We are at the end of our ride here at Sunrise. It has been a great experience with interaction, visiting, attending events or activities. The care has been exceptional. The staff listens to the concerns of the family and looks for resolution. My mother has done well here. At the end , I've been allowed to go through transition with mom , however long it takes, in the comfort of the house-like , private room. The costs are comparable to other assisted living facilities in the area . I highly recommend this place.

Sunrise has been a blessing for my dad. The staff has consistently worked to keep myself and the rest of his family informed of what is going on with his care. The staff is like a second family to us. Rosalyn, Crystal, and Ruthie are next level great and make it feel like home for my dad. I'm not sure where we would be without Sunrise!!!

Thank you, Sunrise at Siegen - Baton Rouge The Swick family would like to thank Sunrise at Siegen Assisted Living Facility in Baton Rouge and its Executive Director Brent Sellers for their loving care of our family member - Mr. Swick. Our family began researching senior living facilities that offered long-term and comprehensive care in the Denham Springs and Baton Rouge areas of Louisiana for or loved one. We reviewed nursing care homes, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing care centers and senior retirement homes. Plus, we read the online reviews posted on Google and other search engines. A majority of the senior retirement centers offered different levels of care and a variety of amenities. Some places looked luxurious with nice furnishings and lots of social activities and amenties but their online reviews told a different story about poor care for their senior residents. One surprise, that we found in researching the senior living options options was many of these senior facilities with full-time comprehensive care were a similar price to what we'd been paying for independent living with part-time daily caregivers. The comprehensive senior care facilities were more affordable then we'd thought. After many hours of research including - making phone calls, referrals from friends, reading online reviews posted on Google and other search engines, and talking with "A Place for Mom" (a senior living referral service) plus touring several senior facilities, we made our decision. Our research lead us to Sunrise at Siegen in Baton Rouge, Lousiana. We moved Mr. Swick to Sunrise at Siegen when he was 94 years old. During the in-take process, we'd been advised by Sunrise experts that the move would initially be confusing for him. The move did prove to be challenging, and also quite confusing. At times, my husband's father would become confused and think he was living in a hotel or hospital, and he could get quite "spirited". Brent and his team never lost their patience or temper. They were always caring, kind to Mr. Swick. My husband's father received attentive care at Sunrise Siegen. When health problems would arise from time to time, the facility did a good job of getting Gene the care that he needed - and in a timely manner. They also followed up and kept our family updated with phone calls and emails. The staff at the assisted living facility was always helpful along with having a positive attitude. At Sunrise, you'll notice that every detail is thoughtfully considered. When we brought my husband's father to live at Sunrise at Siegen, they had placed a framed sign near the front door of his apartment that said "Pampa". This is the special name that Mr. Swick's grandchildren called him. This was a nice touch and thoughtful detail. We were glad that my husband's father was able to maintain his freedom and his independence at Sunrise Siegen - while also having his additional health and personal needs taken care of at the facility. Sunrise Senior Living in Baton Rouge has a tiered system where you can add "extra care" services (that cost additional) to traditional assisted living care. Some of these "extra care" services include - assistance with bathing, dressing, and help with eating meals, etc. My husband calls it an "A La Carte" menu of additional care. This allowed us the peace of mind of not having to place Mr. Swick in a more restrictive nursing home environment. He was able to keep his independent and active lifestyle with lots of amenities and activities - while also receiving top level care with the extra assistance that he needed - and all in a compassionate, positive and caring environment. Steve and I would like to highly recommend Sunrise at Siegen in Baton Rouge, LA. If your family has a senior or loved one that needs extra care and attention. We believe Sunrise at Siegen, Brent Sellers and his staff will exceed your expectations plus give your loved one the care they deserve - while giving you peace of mind.

I have volunteered for Sunrise at Siegen many times through out the span of 7 years, and every time I go I am amazed at how wonderful this place is!! They always have a pleasant and courteous staff, and the residents always seem happy and well cared for. I have happened to be there a couple of times for meal, and the food is always delicious! I love going during the Christmas season, they always have it decorated to the nines with so many activities planned for residents including many that include their families, as well as throughout the year. As always it's always so clean when you enter, and has this great smell of home.

I was very sad when my sisters and I made the decision to put my mother into an assisted living facility. But I never even dreamed of how happy this decision would make my mother! She always tells us how happy she is. The staff are always doing things with my mother to stimulate her mind, exercise and great fellowship. They had a Mardi Gras parade at the facility yesterday and I want to give a HUGE shout out to Marlene at the front desk and especially for Kim organizing the parade, music and festivities! It was clear to me how the residents really enjoyed this activity and Kim for making it look effortless! Wow! She's such a hard worker! I'm so glad for this decision to put her into Sunrise on Siegen/Baton Rouge.

I recently visited Sunrise at Siegen, looking for a possible place for my aunt. I was really impressed with the cleanliness, friendly staff and beautiful decor. This place looks like a beautiful, traditional mansion inside, instead of the expected "institutional" look. My guide, Tracy, made me feel welcome with her knowledge and kindness. After a through discussion of my aunt's needs, I left feeling that she would be well taken care of here. I've moved Sunrise at Siegen to the top of my list.

My parents have thrived here! Great communication from the staff to family, and with me in another state, this is peace of mind. Caregivers, nursing staff, administrators all share a calling, and are truly there for the residents. I see respect and humor and positive outlooks every time I drop in, as well as professionalism and ethics. A small glimpse of life? I ordered my dad a new watch, and knew he would need help activating it. I emailed the director and mentioned my dad would need help, when it was delivered, so that he could give staff a heads up. The director himself walked the package down, opened it with my dad and they did it together. Not many bosses would take the time to do that. Sunrise (Siegen) is an exceptional facility that I am happy to recommend.

My Mom (Bernice Newton) loved this place and she was very picky. She was "checked" on at least three times a day, under the guise of emptying her trash cans. Sunrise was accommodating when it came to moving in her furniture. She could bring whatever she wanted. The employees were caring. She did not have dimentia but just needed a place & companionship. Her stay there lasted three years. No complaints. When my time arrives, I'll move to Sunrise.

Young members of a Color Guard team visited the Residents at SunRise on Siegen Lane to honor and inspire Veterans, who also reside here. What a moment to be present for such a remarkable event. Patriots at such young ages. A young man told me that he is Home Schooled and this team came together from various places to form a cohesive Color Guard. The coordinator ensured me and my brother that the Team would conduct a special visit for our father upon completion of their mission before the entire group of residents. She was such an excited and exuberant person. The young and the vintaged; inspiring one another. Honor to the Veterans and sponsors of all Veterans Day celebrations during Nov 2019!

Having toured this facility, and placed a family member in a Sunrise facility closer to my sister living in Baton Rouge, I found it very home-like in its environment. The staff was friendly and welcoming and seemed well-trained and caring with residents. The Manager has many years experience dealing with the various challenges of aging and strives to hire employees who are truly compassionate with elderly. I believe this facility is not controlled by their bottom line, ignoring the needs of their residents.

I don't typically review places, but I recently moved my mother from another Assisted Living to Sunrise on Siegen due to being unhappy with her care there. Since we have been at Sunrise, the only thing that I regret is how long I waited to move her! Thank you all for the wonderful care and compassion that you have not only given to my mother, but also our family. I am also happy that I disregarded some of the google reviews when making my decision. I always take note and typically overlook family member reviews that voice their unhappiness, but for some reason leave their loved ones there. If I truly felt that my loved ones needs weren't being met, they would not remain in that living environment. Thank you to the Sunrise staff for making us feel like family!
