Drawing from my professional background in death services, I have seen a wide spectrum of care facilities, and while this establishment is far from the worst, it is currently falling short in key operational areas. Regular resident complaints regarding the poor quality of the meals have unfortunately gone unheeded. Furthermore, routine maintenance appears neglected, as evidenced by the frequent breakdown of the facility's laundry equipment. Given the current condition and standards of the facility, the current pricing structure feels difficult to justify considering the noticeable gaps in fundamental daily services.

I visited Vitality yesterday and was so impressed. The facility is extremely well kept and beautifully decorated for Christmas ” it gave such a warm, homey feeling the moment I walked in. Tina gave me a tour of the community, and she was absolutely lovely. She was sweet, informative, and made sure to cover every detail. I truly appreciate her time and the opportunity to tour the community. I would definitely recommend Vitality to my loved ones.

Mom is a recent resident of Memory Care. The facility is top notch with a beautiful enclosed outdoor walking space and garden. A great memory care director who plans appropriate and thoughtful activities throughout the day. I’m so happy mom is safe and well cared for at Vitality Stony Brook

We've had a good experience with both the assisted living and memory care units. Staff is skilled and keep up with their duties. Food is good, and service is both dining room and inside units.

At a time when our senior adults slow down in their active lifestyles, Vitality Living Stony Brook provides a safe environment for a variety of fun and stimulating activities. The staff is professional, friendly and accommodating and treats everyone with respect. My mother-in-law was apprehensive about moving there in June but has grown stronger and healthier and has become part of an extended family. Vitality welcomes and encourages participation from family members and plans many events to include not only residents and family members but also the community in general.

The food is awful. They serve cold food to the residents. The coffee isn't good and the creamer I used was curdled. Service is slow in the dining room. It may take 40 - 50 minutes to be served. That could be the reason the food is cold. The rooms in certain areas are outdated and smell like a wet basement that hasn't been used in years. However, the daily activities keep the residents busy and engaged. That is a huge factor when choosing a facility.

Atria Stony Brook is an assisted living facility. They also feature a life guidance section which cares for people suffering from different forms of dementia. The staff are very caring towards the residents and go out of their way to know and speak to everyone. They have a nice dining area and feature a very ample and flexible menu to choose from. The grounds are well maintained and there are several areas for sitting outside. If you have a family member in need of care you should take a look at Atria Stony Brook.

My father-in-law was a resident there for 3 1/2 years and his care was top notch! Everyone was kind, caring, patient and like family. He lived in both the assisted living area and the "Memory Care" section. We were blessed to know that he was so wonderfully cared for when we were not there. I highly recommend this facility to everyone.

I thank God everyday that I can live and thrive here at Atria Stony Brook. All members of the staff make me feel welcome and a part of the Atria family. It is hard to say who the one member would be my favorite but, since food is such an important part of the day, the waiter named Patrick goes out of his way to be warm and friendly and really strives to please every one. When things were really rough one time and my order not taken for over 30 minutes because I was behind one of the pillars in the dining room and could not be seen, from another location to which he was assigned, he saw me leaving and asked why. I told him and he begged me to come back and he would take care of my order. It came promptly and well prepared. He is like this all the time for everyone. Wish I could put everyone on this list. They all deserve it!!! Thanks for giving me/us the opportunity to recognize someone special.
