Warning to families: Lack of transparency and leadership issues I am writing this to urge other families to be cautious when considering Avita for their loved ones. Our experience with the leadership team has been deeply concerning. Absentee Administration: The Administrator is consistently unavailable, remaining behind closed doors and making zero effort to engage with residents or build relationships with families. Dishonest Nursing Leadership: The two Directors of Nursing (DONs) have proven to be unreliable. We found them to be misleading and dishonest regarding care and protocols on multiple occasions. Retaliatory Environment: There is a "shut up or leave" culture here. When residents or family members advocate for better care by asking questions or filing complaints, the facility responds by discharging the resident rather than addressing the concerns. If you are looking for a facility that values open communication and treats residents with respect, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

In my personal experience, Avita Assisted Living Rolling Hills did not provide the level of care or consistency I expected for my mother. Staffing was unreliable, with frequent use of agency employees who did not know the residents, and administration seemed distant and disconnected from the daily lives of those in their care. I also felt families were not always given clear or accurate information about what care could and could not be provided, which led to frustration and concern. Even simple details, such as leaving visitor parking open for families, were overlooked. To make matters worse, administration was only available during limited hours (9–4), which left me wondering how residents’ needs were supposed to be addressed outside of that narrow window. My mother is no longer at this facility, but I continue to worry about the well-being of those who remain. I share my experience so that other families can carefully weigh their options and ensure their loved ones are placed in a truly safe and supportive environment

We have had several family members residing at Avita over the past 8 years, in assisted living and memory care both. All of them have received wonderful care and support from the staff and the other assisted living residents. The staff has always gone the extra mile to help our family members be happy and engaged with life.

Having worked at this location I have found a staff that sincerely cares about the residents. I have been in other facilities and did not see the same kind of caring. The med aides and CNAs are a great team and are very dedicated to their jobs. The building is fantastic and comfortable. Dont hesitate to look at Avita if you are looking for a place for self or loved one.

The staff at Avita are all very kind and caring. They truly care about their residents and each other from the floor all the way up to their management team. They have handled the pandemic very well and have kept our loved one safe by following the guidelines.The facility is always clean and well maintained. Everyone we have came into contact with has always been pleasant and helpful with anything our family has ever needed. The Avita Assisted Living Facility is wonderful---the nurses, staff and management are kind, professional and caring. They take special care of my uncle and his service dog and always contact me if there is anything I need to know or do for either of them. My Mom stayed there for nearly 5 years. She fell a number of times and the last time broke her arm. I dont think there is enough staff to care for the patients. We moved her out and when we moved the bed found bed bugs on the wall behind the bed. She was in the memory care unit but had now been moved to a much nicer place.

Mom was here for almost 6yrs, she fell a month ago and they didnt know how long she was there, she had a compound fracture, then she went to rehab. during rehab Avita told the rehab they basically didnt want her back that she needed skilled care, and didnt tell us, my husband called got it confirmed, we had 4 days to find her a place, really sad!
