There was good and bad things for sure. But when we got close to the discharge date we had to figure out hospice stuff. They helped us find a hospice and helped with the setup. But minutes after we signed hospice stuff the Social Worker came in and said we had to be out the next day because she refused physical therapy for a couple days. She had refused physical therapy before when in pain, that happens, and she's on pain meds. There was no warning or prep discussions with us. Just the moments after the hospice evaluation and that hard decision they told us we have to go. Not even giving hospice enough time to deliver equipment is very very cold and careless

My sister moved into Shawnee Parc a few weeks ago, and we could not be happier we found this place. The staff ... from reception, administrative director, case worker, activity director, nursing staff, even the maintenance guy ... have been amazing. Everyone is welcoming and friendly, and there to help you with anything you need. Shawnee Parc is clean, bright, and has a vibrant and energetic feel, a huge plus compared to other places we toured. She is loving the food and the selection is great. Kudos to Shawnee Parc for setting your standard of care high! Grateful and appreciative for your attention to detail!

We recently moved my mother from a facility in Kansas City to Shawnee Post Acute and Rehabilitation Center. Every step of the process from initial outreach through transfer was seamless. Every member of the staff I interacted with was pleasant, helpful and punctual. We are so relieved that my mom is in a better place as this facility is extremely nice and full of amenities. We were very pleased we chose Shawnee PARC as the facility for my mother to recuperate after her hospital stay. Everyone was very pleasant and professional and also cared for her recovery. We would definitely choose this place again!!

I would like to personally thank Cena Mitchell and the entire staff at Shawnee PARC. Cena and staff delivered on EVERYTHING they told my brother and I they would do pertaining to our mothers care. My only regret is that he and I did not move Mom to Shawnee PARC sooner. The patience, care, attention to detail for Moms personal healthcare needs far exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Shawnee PARC! My brother and I cannot thank Cena and staff enough!

My mother has been a resident here for several months. I live some distance away and have been to visit her only twice. The difference in her health, both physically and mentally is phenomenal! She is happier than she has been in years. Many years. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that her care is a number 1 priority with the staff. However... the cooks are, more often than not, unable to adhere to the nutrition plan because the food provider is struggling to provide. This is a stupid problem to have. Also, I am unable to communicate with my mother without having to be directed to the nurses station, pulling them away from their work to take the phone and hand it directly to her. The phone is for the nurses station. Many times, the nurses will surrender their own private phone to accommodate me. Like I said, the staff is phenomenal. My mother HAS a phone in her room. It works. BUT NO ONE CAN SEEM TO PROVIDE ME WITH THE PROPER NUMBER TO HER DIRECT LINE. Today a nurse, who was very likely busy, told me my mother's phone worked. I tried to explain that it didn't. This is the same conversation I have over and over. Work orders are written. Nothing changes. The situation is causing unnecessary tension between myself and the staff. If it is not addressed, it could trickle down to my mother. I would not recommend this facility to anyone, regardless of my mother's amazing care and recovery. This facility is headed to darker days because it wont fully address the most basic issues of operations.

Awesome place to go for a short rehab stay or for long term care or assisted living! Staff are welcoming and caring. They have private rooms for rehab and some for LTC as well! Even the semiprivate rooms offer each person their own four walls with the only shared space being the bathroom.

My friend is in for rehab yesterday she had to go to the bathroom she turned on the light for the nurses at 1:30 they never came I had to take her to the bathroom and clean her, still all this time no one came but when I left at 2:30 to go to work there were 5 nurses at the nurse's station b*******. Also sometimes you can hear the elderly scream help help help I understand sometimes they really don't need help but at least go check on them. There is so much wrong with this place I cannot wait till my friend gets out

My grand dad discharged yesterday and I'm so impressed with this facility. He has been in alot of facilities and this was by far the best. Usually when my grandad returns home he has skin wounds on his bottom and looses weight and I have to get him back healthy. This time he did not have any skin issues and he even gained a few pounds. I notice these things because I work in healthcare. I'm so thankful that I don't have to do the things I did before. Thank you so much to the Nurses and CNAs.

I have been very impressed with the level of care and service. The staff has been very attentive to the needs of my parents. They keep me informed of changes in health, COVID-19 protocol changes, and how to address changes in services. Cena, Marcie, Winnie, Brenda, and Sonia have been excellent! Thank you to all of the staff who have worked tirelessly through an extremely difficult time with COVID-19 along with the passing of my father.

