activities, entertainment, and four special events we had. The last being the Christmas Brunch which was a complete surprise to everyone. The beautiful decorations, a four course dinner, which was absolutely delicious and the service was outstanding. Providing periodic Covid 19 testing and making the various vaccine shots available right here in the building was both convenient and appreciated . These events and services will be hard to surpass and I look forward to what will be in store for 2024. Jan Alimenti

About two years ago I was in the unenviable position of deciding where to place my parents for senior living. They suffered from Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia and relied on me to make decisions. I was anxious about this responsibility. Ultimately, I decided to place them at New Horizons in Marlborough and it was the BEST decision I could have made. They were both so well cared for. The staff was remarkably loving and attentive. The entertainment, the delicious food, the varied activities, and the hugs and care all made the last two years of mom and dad’s lives so well-lived. The administration was so knowledgeable and willing to share their expertise. They advised me as to the best next steps all along the way- even when it was time for Hospice care. They were loving and concerned and approachable. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you New Horizons for your care. You are special people.

This is my 5-star review of New Horizons/ Marlborough Mass Research, Internal/External Facility Tours, along with Management/Resident Discussions are major factors when you are looking for a retirement facility that will fulfill your wants and needs. Our choice in selecting to move to New Horizons in Marlborough Mass was an easy decision for my wife and me. As perspective, future residents, we were able to complete the above listed topics with very positive results. The facility tour given by Kathy M. was very detailed, informative and pleasant. My wife and I were impressed with the decor, cleanliness, appearance of the various buildings, we viewed. The furnishings throughout each buildings common/function/activity rooms were stylish, comfortable and homey. During our guided tour with Kathy, we were greeted by several residents who were curious of our presence. Asking us if we were going to move in soon! After informing us of their many personal reasons why we would love this facility as they do. And all it offers to the residents. One of the many key areas each brushed upon. Was that of the amazing staff employed by New Horizons. Somewhere, along our tour I became more focused on listening to the sincere favorable praise given to the culinary staff for the meals and other offerings they produce. Which was confirmed by the residents and staff we spoke too during our tour, and the several other enjoyable visits, we attended there which is detailed next. New Horizons also provides their own seasonal cookouts during the summer for the residents and perspective residents which are happily invited to attend. During the later part of the season, they introduce their " Dine and Dash" which we enjoy very much as the setting is somewhat more comfortable and inviting. This is currently held inside the main building. During these times perspective residents are invited to meet with the resident volunteer "Ambassador Residents" along with other regular residents in answering nearly any question you may have at the time. My wife and I highly recommend that you attend these events as often as you can. The more you attend, the more knowledge and beneficial information you acquire. At each event you may/will meet another new group of residents that you can chat with. Ask questions you may have forgotten to ask at the previous Dine and Dash or summertime cookouts. We have attended four of these events and we are still learning more with each visit. Of course, we benefit by making new friends at the same time. You can learn so much from them. Local places of interest, good local restaurants, places to shop, suggested automotive repair sites, barbers, hairdressers etc. My wife and I look forward to our new beginnings at New Horizons. I would like to say that New Horizons in Marlborough, MA has exceeded my expectations. My dad became a resident 4 years ago and has had an excellent experience. The activities, especially the indoor pool, 3 fantastic meals per day and overall decor of this facility is top notch! Betsy & Tony, executive & assistant directors have always demonstrated professionalism with a nice touch of empathy & compassion. This was a cost effective move for him and gave him a sense of community. All of his needs were met, including an occasional haircut and WooSox game! He met some fantastic residents and often chatted with the staff. Well worth the investment in his care and well being! Thank you Betsy & Tony

I considered three retirement communities before selecting New Horizons. It fits my needs very well. It's large enough to have many activities but small enough to keep track of individuals. (I know this from personal experience; my health took a down-turn last year a New Horizons responded immediately.) The atmosphere is friendly and helpful; my brother noticed immediately.

