Life Care Center of Valparaiso has been excellent. Dr. Nallari and Dr. Waldo make rounds and see each and every patient along with their nurses Jamie and Sherry. Sherry is an infectious disease nurse and a Godsend. Knows the patients history and such a patient advocate. Jamie is excellent. Speech therapist Natalie worked tirelessly with mom who could not swallow after a prolonged hospital stay and is now eating a normal diet on her own. Ashley is very helpful. Crystal the Director and of Nursing is hands on her office is open and she is present. Sandy is also excellent and always available for any questions and dedicated. Miss Tasha and Tanya are the best social workers I have met and have open office doors helping with discharge and any other issues. They are present for patient and their family. Need tests a van will pull up and do them right outside of the facility ( swallow test) for mom. Labs urinalysis all at the facility. Chanel transporter/CNA if your family member needs to get to any appointments is so kind and dependable. She brings joy. Nurse John is a standout and if he says he will do something it happens. He is attentive and respectful to every patient. Diligent beyond words. Kind and joyous. Nurses are super Lisa is exceptional, Lori T is very attentive, Lacey on top of everything, Kathy is fabulous, Angie is also excellent. Then the CNAs that are stellar. Kind respectful and hardworking™. Standouts are Letitia( Leti),Tam, Kenya, Aniyah,Myra and Hank they all kept my mom spotless and were prompt and efficient. Also the hair stylist that has been here 27 years is super and treated my mom with the utmost respect. I may have forgotten some names. Housekeeping is wonderful. If you are looking for a Starbucks in a facility or new interior this is not the place but I was able to leave here and know my mom’s needs were exceeded. It is not about what a facility looks like but what the care is. I have zero complaints with my mom in the rehab portion. However if my mom needed permanent placement I would certainly place her here. I am very picky and was hesitant to even consider a facility for rehab but I am glad I placed my mom in rehab here as she has flourished beyond my expectations. Also a live person always answers the phone and if the nurse needs to get a hold of you they will call. Thanks to mom’s entire team. Noted the turnover rate is low and many employees have been here a long time.

My husband was admitted after a 15 day hospital stay, on March 22, 2026. He stayed at LCC for 6 weeks. He was admitted because he was on iv antibotics due to being septic. He was not able to sit upright, stand or walk. He revieved both OT and PT 6 days a week and within a week, he was in a wheelchair, standing and rolling from side to side. He walked out of the facility today and got in our truck by himself. The care he recieved was remarkable. The facility is clean and comfortable. He had many who helped him, and treated him well, but there are a few who really stick out. Angie was one of his nurses, and how she cared for him and advocated for him, it was like he was related to her, she cared so much. Jake is a CNA and his wife Ashley is a CNA/QMA, both are meant for these jobs,they provide compassionate care and were so available and accommodating, took into account John pain level, and always did what was best for him. The Social workers, Tasha and Tonya are the best, and did everything they could to make things easier, and less stressful for us. The employee who sticks out the most is a CNA named Dwayne. This man is a true gem. He works his tail off, never stops, never makes you feel bad for asking for anything. He is professional and mixes this with caring. I wish this man was my neighbor because im sure he is like this with everyone he comes across. Housekeeping, dietary, admissions and activities, also has great employees and i wish I remembered more names. If for any reason anyone in our family needed a long or short term facility, this would be the place. Thank you Life Care Center, John is now home with the ones who love him most, because of your capable care

From the moment he arrived, we felt reassured by the compassion, professionalism and attentiveness of the staff. I especially want to recognize Nurse John, who truly went above and beyond. He treated every patient with dignity, kindness and humor that brought comfort during a difficult time. It was clear he genuinely cared. John also supported the family, taking the time to communicate, answer questions and make sure we felt informed and at ease. That level of care meant more to us than words can express! My dad was at Life Care Center of Valparaiso from January to March in the rehabilitation wing. We were extremely happy with everything and everyone at this facility. The love and care that the staff has for the residents is abundantly obvious: staff members such as Amber, John, Kimberly, Letty, Jamie, and Crystal, and all those he interacted with and who cared for his health and safety. He definitely felt and appreciated that. I wish I could give Life Care Center 10 stars. I give them my highest recommendation as a very satisfied family member.

During a visit to a relative in rehab, we were struck by the genuine care and authenticity of the staff. A restless patient couldn’t be calmed despite several attempts”then one staff member came in, sat with her, and instantly made her smile! He even worked on his computer right there beside her to keep her calm. Every staff member and patient passing by greeted him warmly (even fist-bumping), like he was a beloved figure in the community. His rapport with people is remarkable, and his sincerity shines through. Before writing this, I had read many reviews mentioning John”and our experience completely confirms them. The facility itself is a bit dated but surprisingly clean”they even wipe down the walls! Unlike most nursing homes that have that typical evening smell, this place stays fresh. My grandpa mentioned that the aides and therapists are excellent, too. The food is average and sometimes served cold, but the quality of care more than makes up for it. The facility can get busy, which is a testament to its reputation”good care naturally draws people in. It’s reassuring to see that places with genuinely dedicated staff still exist!

