Brookdale is a wonderful facility. Everyone is properly trained to care for those with a variety of types of dementia. We are so happy with the care my father is receiving here. Everyone is so patient with my dad and they care for him so well.Brookdale is unlike any other place because it is specifically designed for those needing a memory care facility.I cannot thank ALL of the people who work here enough.

It is impossible to give 5 stars to a care Facility. They would have to be perfect. Which NONE would be!Brookdale has 99% wonderful staff. The bad ones on staff dont stay long.Pros. Good care givers. Everyone is easy to talk to. Questions answered. Love the layout. Each area quickly becomes a family. Great security in place. Meals look good. Pretty quiet.Cons. Too short on carers at night. 1 caregiver cannot get everyone ready, take care of problems and clean. Many times I went there and could find no care giver (on break, dealing with a problem or throwing garbage). My husband had a bruise on his butt that ran to his knee and no one knew what happened. Not enough attention paid to patient toilet times. Came twice to find my husband sitting in feces for an extended time based on rash he developed.During COVID they implemented a face time program so that we could see our loved ones (most patients cannot work a phone)! Wonderful idea. Fell flat after 2 calls. Serious disappointment.For the price I really liked Brookdale and thought the caregivers and staff were really top notch. The cons, I think are common and Brookdale does everything they can to make it a great place.

Brookdale Carmel has been a life saver for our family. My Step-mother needed respite care before we could move her in to her permanent memory care facility, and Allison made the process so simple. The attention to detail, genuine care, and excellent service have surpassed my expectations. What was a daunting, scary process, was made smooth and easy with Brookdale Carmel. On the day my parents flew into town, a Saturday, Allison even messaged me to make sure they were safely here. As I transition my Step-mom to her new home, Allison has made even that easier. Thank you so much to the staff and especially Allison for your help!

Dementia is hard. It is hard for the person and for caregivers and loved ones. Brookdale Carmel took my loved one when no other facility in the state would. Some dementias cause what are refered to as behaviors. These are extremely challenging and stem from the hallucinations, delusions, and paranoia that sometimes come with dementia. Long story short, frightened people with dementia can become physically aggressive. This is traumatic for loved ones like me. When I apologized for it Brookdale staff took it in stride and said simply, its ok. We know he would never do this if his brain was working. This is what we do. We care for people even when they have challenging behaviors. The staff at Brookdale were so supportive and compassionate to both me and my loved one. When my loved one was in hospice they allowed me to stay with him 24-7 until he passed. I cant thank them enough for their support, love and care of us during our very difficult journey.

We had a great experience here during what is for all families a very difficult time. As others have mentioned, it is well organized and well run and the nursing staff we worked with were caring and top-notch.

We moved my father here after being in the most horrid place in St. Louis. He was loved, cared for, and treated like family. I could not have asked for a better place for him to spend his last months. They laughed and cried with us. Their efforts brought him back for a short time! Thank you to each and every one of you that cared for him. He died on Thursday morning. We will remember him always and always have a warm place in our hearts for the kind and loving staff at Brookdale Carmel! Thank you just isnt enough!

We cant thank all the staff at Brookdale enough for taking care of our Dad James Glasscock! Your love and care for him while he was there was above and beyond our expectations! We most certainly pick the right place to take him to. From the bottom of my heart thank you. We will never forget you!
