My sister recently moved into Novel Place. From the first time we toured it, Deborah and the staff went out of their way to answer all our questions. Due to a lengthy hospital stay we had to reschedule her move in date several times and they always were so understanding and accommodating. Since she has moved in the residents have made her feel very welcome. There are so many activities to choose from and the meals are very good and nicely presented. Novel Place is an outstanding independent senior living facility.

Highest recommendation to the entire team at Novel Place for making my mom's move there so seamless. Deborah was very helpful in making it all come together from the best real estate service, moving, and handyman referrals to identifying the unit that worked best. The apartment was spotless upon move-in, the instructions clear, and the staff (from operations to maintenance to dining etc) all so welcoming. Also the new neighbors are very friendly, offering to help get familiar with the community and its many amenities. Even the cable TV setup was straightforward. The meals are delicious too. Family members helping with the move also felt so welcome by staff and residents alike. Novel Place is a cheerful and comfortable place to live in a great neighborhood. Thanks so much.

Before I became an exercise instructor at Novel Place we moved my mother in there. She could not be happier. I tell absolutely everyone how perfect this place is in every way. it is beautiful and looks like a boutique hotel. The apartments are spacious with high ceilings. The common areas are beautifully decorated and inviting. The chef is top notch and puts forth fabulous high-end meals you would get in a restaurant. The activities available are countless. My sister, husband and I toured Novel Place along with our mom just about two years ago. We were so impressed, Mom chose her new apartment home that day and moved in a few weeks later. They have been consistently focused on their residents' needs and are so caring and personal. They really listen to their residents - whether it's about possible menu changes, activities, or really anything, they listen, and respond in a way that shows how much they care. This truly is a very unique and "novel" approach to senior living. Mom is SO happy there and we are happy that she is so happy!

We found Novel Place last year after looking for an ideal place to live! We loved it for so many reasons! This facility is just a few years old and our first impression as we came through the front doors was "Yes, finally"! It was bright, cheery, beautiful and there were happy smiling people everywhere! Debora greeted us, told us everything we wanted to know, and showed us a beautiful 2 BR, 2BA apartment that we loved, looking out onto the courtyard and on the first floor. We knew this was the place for us and she did everything necessary to get the apartment for us, even though it took us longer than normal to finalize things with our home in Colorado. She even came in on Saturday to meet us and give us our keys after our long drive and we were able to stay the night in the guest suite to rest before our truck arrived on Sunday. We love it here! We love the residents! No sad and lonely people here. The food is good with lots of choices and alternatives. Everything is organized and there is so much to do every day. The administrative staff is A+ and always looking out for each of us,. They are friendly, always smiling and know us all by name, which we love! Our family has been amazed and glad we have found such a lovely place to spend our Golden Years. "THIS IS OUR HAPPY PLACE" and we are so grateful to have found Novel Place!

The first impression at Novel Place when you come through the front door is a definite wow factor, and the feeling of elegance. My aging, single father moved into NP 5 months ago, with failing health, and it has been such a positive transformation for him and our entire family. His health has improved dramatically with regular meals, exercise , activities and being around friends. Having consistent, delicious meals is such an amazing and critical benefit to an elder who doesn't cook. He looks forward to meals and enjoys the quality staff and company of fellow residents. All service providers have been professional, courteous and prompt. The building is lovely, nice decor, with elegant, new design.... a really pleasant place to be all around. All of the other tenants in the building are extremely kind and a fun loving community of friends, making it a pleasure to be there. My father thoroughly enjoys his apartment, and neighbors and all of the helpful staff. It really is a warm, loving community that has thought of everything.

My mom is moving into Novel Place. We chose this community because it's a smaller footprint, it's newer, and it's affordable for someone who's on a fixed income. The rooms were beautiful. They have activities, they have a bus service, and they provide meals. We talked with several residents and they were quite happy with the food and the service. Their staff was fabulous, and the people we worked with were remarkable. It's a very clean facility.

