During my stay I fell out of the bed and yelled for help and no one came. I layed on the floor for 20 minutes in urine before an aide came to see about me. Yelling as to why I had urinated on myself. Then upon leaving my bill was not discussed with me. I received a huge bill telling me that I owed what Medicare didn't pay. I told them that I would pay on the amount monthly. After two payments, the next thing I get is a letter from a collection agency telling me that they had my account demanding full payment. I told them that I had an arrangement but that didn't help. They started a payment plan from my account direct draft charging me 8% interest, and legal fees. I am retired on a fixed income. For this agency to ignore my agreement because I couldn't pay if off within the months that they allotted to send it to a collection agency is appalling. Based on the quality of care and how I was treated owing a balance that was never explained to me. I would not recommend this facility for health care.

I actually think this is one of the best nursing homes in the state and we see a lot of their patients come through our ER. They took great care of my mom, aunt and uncle.

My father is in the rehab facility. The nursing staff and therapists have been excellent. The reason for the low rating is due to some of the aids. Examples of unacceptable treatment include skipping providing meals, leaving him unclothed in a lift chair for extended periods of time, and replacing Depends without cleaning him. I wish we could move him without causing a set back in his treatment. If you want your loved one to be treated with dignity look elsewhere. Update: Met with Patti today. We greatly appreciate that she is promptly addressing all raised concerns.

The staff was always very helpful. Facility is warm and welcoming. Response to any situation was almost immediate. I recommend Hooverwood Living to anyone who has a need for skilled nursing care.

My mom was resident in skilled nursing for over a year. While some nurses, aides and staff are marvelous, many are not. Among my concerns: Aides played with their phones instead of working. Her room wasn't cleaned regularly and was so small she couldn't access her closet and struggled to turn her wheelchair. Meal service didn't offer choices. Furniture was left in hallways for weeks creating a fire hazard. The building a/c completely failed in July for several days. She had pneumonia and only two months after release from a pulmonologist's care, developed a chest cough-it took five days for an x-ray to be done at which point she again had pneumonia. I moved her out. A letter outlining my concerns to the CEO went unanswered. I strongly recommend you find someplace else for your loved one.

My aunt stayed here for a few weeks for rehab following a fall. The place is truly disorganized. The A/C was not functioning for several days (in July). Many staffpeople were apathetic. Bad food. You should send your auntie somewhere else.

My elderly parents, both with significant health and/or mental issues, moved to the assisted living portion of the facility and had a wonderful experience. The nurses were attentive, warm and friendly. My dad called one of them his 'guardian angel' as he needed a lot of help and she was always there for him. After he passed away we needed to move my mom to the memory care portion of the facility, where she still is today (after about a year). We have been happy with the care she continues to receive, the nurses and aids have been very good and my mom is happy and content. The senior staff has consistently contacted me with any medical issues, we are invited to meet with them on a quarterly basis to discuss care or any concerns and we are very pleased with mom's situation. We visit several times weekly so have a pretty good idea of how things work there and are very glad we chose Hooverwood for my parents.
