Years ago, when I was just 15 years old I got my first job in the kitchen at Peabody. This was back in the “old Peabody”. I worked there for the next 4 years until I graduated high school. The very next year I decided I was going to become a CNA and where better to do it than in my back yard. I got my license through the classes they offered and began as a CNA in 2005. I immediately loved what I was doing! It was my passion to help people and i knew there was something special about Peabody. At the beginning of this year I was able to advance from working the floor full-time as a CNA to now being the nursing staff coordinator. I am so grateful for the opportunities Peabody has allowed me. From working in the kitchen to now being responsible for staffing and scheduling all 100+ nursing employees. Thank goodness for the help and support from the nurse managers. I am more than just an employee of Peabody. I also have had family members come to Peabody for therapy and long term care. I had an uncle have a very hard time with cancer and ended up needing to be moved to one of our secure units for his own safety. As he declined, and at such a younger age than most other residents at Peabody, the staff helped maintain his dignity until the very end with such great compassion! My family, especially his children, will be forever grateful for that. So when I had another uncle needing to find rehab after a recent illness, it was a no brainer to bring him to Peabody as well. He ended up staying in long term care to get the best quality of life for him and his wife. They were not disappointed at any time. Let’s talk about 2020 and Covid in the nursing environment. As difficult as it was/is to wear the masks and gowns and do temperature checks and oxygen checks daily. And wash and sanitize, until our hands were so chapped and raw, we did what we had to do. Trying to keep our residents lives as happy and “normal” as possible with out being able to have the physical contact that we all need from our friends and family. Quite possibly one of the hardest times of our lives we stuck it out like a family does. And with tremendous support from our management team and staff. I am blown away when I think about all the precautions our facility has taken especially this past year trying to keep its residents and staff safe and well. Peabody IS the grass that is greener, so to say. 🙂

I love hearing from families about our staff! A family member commented to me today that, Even after saying thanks often, it doesnt seem to convey my gratefulness to the many who care for my mom. Im happy to be a part of this caring team!

Once you enter the Peabody facility, you will clearly see that Peabody takes pride in providing exceptional care to their residents and the facility. WOW, its STUNNING. My Grandmother in-law is a resident there and when I walked in to her room for the first time i was blown away! I said well, I could totally live here. This is awesome! Grandma made a ton of NEW friends since being there, too! She went from living all alone to playing cards daily and partaking in the resident activities! It is so great to see how social she has become! We are not allowed to come visit during her card playing hours. LOL Also, if you have a family member that is new there or youre just trying to keep up with what Peabody has goin on, I would highly recommend following their Facebook page! They keep you up to date on all of the upcoming activities they have planned, pictures from said activities, job postings and even the food they eat (Chef Jan is awesome)! Honestly, I can go on and on about how great this place is, but ill wrap it up. If youre looking for a five star retirement village, go in and take a tour and experience it for yourself. You will not be disappointed!

The first time I saw Peabody was many yrs ago when I worked for a competitor and came to Peabody to do an assessment for a potential transfer to my then employer. At that time I was astonished by the sheer beauty of the University like campus. The grounds are absolutely beautiful with its beautiful flower gardens, which including the beautiful tulips and well kept walk ways. At that time I had no idea that I would leave my employer of 15 yrs to come to be a part of this unique community. As an employee of Peabody I found that there is great opportunity for advancement if youre willing to work hard and be committed to providing excellent care and compassion to our extended family our residents. Im not saying we dont have turnover, because everyone knows all communities do, but I can say that we have many employees that have been with Peabody 5+ yrs and we had 1 employee celebrate her 40th anniversary and another celebrate her 30th anniversary with Peabody and may others that have celebrated 10 - 20+ yrs with Peabody. I have to say though I left too for a short period of time, but returned even though were I went was a great community. You know the old saying about the grass being greener. What we see is many of the employees that leave return to Peabody, because Peabody just has it. Im proud to say I will be celebrating my 11th yr. at Peabody next month. Not only are our residents our extended family, but I also had my father in the Smock Memory Care neighborhood and my mother was in the skilled short term rehab. neighborhood. The care that they both received was exceptional. Staff show great compassion to not only the residents, but also the families. This really showed through when my father passed away several years ago. My mother was able to return home after her skilled stay, but unfortunately had another health issue, but the family was happy when she chose to move into Peabodys Assisted Living for an added peace of mind for not just for her who continues to be independent and drives, but for the family. We know she enjoys being active and being social with all her friends at Peabody. She also enjoys playing cards, going to exercise classes and a little shocking to the family playing bingo. If your looking for a Retirement Community that not only looks good on the inside and out, but also takes pride in the outstanding care and compassion that our staff provides come take a tour of our beautiful campus. Come take a tour of our campus you dont know what your missing until youve met us.