When my parents made the decision earlier this year to move out of the family home that they had lived in for 60 years and downside into an independent senior living apartment, we began looking at options in the area. Mom had looked at Novel Place earlier and really liked it, so we made an appointment for a full tour. Deborah Coda, the Marketing Director, sat down with us, answered all our questions, and gave us a complete tour of the facility which included introductions to many of the friendly staff and to see an available apartment. Some of the residents even invited us into their apartments for us to see how the living spaces can be furnished. Mom and dad have been living in their apartment for three months now. They absolutely love their new place. The whole facility is modern looking, beautifully decorated and in my mom's favorite colors. Dad talks about how great the food tastes. They both have enjoyed getting to know their new neighbors. Everyone we have met are pleasant and happy with Novel Place. We always enjoy our visits with the residents. Mom likes having extended family members over to show off their new place and hang out in one of the many gathering spaces. We all have been super pleased and happy with our decision to make Novel Place my parents' new home.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I wouldn't live anywhere else. Although I'm probably 15 years younger than most here, I don't feel the least bit out of place. In fact, I feel pampered every day and glad that I made this decision to free myself from home ownership headaches. The management are great leaders, listen to the residents' ideas and suggestions, and truly embrace their mission to have seniors enjoy every day. The building is maintained beautifully, and you will notice the attention to details. I especially love the green space out back for my puppy and the sidewalks that make walking so easy. The location within Overland Park couldn't be better--so easy to get everywhere in the metro. For meals I can enjoy the company of others, get it to go, or have them refrigerate it for later pickup. OR, I have a full size kitchen in my unit for entertaining or preparing full meals. Speaking of the kitchen, it is laid out so well--lots of storage space, corner cabinets, and a lazy susan, with quartz countertops and tile backsplash! I love my patio where I sip my morning coffee while enjoying the birds, landscaping, and flowerbeds. My washer and dryer, while a stacked unit, are full size and easy to use. Activities?--you should see the calendar! If they add any more they'll need a bigger sheet! I could go on and on, but really this has been the best decision, and I have no regrets. In fact, every day when I awake I feel so blessed to live here!

My parents have been considering relocation to KC to be close to us. We have been keeping in touch with Shelly and Deborah since 2020 when NP opened...they are compassionate, so very patient, and understand my parent's perspective. From what we learned, the value is exceptional. NP is so beautiful! The property is immaculate inside and out! Recently, we were invited to NP for their Oktoberfest celebration. We had so much fun...the residents and staff welcomed us with open arms. The residents raved about their experience living in NP, stating it choosing their community was the best decision they made. The food was delicious, NP thought of everything from German music to beer brats. For my parents, this place is it! So grateful!!

When looking for an independent living apartment for my mother Novel Place in Overland Park checked off all our boxes. Mom moved in a year ago from her private home and so far Novel Place has delivered its promises. The complex is new construction and has been maintained meticulously. The grounds, common areas, and apartments are designed for comfort and convenience at an affordable price. Mom enjoys the many amenities at Novel Place. Bimonthly house keeping, freshly prepared meals served in the dining room, convenient parking and optional car ports, the availability of a private transportation van. Novel Place has excelled in communicating with its residents. They have been very proactive with emergency information. During the pandemic it was reassuring to know that Novel Place adhered to strict Covid precautions throughout the building and helped to accommodate their residents during this time. Arrangements for Covid vaccines were provided on site. If you are looking for activities you will find many to choose from at Novel Place. A holiday or occasion will never go by without seeing the common area decorated. Monthly calendars are provided with a choice of social, arts, medical, and holiday events. Birthdays are never missed! Mom looks forward to playing cards and meeting new residents. She has also used the convenience of having appointments on site with a licensed optometrist and podiatrist. Mom has enjoyed the many new relationships she has developed over this past year. This is a community of friendly, active seniors who enjoy each other's company. I can't begin to explain how comforting it is to know that she is surrounded by such a warm community of residents who look out for each other. This kindness extends to the staff and employees of Novel Place. They respond quickly to requests and readily offer assistance when needed. The positive atmosphere at Novel Place is unsurpassed. How lucky we are to have found Novel Place!

Mom and I toured several communities but Novel Place stood out above all the competition. She compared the other communities to NP and it was obvious where she would live. The apartments are perfectly sized for one or two people and she opted for a bonus den in her unit. The staff has been a breeze to work with and answered all of our questions promptly. She raves about the meals and the kitchen staff as well.The security is top notch and that means a lot to me. She's made many new friends and thrives on the activities offered. I'm so relieved to know there are many in her community looking out for her and have no concerns as we're approaching the cold months. She will always have the option of participating or opting to read a book in one of the cozy common areas. And lastly, the size of the community is perfect. It's not a mega retirement community so she won't get lost in the shuffle. I will recommend Novel Place to everyone!

When searching the internet for how to select a senior residence, I read to "watch out for the ugh" feeling. There was none of that when we first visited and Novel place met many of the pluses: clean and well maintained, wide, well-lit halls, many areas for residents to gather and visit, and a very friendly staff. Novel Place Senior Living Novel Place Senior Living is a welcoming community with many amenities. The professional and caring staff are key to making us feel at home. The tour at Novel Place was the result of a spontaneous visit and we were welcomed to come in and look around. The residents were caring and spoke to their happiness with the community and level of support for each and everyone. Residents were having fun and it was evident in the smiles and willingness to visit about their experiences. After three months, we are still so pleased with the move. Novel Place has become home to us. The supportive environment, exercise and library amenities, and ideal location make it the perfect selection. We moved to Novel Place Senior Living in September of 2221. We like it so very much. Our first clue that NP was our kind of place was our initial meetings with their management team, Shelly and Deborah. These ladies took us on a couple of tours and explained how things work in this senior living space. We knew right away, this was our next home. We called our two children who live in the area and Shelly and Deborah took them on a tour as well. It was a unanimous decision and we have enjoyed our time here very much. The people are friendly and very open to including everyone. The activities are fun and the food is good. Everyone is helpful and kind and we highly recommend Novel Place Senior Living.