We came from Newton, Massachusetts to independent living at New Horizons this past June. Leaving home and friends was a sad and often stressful experience, but it made sense because of emerging health concerns and the ever increasing difficulty of maintaining a large house. We looked at several different arrangements and cost structures for senior living. New Horizons was far and away the best option in terms of cost, range of activities that were offered, and the ease with which we could move to various levels of assisted living if we needed to. Positive, and obviously sincere testimonials from those already living here also factored strongly in our decision to relocate here. We were also familiar with the many accomplishments and unblemished reputation of the Cummings Foundation which oversees the operation at New Horizons. We knew that things would be well managed and above board if they were involved. There are plenty of solid and diverse activities here, and a monthly calendar enumerates all of them. We've been here less than 6 months and are already involved in efforts to bring Ma Jong and a Parkinson's support group to New Horizons. Several friends from Newton have come to visit us since we moved here. They had high praise for the layout of all the facilities and for the quiet solitude of our apartment. They were also impressed by the well-tended shrubbery, lawns and walkways. We particularly enjoy driving or hiking through the miles of nearby forests, wetlands, lakes and meadows that surround New Horizons. They are among the most breathtakingly beautiful in all of New England and we had no idea they even existed until we came to New Horizons. My wife and I moved here in June 2022. We’ve been very happy in our new home. The facility is well designed and maintained. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The meals are superb.

My dad moved here about 4.5 months ago and has been really happy with his choice. Other than an unexpected medical emergency which has thankfully resolved, it has been smooth sailing. He has met tons of people, enjoys the wine and cheese get togethers before dinner, and loves the food - a salad and fruit every day before dinner, a wonderful meal, and always a great dessert. Grounds are well maintained and activities are starting up again after the lull caused by COVID.

I have lived at New Horizons for three months, and I am happy to say that I have found this to be a wonderful community in which to live. From my first days here I experienced great kindness and a welcoming attitude. Since then, I find that everything possible is done to assist us in living daily life. The food served is delicious and nourishing, rides are provided to doctor appointments, interesting and enjoyable activities are planned for each day. Visitors are welcome, and may even have meals here if desired. I am grateful also for the beautiful Chapel we have in the center of the building. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, I am happy and grateful!!!

I love New Horizons in Marlboro! My parents moved in a few years ago. Unfortunately my mother passed away shortly after moving in but the community was so helpful during that time. People sent cards, came over with dinners and cookies. It really was helpful knowing that my father would be in a place with so many nice people. The staff has been great too. Now with Covid, I really appreciate how they have handled the whole situation. It has been hard on my Father and all of us since we couldn't see him for so long but NH had no cases for such a long time. Now everyone has there vaccine so we are hoping for things to open up soon. I would and have recommended NH to many friends

Rave reviews of NHM! Before, during, and after the move of my mother out of our 50+ year family home 1.5 years ago management and staff there could not have been more supportive and helpful. Her apartment and the facility are wonderful, and she has been taking full advantage of all the activities and amenities- staff there goes out of their way to take a personal interest in her and encourage her to join in, which has really helped get her engaged and motivated. She has raved since Day 1 about the food being "out of this world", and its gotten even more outstanding since Tony has been overseeing the dining room over the past several months. We could not have found a better place for her, and are very grateful to all who work there.

I have lived at New Horizons for years believe me you could not find a better community to fill every expectation of what you would like your life to be like living in a place that is gorgeous to begin with inside and out of the buildings and also to keep busy 7 days and nights a week if you’d like to and so important to keep you happy all the time is the staff who absolutely ROCK.

My parents have lived here for 5 years and are generally very happy. Positives - beautiful and well maintained grounds, cleaning services, responsive maintenance department, friendly staff. Negative - quality of food has gone downhill. My parents have claimed some of the meals were unattractive, not fresh and at times, inedible. They seem to only attend for the social aspect with other residents and the wait staff.

I live at New Horizons and researched several options before deciding on New Horizons at Marlborough. There is nothing like it, and it was a very easy decision to make. The apartments are larger than any I have seen, the staff is exceptional, the administration is extremely responsive, the buildings and grounds are constantly being cleaned, improved, kept up to date. I couldn't be happier with my decision. There are many, many activities including documentaries, movies every night, a chapel on site, full exercise room, numerous trips available, transportation to doctors' appointments, events, plays, local restaurants, etc. There is an indoor swimming pool, several libraries, and very friendly residents. I have yet to meet anyone who regrets moving here.
