I moved my dad in at the end of last year. One of the reasons we chose Grand Emerald is because of the warm and friendly atmosphere we noticed while visiting. Everyone was cheerful, friendly, and to see the way they interacted with the resident there was beautiful. That all changed when Leslie, the new Director took over. That woman is scandalous, and I wouldn't let my husband nor my sons go anywhere near her. She single handedly destroyed the atmosphere of that place with her snotty, dismissive, superior attitude. Imagine a middle school bully is now in charge of the people who care for your dad. Imagine a director who never had time to talk to you or your dad who was in her care. It was awful. the staff were weary and all joy had left that place. I had already started looking at other communities when I found out that she had been fired. It has been less than three weeks since she left; I just came from visiting my dad and the whole vibe of that community is back to being positive, friendly, happy, and caring! There are some really great people there - What a difference leadership can make. Dad is staying put for now and I am happy to see the staff back to themselves once again.

Ive been living at Grand Emerald for 4 years and I love it here especially since we are one of the only Assisted Living Facilities in South Bend that doesn't have any bed bugs. I would honestly recommend this place to anyone.

First of all, Ashley (Below) worked for Grand Emerald Place when I first started working here. I thought so highly of her until I saw this. Shame on her for lying. Grand Emerald is a lovely place that I would feel comfortable putting my own mother into. It is clean, smells nice, has wonderful residents, delicious food, fun activities, and a very caring and friendly staff.

I can’t say enough good things about Grand Emerald Place! The staff are incredibly caring and attentive; they truly treat residents like family. The environment is warm, clean, and welcoming, with plenty of activities that keep everyone engaged and active. Residents really thrive here, and it gives family members peace of mind knowing they’re in such good hands. Highly recommend this community to anyone looking for quality care, friendly faces, and compassion.

I would never in my life have my loved one live at this place. Bed bugs are consistent and smells. The dining room is always dirty, the floors are filthy and so are the resident rooms. There were cigarette butts everywhere out front, and the place looked very run down. The pictures on the website don't even come close to what it actually looks likes. Do not send your loved ones here.

Grand Emerald is a good place. My parents have had mostly good experiences, but any negatives have been resolved and my dad likes it there. Mom's passed so Dad's by himself, but the staff is super kind, and try to keep him involved and active. The food is not the greatest, but the serving staff is willing to make sure you have enough. One thing that is very good is their pancakes, which I think they serve once a week or every other week. For a medicaid facility, I would rate it above average, and I'm comfortable having my dad live there.

This place is terrible and has bed bugs. The pictures are very deceiving, smells, and extremely dirty. DON'T SEND YOUR LOVED ONES THERE!

Only been working here for a couple of weeks, Staff is amazing, very friendly all around, everyone is extremely happy here. This would be the first place I would move one of my loved ones into. Its so nice to see great friendships among the residents that live here!

I Have been apart of the OPS Family for 6 months now and I must say I have never in my 18 years in healthcare felt more at home then i do with Ops living. The ownership and Management are both welcoming and easy to get along with. Very responsive to the needs of residents and staff alike. I would suggests OPS living facilities over any facility in the state of Indiana.

Do not come here. I have been told the reason people are leaving GE is because it has changed for the worse since the new owners took over. I do not get my pain meds like I should even though my doctor said I could take them.
