This has been a God send for us. My mother was recently widowed and has several of her own ailments that made living alone too difficult, she needed social interaction. Brookdale Hays has a wonderful staff from top to bottom, they keep them safe, clean, fed and active. They go out of their way to provide specific individualized attention to every resident. It feels like a big family every time we are there. Involving the family is important to them. They do excellent in all types of needs from just living assistance to the more detailed difficult cases. My mom is hard to please and she couldn't be happier than at Brookdale. Thanks for caring so much!!!

They take a lot of people that are very dependent on staff to help them do everything. It takes away from the residents that need just a little bit of help each day. They do not have enough staff to be doing one on one care for some of the residents.

Recently moved my grandmother into this facility. We couldn't be happier with Brookdale and the staff. We were able to make our grandmother's room feel like home. They let us decorate however we wanted. Meals are very nice and grandma is always commenting on how good the food is. Has an overall welcoming feeling. Would recommend 10/10.

Brookdale was absolutely amazing! The process of getting Grandpa in to their place was very smooth. Grandpa enjoyed his time while he was there. The staff and residents were always so friendly! They did a great job of having activities not only for the residents but for their families as well. Thank you for taking care of my Grandpa!

Mom was a resident at Brookdale in Hays for several years. When she first moved in she needed a lot of help with her daily activities. The staff were always pleasant and displayed the patience needed to make mom feel comfortable. Mom made some very good friends with several of the other residents. The meals were good and mom looked forward to meeting her friends for meals. Mom became attached to several of the staff that worked with her. Even though the staff’s jobs could be stressful at times they always entered her room with a smile and would make the time to visit with her. I would recommend Brookdale to anyone whose loved one is needing assisted living.

My mom was a resident for a little over a year and a half. The staff is very caring and always called her by name and always willing to give her hugs. Even when it became aware to us that she would have to have more care they were so good to work with us until we were able to get her moved. Just love Ashley, Sharon, Melissa, Katie and everyone else that gave her such good care. Definitely a wonderful place if your loved one needs a little extra help.

Absolutely love this staff and facility! Moved my parent in recently and all have been welcoming and so helpful with the transition. Lisa, Brandon, Ashley, Sharon, Alisa and all the staff are attentive to resident needs and reply to me in a prompt manner...refreshing! Food is great and great activities are offered. My parent has spent more time outside of her apartment in the last two weeks than she has in the whole of 2022. A godsend!

We recently moved our mother to Brookdale Senior Living in Hays KS. The admissions process was very smooth with the assistance of Brandon and Ashley and all of the staff at the facility. Everyone was genuinely interested in making sure Mom's needs were being met. Even though it has been just three weeks since her move to Brookdale, Mom has made friends and has remarked on the quality of the care and food she has received.

This was a great transition for my mom from living at home to moving to Brookdale of Hays. Everyone is very kind and caring. She stated that it felt like home right away. It is a huge relief to know I don’t have to worry about her safety. I recommend to anyone needing this type of care to definitely consider Brookdale of Hays.

They do well at first but was very disappointed after the first couple months. Not very kind to some residents. Left a resident to eat by herself when she needed food cut up and help. Mom was left unattended in the shower and fell. Drugged her with more prescriptions than I could count. Funny we have her in another facility and they took her off most of her medications. Would never put another one of my family members there.

My family is very pleased with the dining, service, and care being provided for my Grandma at Brookdale! She is very comfortable in her room with furniture and pictures from her previous home. Grandma is always clean and properly taken care of and has even gained weight since she has lived there. The friendly staff communicates almost daily with my Uncle to provide him with any updates necessary. As Grandma's needs change, they are there to help. Thank you Brookdale for taking such good care of my Grandma!

It was stressful for my Father to go into Assisted Living, but Brookdale proved to be so much more than expected. My Father loves the food! The meals are prepared fresh and home made! He has a nice room that Brookdale let us decorate with items from Dad's home. They prepare and dispense his medicine, do his laundry and keep his room clean. The kind friendly staff interact with him often. There is a certified nurse on staff... and he has met a few new friends. My Father appreciates that Brookdale provides religious activities ... and fun little events. He has settled in and is doing well. Thank you Brookdale !

"It's a wonderful place to live", That's how my mom feels about Brookdale. She often brags about how great the staff is, and I couldn't agree more. The management team (Lisa, Lydnsey, and Tony) can be reached easily when needed. All the staff work hard to make the residents feel at home, you can feel that when you walk in the front door. They really do care about the residents, and I have seen it over and over, and not just with my mom. I am so happy we found Brookdale! I would recommend it to anyone. It's a place where there is the help when you need it, privacy if you want it, and a wonderful community just outside your apartment door.

My mother lived at Brookdale Hays for over two years--up until the time she passed away on March 24, 2017. Mom functioned pretty well when she first moved in, but towards the end needed almost total care. Brookdale met her needs throughout. I can say without reservation that the staff was outstanding in how caring, professional, and loving they were toward Mom, and even myself. Never did I hear anyone say anything unkind to her, or express any degree of impatience. Also, the staff was extremely communicative with me. This was particularly important since I was responsible for Mom's medical wellbeing, and live on the east coast. They promptly notified me of medical issues, and likewise were always open to hearing my questions and addressing my concerns. I can think of many examples when the nursing staff in particular would discuss ways of making my mother more comfortable or improving her quality of life. The only downside I can think of is that I thought the food quality could have been better. However, I have no regrets about placing my mother there, and would confidently do the same for another loved one.
