If you love your loved ones do not send them here. When you tour they make it sound amazing and that they really care all previous reviews couldnt have been more true even though they are apparently under new management. I dont even know where to start...They are understaffed, they let my father get bed sores (which he is paralyzed) so he needs assitance transfering and since they are under staffed he would lay in bed all day. Now i know my dads was not cooperating but he also was not diagnosed properly and when we told the staff he needed to see a neurologist due to his memory going to get a formal diagnosis they brushed it off. They made my mom sign a power of attorney but then a few days later had my father who didnt know who i was that day or how long he had been there or why he was there or even that he was paralyed sign legal documents "oh he can hold a pen so he can make decisions and sign for him self". This place is truly a joke and was no benifit to my father at all and i am so beyond happy to have gotten him out of that place. This place is a complete shit show. I could go on and on but thats all i will say for now.

Ok, having worked at HCR Leawood for almost 2 years... let me state that most of the positive reviews I recognize as current employees. These ( I feel) are totally bogus. Sad that they feel they have to provide a positive review (perhaps) as a coercive or desperate way to maintain employment.

Management is a disaster at this establishment and there is constant turnover at all levels. I would highly recommend you look elsewhere for your loved ones care. As the spouse of a former employee who poured countless hours in their therapy department, then went on to a front office job after 5 years of patient care, only to get let go by upper management very shortly after pouring countless more hours into that new job....I can say without question they are extremely mismanaged and your loved one will feel that chaos everyday if they consider staying here.

I am absolutely convinced this is one of the best facilities, if not the best, in Kansas City. HCR has a wonderful appearance, great location and top notch staff. They have an outstanding activity leader with trips safely handled by their transportation leader. Their therapy team is the best. Only great things to say about the Healthcare Resort of Leawood.

My dad was transferred to a different facility immediately after being discharged from KU Med. We knew within just a few hours of him being there that we could not let him stay there. So we started researching other skilled nursing facilities and we found Healthcare Resort of Leawood. We called late on a Wed. evening, leaving a message that we would like to get our dad transferred to their facility. These people went above & beyond helping us by making endless phone calls to the insurance company & to the facility my dad was currently at. They were able to get my dad transferred to HCL by mid-afternoon on Fri. THANK YOU- Sheila, Tammy & Justin! During my dads 2 week stay...he received great care. The OCT & PTs were amazing & taught my dad some great techniques for him to be able to use once he was home to help him feel more independent & not dependent...which he has been using successfully. The food was good quality. If there was anything we had questions or concerns about the staff answered our questions & calmed our worries. Thanks to you all...keep up the great work!

Posting on behalf of my father who had a poor experience close to his home in western Kansas. He moved to Kansas City temporarily and received out patient physical therapy 3 times a week for over 2 months. Dad was in a deconditioned state, following a long hospitalization. Our expectations were met and exceeded; including fitting for leg, shoe brace, strengthening, balance retraining, car transfers, and activity tolerance building. Thank you to all the therapists who aided in making it possible for my father to improve and return to his apartment independently.

I have been working at HCR Leawood for a summer job, expecting to find a quiet way to pass the summer and save up for college. In the short time Ive worked here, the staff and administration have been tremendously kind, and I intend to return to visit and work in summers to come.They build relationships with the residents and care about their work. As a relatively new facility, theyre still working some of the kinks out (like building up the nursing staff), but they consistently work together to make the facility as welcoming and efficient as possible.

Ive had two friends who chose The Healthcare Resort of Leawood for rehab after a hip and knee replacement. Both had exceptional nursing and rehab care and returned home more active than they had previously been!

Due to having a bad experience following back surgery in 2012, I elected to interview and survey several Rehab Facilities prior to having a similar procedure done in February of 2017. I selected The Healthcare Resort of Leawood as being by first choice for In- Patient Rehab Services. I had a fabulous experience during my stay before being released to return to my home. The facility, staff and support personnel were cream of the crop, top notch and a grade above all of the rest. I was so impressed that I returned for Out- Patient Physical Therapy sessions to establish normalcy. Their peoples training, knowledge and talents indicate they have walked the Walk and are qualified to Talk the Talk!

I just met the staff for The Healthcare Resort of Leawood and I must say how absolutely amazing, caring, knowledgable and accommodating they are. They really go out of their way to make you feel like you are their number one priority. Their administrator was so patient in answering any questions and concerns I presented. And can we talk about the menu?! Wow! Any person staying here will feel like a guest on a wonderful retreat. Im looking forward to the opening this fall and all the possibilities it provides for members of this growing community.
