I have to give Springmill a high score to feel fair. I am always impressed with the staff. They are very caring and strive to keep their residents wishes addressed. I always feel like I am nicely greeted. My Sister has been a resident for quite a long time. I feel like that is because she has had very good care. They have recently redecorated and it is pleasant and clean looking. My Sister is happy and that is important to me and her family. I must also complete ment and Thank the kitchen staff. Director of Nursing, Michelle Ashford, is a Godsend and a guardian angel. She pays personal attention to her patients and provides excellent leadership to her staff who all say positive things about Michelle, as they trust and rely on her. My wife was admitted to the hospital for a heart procedure and Michelle has checked on her daily, even after hours and weekends. Any concerns or issues, Michelle has handled with discipline, grace, and ease. My family feels safe and cared for with Michelle in the leadership position at Spring Mill. We hope she never leaves, and we are deeply grateful to her. She has had a more profound impact than any other professional in leadership at Spring Mill. The hardest decision in life is placing a loved one in a nursing home. You hear so many stories about mistreatment that it naturally makes you second guess your choice. After visiting our third option for a temporary placement, we were finally put at ease. The management team made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. They gave us a thorough tour, explained the level of care our loved one would receive, and reassured us that the doors are always open and that we are welcome at any time. My cousin is here getting rehab for breaking her neck. She has been treated nicely and healing good. Ive been to see her a couple times and everyone is very nice and the place is very clean.

It isn't personalized care that feels like home. Deeply disappointed. This was supposed to be a 2-week rest for my father who has been caring for my mom since she had a stroke 3 years ago. First day, her call light didn't work. She couldn't ask for help if she needed it. Second day she was left in her bed all morning. This meant she had wet herself and required a complete change. She can walk with a walker to the bathroom if someone assists her. Call light was on but was not answered until 10:00 am when I arrived and complained. You cannot expect 2 people to care for an entire floor. She was in bed once again on the 3rd day. Dad came to pick her up for a day trip they had been planning, she was still in bed at 11:00 am. This is outrageous. After 1 week and 2 days we are taking her home.

The health care providers gave me a sense of security knowing my aunt is being taken care of by highly trained and skilled nursing staff members. I wish more facilities were like this one!

After my mother underwent surgery on her dominant shoulder, we experienced a nightmare at another facility in Merrillville, IN (known as a medical resort) where my sister shockingly found her unresponsive due to inadequate care. Thankfully, we were able to move her to Spring Mill Health Campus, and the difference was night and day. The team at Spring Mill not only nursed my mother back to stable health but also helped her regain her strength, walk again, and become independent with their support and encouragement. Their dedication and compassion truly made all the difference. The facility itself is exceptional”clean, well-maintained, and free from unpleasant odors. More importantly, the staff is amazing, providing attentive and professional care. The leadership team is actively involved and has gone above and beyond to communicate with our family and ensure my mother continues to receive quality healthcare as she transitions to another facility. I cannot thank Spring Mill Health Campus enough for the care, dignity, and respect they have shown my mother. Very disappointed today...my dad requires an inflatable mattress bed due to wound care. The mattress alarm was beeping for Approx. 1.5 hrs before I had to call a staff member( nurse/aid caregiver) to give attention...when asked to change the mattress because my dads mattress was damn near deflated 80% and he was playing in the bed frames....The nurses hold me that there was not maintenance person available and the mattresses were locked up...they were able to temporarily stop the deflation, yet they fact that if they were not able to stop the deflation, the facility was ill- prepared to change his bed...i really find this to be very disturbing because of i wasn't on site to advocate for my dad, I would have never known about the situation with this bed....

I had the pleasure of visiting my great uncle at the Spring Mill facility in Merrillville. I was skeptical at first but I instantly walked into a friendly staff. I was greeted almost immediately, offered refreshments, and given activities to do with my uncle. The best part was the upkeep of the building and his room. One of the aides even gave me tips on how to navigate my uncle’s behavior during the visit (He isn’t always so pleasant). Anyhow I’m glad I got to stop in