I was Life Care Center in October 2025 in the Rehab Unit getting therapy for back surgery. I cannot thank all the therapists (PT and OT) enough for the progress they gave me. Due to insurance reasons I could not continue my therapy there. I wish I could because they are incredible. As I continue my therapy journey with others, I will always be thankful for the Occupational and Physical Therapists at Life Care Center. All the staff throughout the facility were great folks. Keep up the good work, I will never forget all of you (don't want to single anyone out but the ones that were the greatest know who they are.)

I had Rehab there for over 2 weeks after my Left Hip Replacement Surgery on 9-15-25& I arrived there on 9-18-25 around 4:30 PM& John is a Great Nurse along with Kathy& Melissa & Imogene & Amber the Aide is Stellar as Her& John should get Employee of the Year& Olivia is Great also& The Physical Therapy Katie Department Katie & Amy gave me the Physical Therapy that I needed to get Home Safety & I Thank You both for that as now on Friday I start Outpatient Physical Therapy so I can leave the Walker & head to Cane Next along with Home Exercises & then to Walking without assistance is the Finale as I am so Glad that I came to Life Care for the Rehab that I needed before returning Home on 10-7-25& The Great Care that they gave me& again Thank You so Much P. S. It was Great having a TV that I could Actually use Woo-Hoo &The Lunch& Dinner was Good but the Hamburgers was AWFUL along with the Breakfast... on a Final Note Social Worker Latasha is Stellar as she Listens to Your Concerns & works with You in regards to Going Home& etc& a Great Gal to have a Conversation with.

I'd give Lifecare Center 4 1/2 stars if I could - I doubt there's a 5 star facility anywhere, but this place is pretty darn good. I was just released after a 2 week stay due to to a broken hip. The facility is clean and well kept, but it's the staff that really shines, esp John the nurse, who laid out everything for me and took great care. Lori & Lacey were also good. And Aides Amber and Jenny, who always had positive attitudes and were quick to respond if I needed them. The OT/PT staff was really good too - a shout out to Whitney, Linda & Amy...also Tonya working behind the scenes to get me set up w home healthcare etc. All these folks really seemed to care, and made my stay easier. I stayed in the 300 wing, and was treated well by all the staff - I'm sorry, but I can't remember all their names - they were all good to me. Lifecare Center worked out well for me. I had a roommate for a week, and his daughter, who's a nurse, said this was the third rehab facility they've been in, and it was the best. If you need to rehab a broken body part, I would definitely consider Lifecare Center...they did well by me.

I went to Life Care Center for rehab therapy after I had hip replacement surgery. I must say my stay was a very good experience. The therapists were very helpful and friendly and taught me a lot. When I went home I felt much stronger. I must say all of the nurses and aides were great. Especially nurse John who went above and beyond. The food might have been a little better, but the care was excellent. I would recommend Life Care to anyone who needs rehab or long term care.

I can’t say enough good things about Life Care. My brother was there for 22 days. He felt at home there.Everyone was so kind and attentive to my brothers and his needs. I always enjoyed going there to visit him and was always amazed on how friendly and clean the facility was. The food was great and a nice variety to choose from. With the help of the great nurses there and the incredible rehab staff, my brother was leaps and bounds better. He was always smiling and very happy with there care for him. When I went to visit the facility to see if it was the right place for him I knew immediately it was. My cousin was transferred here after a stroke. While doing rehab, his spouse who is in a different facility passed. He was the sole caregiver of his spouse prior to his debilitating disease, and became helpless during this very challenging time. But the whole staff of Life Care all stepped up, providing him comfort and support. Everyone from the aides all the way to the management people went above their duties and made him feel part of the family. Besides the friendly accommodating staff, good food, clean facility, up to date protocols, and organized activities - one person stands out. My cousin would talk about him, but until you actually meet him is when you'll understand how special this person is. Very intelligent, yet extremely compassionate this rehab nurse supervisor is. We were confident my cousin received the best care he could get. Hopefully he wont have to go back for additional therapy, but if he would we know he is well taken care of. This nursing home is highly recommended.

Because of those reviews, we toured the facility. I’m so happy we picked it to care for my dad during his recovery. Previously went with my friend to visit her grandma. Quite a busy place but clean and doesnt smell like pee. Staff was friendly and accomodating, specially the male nurse supervisor in the rehab section. Very courteous and knowledgeable, taking time to explain e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. You dont see that often. I can compare cause my own aunt's nursing home is nowhere near staffed by professionals like this, and will talk to her about transferring there. Wish they had a cafeteria though. Recommended indeed!
