If you are considering Alto for Memory Care for your loved one, you might be interested in reading this review. My four sisters and I chose Alto for our mom, Jean, who was initially on an assisted living floor. We were a bit apprehensive when we first realized she needed to transition to Memory Care, but it has proven to be the best possible place for her to live. Why? Because the staff on the 4th floor Memory Care Unit is superb: Oumer, Jerri, Juana, Liz, Journey, Maya, Oliver, nurse Renee... let me explain. My sister Annie and I are there every day, so I feel qualified to speak to the atmosphere created on the 4th floor by this remarkable staff. I come straight from work in the evenings, arriving around dinner time or a bit after. There is an atmosphere of peace in that dining room, which is amazing because the staff themselves are heavily engaged in all aspects of that very busy time. But the residents are at peace, being served, fed, fussed over, and cared about. The staff notices when they need something, and they meet their needs with kindness, despite the obvious pressures of the moment. After dinner, though, is when the most remarkable thing happens. All the residents are cleaned up and taken to sit or rest in the "great room" — either near the TV or in the sitting area. Somehow, the staff has created a sense of "home" during this hour like I have NEVER experienced before in any other facility. I look forward to it every evening that I'm there. I often get to the unit at that point in the evening. The staff never knows exactly when I am going to arrive, so there is no way that what I find there is manufactured for "show" in any way. I will INVARIABLY find Oumer, Jerri or Juana sitting next to my mother, holding her hand, talking to her, making her laugh, asking her about her life when she was young, etc. If Oumer is sitting with my mom making her chuckle, I might see Jerri with an arm around Marilyn's shoulder, having a real conversation with her, and Juana hugging Betty and asking if she can get her more juice. The only way I can describe this accurately is to say that when I sit down in this circle, I feel like I'm sitting down at home with family. We all talk together, and laugh together, and I feel like I know the staff as people, and know the other residents a bit too, which is nice, because they are the people my mom is spending her time with every day. There is something magical about this moment, and when you are there witnessing it, what you see is that your parent is not just a "number" or a "task" that needs to be completed. Your parent is a person who is cared about by a staff who has taken the time to get to know them as a human being, with all their quirks and issues. There are times when my sister and I can't be there, and to know that our mom will still get a loving hug from Oumer, Jerri or Juana while we are away, absolutely means the world to us. One final thing I want to add: Last week my sister Annie had breast cancer surgery. Those same three stellar staff members, Oumer, Jerri and Juana (The A+++ Team ) got together and bought her the most beautiful flowers, a sweet teddy bear and a card, and sent them home with me to deliver to her (see photo). Think about that. Are those the kind of people you want taking care of your mother? Yes, they are. My sisters and I are grateful to the 4th floor staff for their care, and grateful to Courtney as the Executive Director for creating an environment where staff of this caliber can flourish and do what they do best. Thank you, Alto staff, administration, all of 4th floor, and especially Oumer, Jerri and Juana, for not just loving our mom, but caring about our whole family. Suzanne Luchs

My father spent his last years of his life at Anthology (Travanse) of Wheaton. The staff was always very helpfull and attentive to my fathers needs. When I visited the the facility it was always clean and everyone was very pleasant to deal with. During the time my Father was there, the staff made me feel they had a personal connection with my father. That made me feel he was in the right place. Thank you for all you did
November 2020
Choosing a place for a loved one is never easy, and I did my homework. I picked Travanse and they exceeded my expectations. You can see the cleanliness, the nice rooms, and the great amenities when you tour places, but you cannot see the people behind it - that was the key here. From the GM to the servers, I had access to all of them, and they really helped me and my father navigate things during a tough time. I would highly recommend Travanse.

My parents, both now deceased from natural causes, lived at Anthology in Wheaton. I have nothing but good to say about that community. When you first walk in, you meet the secretaries at the front desk. They know every resident by name and go out of their way to help the residents and converse with them. The nursing staff and care givers treat each resident with care and respect, and are great about keeping family members informed. The kitchen staff and dining room servers are kind and accommodating to the resident diners and their idiosyncrasies, going the extra mile to make the residents smile. The executive director and business manager have been honest and helpful. The activities director is the absolute best! She truly loves each person in her care, and it is amazing to see how she greets each resident and enjoys them for who they are and the history each one of them brings. Before coming to Anthology, my parents lived for four years at a much bigger, fancier retirement facility. There were more activities available at that facility, but it seemed more like a business. Anthology is a smaller, close-knit community that appreciated my parents and honored them. The variety of activities is not as numerous as the larger facility, but there were plenty of programs and activities to keep my outgoing mother happy and busy. Independent home health providers as well as hospice companies have spoken highly of Anthology. The building is clean, it smells good, and is only about three years old. I moved my parents to Anthology due to a need for assisted living care which was unavailable at the other facility. My only regret is that I didnt have my parents move to Anthology sooner.

Im far from being a connoisseur of assisted living communities, but Ive seen many. Travanse is one of the best. Yes its decorated well…as they all seem to be these days, but what makes it different is its charm. Its smaller – manageable to get around – and the folks that work and live there seem genuinely happy. Ive been there a number of times visiting residents – and the good vibe is constant.
December 2019
There are so many activities available that keep people happy and engaged.
November 2019
My parents had to move to Travanse under stressful circumstances and the staff really was great in helping us with the last minute transition over Thanksgiving weekend! My dad has alzheimers and my mom was ending up in the hospital due to all the stress of keeping things going at home. Even though they werent ready my brother and I living out of state helped make the decision that it was time after moms 2nd hospital visit. They are thriving at Travanse and love the staff. They are in better health now than a yr ago and we are thankful for the friends they have made there and its like having an extended family. Being far away it has given my brother and I peace of mind that help is just a push of a button away!

Travanse Living at Wheaton is a beautiful community! We have been so impressed with the staff and the programs we have attended. I would recommend this facility to any family looking for senior living for their loved ones. We even bring our dog with us when we visit and he is a welcomed guest! They have a gazebo where we often talk with other residents and families and enjoy the nice weather.

I really do not understand why Google Map kept on messing this direction. Was there something wrong with the Google Sattelite? Or maybe my xfinity Mobile didnt know how to point the GPS Direction. First when I turned on for this Travance Assisted Living Place which my co workers said its Brand new place. The Star wasnt meant for the place its for the Google Map that sucks in giving direction. Travance is an awesome place great workers and all brand new facility. When I get here the Google Map pointed me to make a left along Main St. in Wheaton unfortunately when I made a turn it directed me to a the Walgreens Fence of course I cannot jump into the place and when I made a left on Parkway street which is the main street towards my direction, the Google Map sent me again to a different direction. I am hoping Google Map would be able to fix their satellite GPS, otherwise itll take me to a cliff of no return.

We appreciate the caring and friendly leadership and staff at Travanse. Excellent activities, exercise classes, and medical care.

I have visited Travanse and gone on a tour with my parents who are considering a senior living facility for the future. Everyone we met was so nice and helpful. They explained things well and were able to show us all around the facility. We were able to see the difference options for rooms . They answered all my questions as well as those of my parents. Travanse is very clean and well equipped.
