Oak Park village has been taking care of my mom for five years. I have seen several executive directors and staff turnover but essentially there is a very family atmosphere that makes me feel that mom is at home away from home. The staff is very caring and attentive. The nursing care is very good and we have wonderful resident assistances That sometimes my sassy mom likes better than her own daughter! Recently she has fallen several times and they have given her excellent care with two emergency room visits. When something needs fixing maintenance tries to please so much. My mom loves our marketer and she loves to know about all of their families and children. She wants to be in her own house but they try very hard to make her happy and give me peace of mind. My mom is Janice Schwartz . In the beginning she was the ambassador of the place and the Mardi Gras queen! Thank you so much her daughter Paula Powell

Oak Park Village at Slidell has to be the go to senior living community in Louisiana! The community provides you with a home like feel that other communities don't provide! The rooms are spacious and even have a full kitchenette! The staff at Oak Park is amazing and is always accommodating to anything the resident or family might need at any given time. I HIGHLY recommend Oak Park Village at Slidell to anyone looking for senior living for themselves or a loved one!

I've lived here for nearly 3 years and can honestly say I've been very happy to be here!! The staff is amazing and always willing to help in any number of ways. Their attitude is always cheerful and helpful. The managers are also amazing and not only do their jobs but also pitch in wherever help is needed. Thank you to everyone working here for giving me such a pleasant home!!!

Really do your research before bringing your loved one here. Don’t let the bells and whistles fool you. It’s a “private” facility I.e not Medicaid. Yes it’s nice if person can live by themselves or need some help. When one needs more help not the place for them. The Staff Dr. Dr Snyder (spelling ?) is totally incompetent. Beware. Also be aware of med-nurse Carol. She incompetent and uncaring. If you notice they have been seeking RA’S CNS’S and Dietary cooks for awhile..see their Facebook page. Just my experience with this place as I would not recommend.

I was searching for assistant living homes for my brother as we want to move him closer to home. I called, nice lady in the phone took my info and said she would call me back, I felt a good energy so I decided just to ride by… upon walking into the home, Chuck greeted me as if Ive known him my whole life. He was actually getting information from my call and was working on it, impressive. Btw, I just called 3-5 mins before hand. Walking into this retreat or a fairly tale. The assist living areas were well thought out…looks like a small town with coffee shop, parlor etc. its a must see. Words cant bring it justice. Although we arent able to financially fund this living, Chuck still went out of his way to help me, he sent me info on places that could possibly meet our price range. Im just trying to give my twin brother (38 years old) a better way of life other then a nursing home.Thank you Chuck and the Front Desk Receptionist for your attitude of gratitude❤

I live at Oak Park Village and I find the atmosphere is awesome with activities going on for everyone.There is NEVER a dull moment with activities planned for a group and - or for an individual.Always has assistants on duty round the Clock for whatever an individual or a group might require; from meals, games, salon needs, nurses, religious, and socials to name a few. From the moment of check in to the facility to the rest of your stay each individual is treated like a king - queen. Animals are allowed with the proper paperwork with a Fee. Couples are encouraged and a family like atmosphere is of top priority.

My mother has lived here for several years, there are a couple of staff members that have been there the whole time. This is a smaller facility which has the advantage of staff getting to know you (especially the outstanding receptionist, and a couple of caregivers and the head nurse) and reduces the chance for spread of disease since we are living in the age of COVID19. Id also like to point out that we have been fortunate during COVID19 to have bi weekly telecons with the director. That has really been helpful for those of us that cant visit due to restrictions during the virus break out. None of my other friends with family in long term care have had this benefit.

My family member truly enjoyed living in the Lore Village memory care unit. He called it " my place" and always looked forward to going home after a busy outing with the family. The staff are great and the accommodations are stimulating and pleasant.

We're very pleased with how things have turned out at Live Oak Village! The staff here is friendly, professional, and very attentive to the needs of the residents! I visit all the time, and I'm always impressed with how often the staff check in on everyone! Not only do they frequently check in on Mom, they meet with me once a month just to give me an update on how everything is going and to ask if there's anything else I would like for them to be doing.

I like it very much they are very friendly and very helpful. If you ask for anything they are right on it. The food is usually pretty good. I like it because they were not as expensive as some, and there is no extra charge for a small pet.