My mom has been at Peabody in assisted living for three years. My mom is very happy being a part of this community. I feel the staff does a wonderful job caring for her. This has been a very unexpected, stressful and busy year for the staff. During this time, the staff has risen to the occasion and worked to make sure all the residents are well cared for. Peabody has been proactive as well as reactive in this difficult pandemic time. We truly appreciate all your efforts. I receive the automated phone message as well as the daily emails and always look forward to hearing the next steps in the forward progression to tackling this virus. During the summer, I have been able to visit my mom outside for weekly visits. During that time, we walk around the grounds and look at all the flowers. The grounds are very well maintained and my mom really enjoys looking at all the landscaping. I would recommend Peabody to anybody and Im sure my mom would also!

I really enjoy my weekly visits with my mom. Each week we walk around the grounds and look at all the flowers. The landscaping is very well done and makes our walks very enjoyable. My family is very pleased with how well Peabody has risen to the occasion and worked to make sure all the residents are safe and well cared for. The staff has worked really hard and our family is grateful for everyone there.

Peabody Retirement Home is a great place if you have a loved one. The help is very compassionate in everything they do. Right now during this terrible time with the covid, you can still visit with your loved ones. You have to wear mask and distance which is very understanding. Some retirement homes will not let you do that. So at least I can see my loved one every week.

Being both an employee and a family member, I get to see both sides of Peabody. I work with an amazing group of people who are dedicated to the care and everyday lives of our residents. The residents become an intricate part of our day and nothing is more rewarding then the smiles on their faces when they interact with you because they know you care. I have also watched as the staff has cared for my family member. Having recently gone through a difficult situation, I was again reminded of the love and compassion they show daily in the care that they provide. Ive witnessed care provided at other facilities and I am thankful everyday both myself and my family member are here at Peabody.

Peabody Retirement Community is an excellent place to live or work. Having been employed there for Over seven years, I can say that it truly feels like family. We are lucky to have a beautiful community and compassionate staff who put our residents and their needs first. My husbands Grandmother was on TCU for a few weeks and the staff went above and beyond to make her comfortable and rebuild her strength to be able to go home. I would not hesitate to have a family member live at Peabody again. If you are considering Peabody as a place to live or work, I say please visit! You will never want to leave! Like

As I was visiting with some residents yesterday they shared with me that the aides show them so much love! One resident said that she knew love but never knew how much love she could have for someone who is not her family another resident stated that they love the way that all staff knows their names and always takes the time to stop and talk to me! And this is why we do what we do! Great job team Peabody!

During my employment with Peabody I have had the chance to meet with many residents and family members and to work with a variety of staff who care for residents at all levels of care here in the community and I can honestly say this is the friendliest place that I have had the opportunity to work. Peabody is not just a place to work or live....it is a Family!!

As an employee, I have gathered, in a relatively short time, working at Peabody is more than keeping the community going and providing care to the residents. I have witnessed members of the Peabody team take time out of their day, which is not always available, to listen to a resident and provide every effort to help them. Not only do the residents receive first rate care from the nursing staff, but all other employees, from those changing out a light bulb to sending out billing statements, truly care for our residents. It takes a special team to realize and take seriously the responsibility which comes with being a Peabody employee; however, by the joy I see on both the employee and residents face when an employee spends time in the hall just talking, I realize this is more than a job. Im confident the resident has the same joy, realizing Peabody is more than just a place to call home.

Memory ward was excellant for my dad. He had to leave another facility because he was mobile enough to escape. Peabodys staff was always kind and so helpful with him. My mom has been living in assistant leaving where she has her independance. if she has a problem some one is always there to help. She also enjoys playing cards.

my mother lives there now and my grandparents lived there many years ago. The staff are highly skilled and incredibly compassionate. The ones who are not, are not tolerated and dont last. Its my guess the one who posted such a terrible review is one such former employee. Take it from one whos family has been touched by this amazing place, it is one of the finest youll find anywhere!
