My grandparents spent a good number of years when this was Greentree but since then haven't been back as much. Have noticed changes inside to keep it clean and modern, management seems to be improving and definitely better than when it was Greentree. Performed here for Veteran's Day and all the residents looked happy and staff was very relaxed and accommodating. Hope to be back here on the piano soon!

My mom has been here for maybe 3-4 weeks and theyve been so friendly and accommodating. The minute I stepped in to tour with my mom, they were just wonderful and really wanted to help. Anytime my mom has a question, they really take care of her and answer any questions that she has. They make sure she comes to lunch and dinner and theyll even bring her breakfast. They do their jobs like theyre happy to do them, not like they have to do them. They keep her secure and help to remind her to lock her door and keep herself safe, and I like that a lot. There are so many wonderful amenities that they offer and because they were having construction going on during the move in, they gave me a great deal and even waived the community fee! They provide a lot of different activities like bingo, a zoo will come by for them, and during October they had a lot of Halloween related activities including an Oktoberfest. The facility is kept very clean and theres new everything almost carpet, wallpaper, paint, decorations, and everything is beautiful. My mom thinks she lives in a castle! I would recommend it here.

Caring
One thing that I liked about Elmcroft of West Lafayette was that it was built up instead of out, so there wasnt as far to walk, and there was three stories to it. But the thing that we didnt like was that the only available apartments that had more than 1-bedroom -- or the larger apartments -- were all on the third floor, and my dad has a fear of heights. And so, the only way down, if there is a fire, is through the elevators. If the place has a fire, they need to wait upstairs for someone to come and get you and bring you down. Most people in there have to use a walker or dont do stairs really well, so there are elevators, and if you dont use stairs then you are kind of out of luck if there is bad weather or something where they have to bring you downstairs. You have to wait for somebody to come and get you. The other thing is that they are not fully licensed yet, so they dont have nursing staff on duty should someone need it. And if the nurse is there, then she really cannot help you as all she can do is to call an ambulance from what I was told. Thats what I didnt like about it. By the way, it was a really nice place. Their location was good for us. It was just several blocks off where there are lots of theaters and lots of shopping. If it had all been on one floor and theyve been insured, then we might have gone with them just because there are a lot more people that mom and dad knew in that area. They had a hairdresser onsite that I went to beauty school with, so I knew her. We also knew people who live there. But the drawback was the fact that it was 3-stories high instead of 1-floor. If we hadnt found the other place, we probably would have chosen Elmcroft.
