Just took a tour. Everyone was nice. The Tennants were happy. Met the memory care director. She was nice. I have many tours scheduled the next few days. I will compare them and let my mom decide where to put dad. The WOS will be in consideration.

The Wellington is a quaint, clean assisted living facility on the Southside. India, the Admissions Department, is great and easy to work with. I’ve met the Director of Nursing, Sabrina, too, and she has a great for seniors. Definitely recommend, especially for those with dementia.

I have been very pleased from the start including the initial phone call, the tour & move-in day. The staff really get to know your loved one’s needs and it’s been comforting to know that they are taken care of in a dignified manner. Every staff member I have had contact with is extremely kind. I am very appreciative and relieved during this difficult phase.

Exceptionally friendly staff building look fabulous inside and out. Residents were actively engaged happy and seemed to be enjoying their day. Let me say that the people who work here are special, from the person at the welcome desk, the financial director (Who is a FABULOUS go-to person for any questions), to a variety of aides, therapists, and activities personnel . However, we were surprised and disappointed to be told that Kim, the very experienced and knowledgeable memory care activity director, was no longer working here. She had a vibrant program, and strived to keep everyone involved ,and the families informed. Hopefully, this can be corrected or corporate will quickly fill this position with someone equally qualified. We really just don't understand. She will be missed.

Very good visit. Only two slight negatives. Planned activity on their schedule did not happen and was not communicated on cancelation. Tv had a show playing with no sound but captions. A little much on the language and sexual activity being Shown

The Wellington at Southport has restored health and well being for my mother. The caring staff and in house physician is nothing short of a miracle and gift to our family. We will be forever grateful for the care they provide. Also, the one-on-one engagement by Kim Wood with the memory care residents. The social interaction is so important. It is clear the staff at this community cares.

I visit the dementia unit with my therapy dogs. The unit is very well run, and the residents really like to visit with the dogs. The director has special things planned for the residents every day. The residents are treated with respect and care, and have many activities to choose from each day.

While everyone is very friendly, I do have a concern. My best friend, Kathy Self is in room 76, and her family bought her a new TV and brought it to her on Sunday. They were unable to get the WiFi password for the Wellington, so she isn't able to watch TV. Maintainence was supposed to "fix" that issue on Monday. When I was there today, it still had not been taken care of, so I asked the receptionist to place another request. She didn't seem to know how to do that. Kathy's cousin, Stephanie, called the Wellington, as well, this afternoon to request maintainence help, but she felt like the response she got was less than helpful. Any assistance in getting this issue expedited and resolved would be greatly appreciated by all of us, especially Kathy. Thank you for taking this request seriously.

I’ve been serving this facility as a volunteer chaplain and hospice chaplain For over four years. The facility is always beautiful, clean, and inviting. The staff is caring, compassionate, and loving toward the residents. The residents are happy, busy, and enjoy their lives. This facility illustrates the truth that life in old age does not have to be sad or boring. The residents have meaningful activities, extensive community, and a positive environment.

Big changes at The Wellingon at Southport have made a huge difference. There is an all new Management team and the change in the building is palpable. The new Executive Director is making lots of positive changes. This is a great place!
