Professional, knowledgeable staff. Kind, respectful, caring people. Jennifer manages a well organized, efficient operation that provides outstanding care for the residents. My mother was well cared for in the last months of her life. Many thanks to all of the wonderful staff members at Cedar Creek.

Choosing a memory care facility for a family member can be overwhelming. The initial visit/tour of Cedar Creek of Bloomington alleviated any concerns. The staff thoroughly explained their policy of supporting the residents whole mind/body experience. Classes are offered in art, music, movement as well as guests speakers. My mother enjoys all that Cedar Creek has to offer. The facility is well kept and has a welcoming atmosphere. My mother immediately felt welcomed. She enjoys socializing with other residents and staff. The staff genuinely care about each resident. Overall, our family takes great comfort knowing my mother feels safe and protected at Cedar Creek. We are grateful she is happy and healthy due to the excellent care she receives. The staff have gone out of their way to provide phenomenal attention to my mothers well being and in such a pleasant manner! Thank you so very much for all you do!

The facility is beautiful and comfortable but what is amazing is the staff. My mother's condition improved while she was there and she was able to move home. This was because the staff is so caring, attentive and concerned about her really getting better. They were there for us in a very difficult time. We are glad she is home but are so grateful for all they did!

My Dad moved to Cedarhurst from another facility. The difference is night and day. Cedarhurst is so much brighter with attractive, broad hallways. And the food is much better. They have multiple activities scheduled throughout most of the day. So, there is a lot more social time for Dad to interact with other residents. We worried that Dad would have difficulty adjusting to his new environment. But we needn't have worried. In two days he was fully engaged with the community. The main thing, though, is that they are fully staffed. I can usually find staff easily whenever I need to talk to someone. The staff are great! From top to bottom.

Cedarhurst is clean and friendly. Feels homey. My father seems more alert and speaking clearer. His skin has been cared for. Private accommodations are clean and spacious

Our mother is a resident at Cedarhurst. The care given to our mother is both dedicated and heartfelt. Mom is not a pushover even at this point in her life. She recognizes caring people who "treat her like a human being". Mom hugs and kisses the staff. That comes from the heart. Our journey has been personally challenging, however, we could not make the trip without the good people at Cedarhurst. The nursing and administrative teams are trusted advisors. Yes, there are little things here and there that for some elude perfection. Life is not perfect. Consistency of effort and sincerity matter most. Those qualities are here in abundance from the Director and executed happily by the entire team.

My wife entered Cedarhurst nearly a year ago. It was good at the time, but has grown to be a place that has transformed her life. I see her every day, and we laugh together in a way that had not happened for the last few years. I would not have imagined a year ago that her life could be as good as it is. This morning I visited and we had coffee together, then assembled a set of shelves together, took a walk outside and sat in the sun in the courtyard, and then came back in and worked a jigsaw puzzle . I look forward every day to my visits with her. I credit this success to excellent medical care, and above all to the kind and thoughtful staff at Cedarhurst. I have not met a single staff member who does not go the extra mile for residents. I have noticed, by the way, that staff turnover seems less than it was in the past, and less than in most similar institutions in Bloomington. Part of the secret for the staff's caring attitude may be the clear sense that staff have a sense of shared community among themselves as well. All of the staff are great, but four have had a special impact in Barbara's life. Jennifer, the head of nursing, and Michelle her assistant have regularly reached out to comfort and help her when that was needed, and I know from my conversations with them that they are always thinking creatively about how to help her. Sometimes when I cannot get over, Jennifer has asked Barbara if she would like to go out for a walk… Julie, the chef, and James her assistant have made an extra effort to design meals especially tailored to Barbara's preferences. They even bring her meals to her room because Barbara prefers to eat privately; James has great conversations with her when he comes by. Julie hugs EVERYONE she meets, including Barbara and me. And her food, which I have shared when Barbara has her meals, is really good. I have read many reviews of services and products myself, and I know this is an unusually enthusiastic review. But I assure you it is from the heart. I am very grateful to everyone at Cedarhurst for what they have done for Barbara. UPDATE AFTER ANOTHER 6 MONTHS: I am just checking in to say that what I wrote half a year ago still applies, and even more than when I wrote it then. I am so impressed with the compassionate and careful treatment of residents. Jennifer, the head nurse, learned that my wife liked to go on short walks to a nearby pond, and has often gone the extra mile to check her out and take her down to the pond. A few months ago, one of the staff acquired a wonderful dog that she named "Cedar"; Cedar spends every weekday at Cedarhurst, and my wife loves him. These are just two examples, but ALL of the staff are kind and caring. In many ways, other than the inevitable decline in memory, I now once again have with me the wife I knew ten years ago. I give full credit for this to the good care she has received at Cedarhurst.

Cedarhurst is the warmest and most caring senior community around the South Indiana area. The residents are loved by all the staff and the residents receive that same sentiment to the staff. I couldn't imagine working anywhere else Continue to be great!

Jennifer & staff of Cedarhurst has done a wonderful job caring for my MIL. Thank you for making a difference and caring for her! We've heard that all long term care places are the same. Under staffed and they never address our concerns and issues for our loved one. They never have the appropriate clothes on our loved one. Tonight it was cold and snowing, we called in advance to tell them we were picking up and wanted a winter coat. No socks with clogs and a light jean jacket-no lining. My friend is a board of health state inspector nurse and told me that Autumn Hills is classified as an assisted living care facility. If this is the case then they can do what they want and when they want??? This is a question. Always be an advocate for your loved one! Hoping to make all of us feel better because I know they deserve better!!!

We have an amazing team

Our mother was there for right at 11 years. There were a couple of hiccups along the way, but we were elated overall with the service and opportunity for her to live there. There are and have been some true gems that have chosen to work in this memory field. We experienced some great ones during that time. It's important that the people have some specialized training in working with memory care. We loved the design of the building with a large enclosed, outdoor area with seating and beautiful plantings to enjoy many months! We loved the circular design of hallways that allows one to exercise by walking in a circular area within the interior. We loved the "activities" room for crafts, music, etc. The large dining room is very nice. There are a couple of tv rooms that one can watch movies or tv alongside other residents. It is a secured facility that the residents and guests must be buzzed in. That provides the residents' loved ones with "peace of mind" that they cannot just arbitrarily walk out one of the entry doors. That was a fear that we experienced prior to going to this location that specializes in "memory care" living. (A parent out walking on there own from their own house was a fear that I never want to experience again. That along with activities for the resident, meals provided, laundry care and activities at an attractive facility with caring assistance were all very good.) Many thanks to all of the staff and owners.

Because of sub-par care and serious health concerns, in January I moved my mother to Cedarhurst and could NOT be happier about the move. All the upcharges for "special" services (<$2k a month) at the former facility are included in even the most basic residential package. My mother is kept clean, dry, healthy, and as happy as she can be at this stage of her life. Every member of Cedarhurst's staff goes above and beyond in celebrating and treating residents like family.