The first couple times my mom was there was good only because of therapy. They don't make the residences follow a diet even if ordered from a physician. There is not good contact with the family at all!! I was only informed of my moms suicidal threat AFTER she was released, and needed to go back for therapy, and they denied her due to the fact that "We don't get paid when she's on a one on one basis with a nurse" ok then why didn't they call and let me know?? I made it clear i was dealing with my own medical issues and couldn't get up there, but Still they didn't call and let me know!! My mom is hard of hearing and its hard to talk to her on the phone so I rely on the nursing staff to keep me informed!! I'm beyond livid not knowing my mom had an episode of her suicidal thoughts....you would THINK that's important enough to inform the family about, but i guess not!!

I came to Shawnee PARC after I broke my ankle and needed physical therapy. I was there for 39 days. I had to remind myself that we were living in a COVID world and the way things were done during my stay were different than normal. Masks, quarantine, etc. If you're looking a "resort" facility I would look further. But, I got what I needed which was excellent physical therapy. All of my needs were met everyday. If this is what you're looking for, I would recommend Shawnee PARC.

My mom was here for a few days and was very happy with the disposition and attitudes of the staff here. She reports that caregivers were very kind and professional in their interactions with her. The downside was that during the night there was not adequate staffing to promptly meet the needs of all the residents. Due to this less than optimal caregiver to patient ratio she sometimes had to wait too long for assistance to the bathroom. This is the sole reason I'm not giving more stars in this review. My mother had to be transferred to another facility for reasons unrelated to Shawnee PARC, and manager Brianna was enormously helpful with this transition. Brianna helped my brother and I locate another suitable facility and coordinated the transfer process. That relieved us of a great deal of stress because prior to Brianna's assistance we'd be under the (erroneous) impression that our mother had no options left for the level of care she needs.

My mother was released today and had spent close to two months there for a broken leg. The nursing staff was amazing for the most part and therapy was also amazing. I do have a problem however with the fact that no administrator or DON bother to come out of their offices to initiate a rapport with the family members or the individual staying there for quite a while. I've never seen this happen before and I have worked in facilities such as this. It was as if they just stayed in their offices, not to be seen or heard. I find that unacceptable. It's also unacceptable to have the family member take the family member home with no assistance from anyone in the facility. One nurse named June offered to help. Other than that no one helped and I don't understand that. You cannot leave a hospital unattended without a staff member so why is that different? So with that being said the people that work themselves to death do a great job and are constantly by themselves or working short but they get the job done while the higher-ups sit in their offices and hide and don't bother to communicate or interact with the residents or the patients in rehab. That should change, it doesn't look good for the company. I brought in pies for the staff and for therapy and that was a waste of my money because for the most part it was just overlooked. And I had done it out of appreciation for caring for my mother. I gave you four stars but it's not because of the company is for the few that helped my mother and that would be all of therapy and the day shift I never received much interaction with the evening shift as I was never there. But I really think that you need to re-evaluate how you discharged people and let them know that you're glad that they're going home instead of just watching him walk down the hall without even a word. And I also think you should re-evaluate how the higher-ups handle the place, they need to interact with the residents and the clients that come in there that are the reason you have jobs.

My 50 year old brother has lived here for 10 months. He loves it here - he loves the environment, culture and staff. It's been such a great experience that our father has moved into an apartment on the third floor! He has no complaints.

Everyone is so amazing and they are so nice. My grandma has been there twice. All of the physical and occupational therapists are so nice and they are so understanding! The Healthcare Resort of Shawnee Mission is a great place and they have amazing staff!

Really nice place. I absolutely loved it when I toured it. For weeks I tried so hard to get my dad into this facility. I talked to a lot of nice people over the phone, and they all got my hopes up that my dad could call their place home. I continued to follow-up with them and leave voicemails, but they would never get back to me. My mom also tried to contact the place several times as well, but they never got back to her. I'm sure the folks there mean well, but I feel like if you don't meet a certain criteria, they really don't want to have anything to do with you. Even if they couldn't accept my dad, they could have at least returned my calls and told me. Because of this lack in professionalism I'm rating them with two stars.

After visiting many facilities in the Kansas City/Overland Park area, I would not choose another facility over The Healthcare Resort of Shawnee Mission. From the second you walk in, you feel at home. The therapy department is fantastic, nursing staff is very knowledgeable and responsive, and the administrative is top notch. Definitely the best place for rehabilitation in Overland Park.

First, I would like to say, I have been to SEVERAL different centers in Missouri and Kansas that serve the same purpose as Healthcare Resort. When I first walked into the HCR, I was taken away by how extraordinary it is. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The more I learned about HCR, the more I absolutely loved the center. I have never met a team so passionate and caring about their patients as they are. Its an incredible place and I highly recommend everyone to stop by and see it for themselves. If you have a loved one who needs a place to live, or skilled rehab, consider HCR as your only option because there is no comparison around!!