I moved to Novel Place in Overland Park from the Table Rock Lake area in southern Missouri October 2021. What a wonderful experience moving to Novel Place has been since my first day ! The facility is beautifully decorated, fabulous art pieces , such a warm and peaceful atmosphere. Neighbors are so very friendly and welcoming, I felt at home immediately. The meals are excellent as well as a great variety . Abundant daily activities to enjoy along with a transportation bus for outings and appointments. The administrators and all the staff at Novel Place are exceptional, always available to answer questions . I give Novel Place Overland Park a 10+ rating .. what a perfect decision for my new home.

I highly recommend Novel Place Senior Living for your senior parent(s) or yourself. Because of multiple health conditions and declining mobility, I felt I had to quickly move my mother from her apartment in Ohio to Kansas to be closer to me and my husband. I contacted A Place for Mom who reached out to multiple senior communities that could be a possibility for my mother. Deborah with Novel Place was the first to contact me and throughout the whole process of figuring out finances to my mother's health care needs, a Novel Place was there to promptly answer all and any questions I had about their facility and the care they offered to their residents. At one point, I thought an assisted living facility would be better for my mother and Deborah informed me that an independent living facility with home health care services onsite is usually less expensive because you can tailor the services to the person and pay for the actual care that's needed, along with changing it to less or more care when appropriate. After talking with several other communities, Novel Place was the least expensive and the one that would fit our budget, so it came down to the in-person tour to make sure it felt right. I toured Novel Place with my husband and we were both impressed with the cleanliness, different activities offered to residents each week, and the beautiful aesthetics of the building. Novel Place looks and feels modern and not like an "old people home." We quickly felt this would be a great place for my mother to live. Honestly, we felt it was a great place for US to live in our older age if we decided to no longer deal with the upkeep of a house! Two months in, my mother has commented multiple times on how nice everyone is from the staff to the residents she has met, and she likes that the food is "real" and home-cooked. My mom is getting the home health care services that she needs through Interim Healthcare that has an office onsite, and she is receiving physical and occupational therapy in her studio apartment. I trust that she is in good hands and rest easy knowing that we made a good choice moving her into Novel Place.

My husband and I found out about this beautiful senior living facility when we were assisting a family member with the search of a home. As it turned out the management was the same as what had been at a senior living community in another part of town where my mother-in-law had lived. Come to find out they were there through the construction process and had many wonderful ideas to bring forth that takes this senior living to the top of any we have looked at! It is beautiful and the staff is very experienced and knowledgeable. We are not quite ready to be rid of our home and yard; but when we are this is definitely a place we will want to be!!!!

This is a wonderful place to live! My wife and I love it. The people here are outstanding. Everybody is so nice and accommodating. Jason, Holly & Deborah have all been a big asset to us! It has felt like home from the first day we moved in. We highly recommend Novel Place to anyone looking for a senior retirement community. 6-30-2021 I would like to further add a review for the entire staff at Novel Place. I can't imagine a more dedicated, knowledgeable, caring group of people than the staff here. Shelley is outstanding as an administrator, so caring and listens to our complaints and and acts upon them if feasible. Deborah, our marketing director, is just so excellent at what she does, makes sure you know exactly all you need to know before moving in. She makes visitors feel so welcome that they can't resist coming back for a second look. Sharon is the first person visitors see and she has a smile that lights up the entire room. She welcomes you like she has known you a long time and really makes you feel at ease. She greets everyone in the commons area constantly. Jason, our maintenance man, is outstanding! He has a personality that is like a magnet. He is so caring, helpful and wants to make sure everything is the very best. He goes the extra mile always. Elisa, our housekeeper, is wonderful. She makes sure everything is to your satisfaction. She also is very caring. Holly, our business director is so friendly and always a smile on her face and takes the time to greet you no matter how busy she is. Dean, the van chauffer, is also very friendly and caring. This entire team is number 1 and the best asset that Novel Place has! I can't forget Culinary...this team led by Ny, provides delicious food and outstanding service to our community.I don't know how they do it with the limited staff they have. This team needs to be praised for their contribution to complete this team of professionals.

The team here is the #1 asset of Novel Place. I've lived in other senior living communities, but the management here is wonderful and makes the biggest difference. The #2 asset is the food. The residents are rapidly becoming a family because of the management, and inflow of new residents - it is turning into a family-type atmosphere.
