I had the opportunity to complete my physical therapy clinical rotation at Life Care Center of Wichita, and it was an outstanding experience. From day one, the staff was welcoming, supportive, and genuinely invested in both patient care and student learning. The therapy team created an environment that challenged me to grow clinically while always providing guidance and encouragement. I was able to work with a diverse patient population and gain valuable hands-on experience in skilled nursing and rehabilitation. The therapists consistently demonstrated evidence-based practice, professionalism, and compassion, which made them excellent mentors. What stood out most was the facility's commitment to patient-centered care. Every member of the interdisciplinary team worked together to help residents achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. It was inspiring to see the positive relationships that staff built with patients and families. We are so grateful for Life Care in Edgemoor. My husband received kind and expert care. The Therapy department has skilled and hardworking therapists that move mountains to find the best way to help residents regain mobility. The management was extremely efficient, therapy did not miss days. There was always a huge effort to fill in with capable therapist when Doug’s main therapist was briefly unavailable. A great thing about inpatient therapy here is that PT, OT and Speech can find their patients at meals, in bed, or other circumstances in life situations to help them meet goals for care. Therapy works together with nurses and floor techs to give continuity of therapy goals and needs. I believe God led us here, we are grateful he was admitted here. I believe we found the best facility in the region for Doug’s short term care. We made many friends here. The people in the cafeteria carefully work to make residents feel this is their home and have meals as they like. Nurses watched Doug’s care closely and skillfully cared for him so he was in the best shape possible. We are so glad for the time Doug spent here.

My experience with the rehabilitation staff has been great in the sense that the instructions that they give have a significant value because they know very well all that you have to do to become stronger, in body and in mind. Sometimes the struggle is functional but many times is of the mind. The staff is experienced and will help you realize your potential. My father is in the Memory care section. They staff are wonderful with him. He fell at home in June and was in the hospital for a month before arriving here. He has a couple back fractures and a broken ankle. The staff are careful when they move him and help him stay as comfortable as possible. They do the transportation to his doctor appointments. They call me with changes and if I wish to attend his appointments. He has been here since Aug 5, 2025. So I'm still learning everyone's name. I would recommend this place

I really would like to give 5 stars. I have given 5 stars in the past. The nursing staff was outstanding. I appreciate the care they gave my mother. However, my mother was not able to go home after rehab. She had to go into a facility. The problem was they were dismissing her Sunday and NO PLACE does intakes on Sunday (that staff is not available). They knew that. They charged her a full charge to stay a night she had NO CHOICE to do. They did not work with the family or the facility intaking her. Instead they gouged an elderly patient with zero choices. Very disappointing.

My dad has Lewey body dementia and Parkinson’s dementia and had a stroke. He got moved here after a stay at the hospital for two weeks. He is in the memory care unit, everyone here has been so amazing. My mom and my sister and I have been trying to take of my dad for a while now, but we couldn’t keep up with it, and we are so very thankful for everyone here from the front desk to the cnas to nurses. They have taken such good care of our dad, and for that we are so very thankful.

I think the rehab organ at Lifecare of Wichita is excellent. They have strengthened my legs and increased my safety with ambulation. Andrew worked with me on completing a 6 minute walk of several occasions and also worked with me on stairs which helps when I am able to go home for visits. Natalie and Andrew worked with compression for my lymphedema. I have legs again not tree stumps. It Maggie Christina and Mercedes helped after my fall and finger pinning. DEC 16, 2023 I met with the director and head of nursing to voice my concerns. Food service is questionable, you never get your full request. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. DEC 9, 2023 Day 2: AGAIN called a liar when I questioned my medication. Was told I was given medication this AM that I never received. Then was told I refused medication that was never given. I told the nurse to stop talking down to me because I know what did and did not happen. Pure attitude, had to have a shouting match at 10:45 pm in the hallway and her walking away bad mouthing me. I asked for a supervisor and was told she was one. No one was called. I had to go to the desk and the two employees there, actually looked up my medication. NONE WERE REFUSED. I have two I can't take together and told them LAST night that I would just take one of them. Needless to say patient advocate at the VA and here will be contacted and a formal complaint will be made. DO NOT BRING ANYONE HERE. DEC 8, 2023 Day 1: Worse place ever. My first day here, never had orientation. Was left in my room for 2.5 hours with no one speaking to me. My knee scooter for mobility was pushed in the corner where I couldn't reach it. Was call a liar by the manager when I was told I refused my food tray that was never delivered. When I asked to confront the person, they weren't available. When it came to my antibiotics , the reason I'm here, I was called a liar again when I told the manager I needed it 3 times a day. My son had to go in and ask them to call the VA to check.because he was told by the VA the same thing. I'm a vet and will not be treated like a second class citizen. Thank God I have all my facilities and can fight for myself. Place is dirty. Ceiling tiles are nasty and about to fall down.

The staff at Lifecare treated me great almost like I was family! I can't think the employees enough for all they helped me with. After having 2 vertadbra spread back apart and screws and plates put in my spine #5&6 in my neck. I went to life center for rehab. To learnto walk again. I've been home 3 weeks. The team of people they have are mostly very positive to help with your recovery. I had a favorite rehab worker she could talk to me and get me to push myself Janelle I couldn't even get out of bed when I got there. I told them from the start I was walking out of there when I was done. I did with a walker 3 weeks later I can stand up walk around my house walk up and down stairs. Still a little wobbly sometimes. I use a Cain. When I go out now but it beats being paralized. I wouldn't be where I am today with out the rehab team. I kinda miss having people to talk to. They need to build a couple gazebo's in the back one for smoking and one for none smokers. Let people outside or have the opertuniity to get some fresh air dayly. They feed you pretty good most of it taste good. Depends on your tastes really. The social workers are very helpful when you have a grevence Dana got tired of me I think. Always remember you are your own advocate for your health care. Voice your opinion be open to change.

If you have loved ones in a nursing home and they. Complain of being neglected or mistreated, listen to them and believe that it is happening. Do not go with what an administrator is telling you. They are paid to cover it up and they do that by making you believe that neglect is not happening and try to make it sound like that the resident is doing something wrong.
