Please do not place your loved one at Elevate Riverwoods, especially if they have dementia and are unable to advocate for their own care. Upon arrival, we got the fancy sales pitch from their leadership team, leading us believe our father was in safe and caring hands. But each visit began to reveal a profound lack of care and a marked decline in his health. We received apologies and assurances from management (right up to the top) that his care would improve, but it never did. Within a few days of leaving Elevate and receiving proper care, he started to make a remarkable recovery – underscoring that Elevate was a toxic environment. Do your research. Google their rating on Medicare.gov. Google the complaints filed with the Illinois Department of Public Health. It’s sobering to say the least. Please take this advice to heart and don’t make the same mistake with your loved one.

Outstanding Recommendation for Elevate Care I was initially wary of many rehab centers, but chose Elevate Care based on word of mouth. Fortunately, Elevate Care Riverwoods did not disappoint. From the moment my mother arrived, they bent over backwards to accommodate her and alleviate any concerns. The staff was consistently attentive, and everyone was incredibly kind. Ironically, I had to enter a facility myself after a severe back injury and experienced Elevate Riverwoods firsthand. The team was understanding and compassionate, surpassing all my expectations. If you're looking for the best place for your loved one and facing that daunting decision, you will be relieved with your choice if you select Elevate Care Riverwoods. I must give a special shout-out to the exceptionally kind and supportive team, particularly Kennedy Wright and Elizabeth Faingold. They were always there to guide me through some of the hardest times with their kindness and humanity. I'm proud that I made the best choice in choosing Elevate. … Elena at the front desk was approachable, patient, kind and very knowledgeable about topics outside of her scope of practice…. She's able to help me schedule a appointment for my mother-in-law to get a haircut. In addition, she let me run to go get some cash to ensure she had a spot in line. Being a community health nurse, I am in and out of nursing homes, such as: SNF, SMFHS, supportive living, assisted living and even group homes. With that being said, my experiences are never usually as positive as mine was tonight. Elena is a fantastic person to be greeting patient's families, deliveries, etc. My opinion, she definitely deserves a raise, no pun intended. Thanks again for the assistance Elena! 

The staff at Elevate care, prove to be an asset to my mom's recovery. The nurse Lyle was very attentive to my mom feeding tube to and giving her her medication after checking her vitals. The CNA Sean and Jasmine cleaned my mom very well and made sure she was comfortable once they moved her from the dialysis chair to her bed. When the CNA came in to feed my mom, her name was Norma. She was very very good with my mom. She gave her small spoonfuls of food and took her time giving her plenty of water to drink as my mom had been dehydrated and recently hospitalized. Norma went the extra mile called my mom by her name and asked her if she wanted the TV turned on or not. That's a big deal when you lay in a bed all day you need some type of interaction And having the TV on in my mom's room is a big Help.

This is the greatest place you could bring someone that needs a place like this. My dad lives in a motorcycle crash in August. He had five surgeries, and we ended up at Whitehall… After a week we were there, we were begging to switch to Riverwoods. My dad is 76 and had cast on three of four limbs, So he pretty much had to have everything done for him. Whitehall would leave him on a toilet for hours or never answer his nurse call. Here at elevate Riverwood smile. When they look at you, they say hello in the hallways, and cannot do enough For everyone here. Everyone is treated like royalty. My dad was told he was never going to walk again and two months after being here, he's walking up and down the halls. I cannot recommend this place enough, but always will

I visit your facility every Tuesday to distribute communion to the residents. Bianca does a great job of gathering everyone for our visit to the memory care unit. Her help is very much appreciated. I'm writing to commend the workers at your facility on behalf of my mother, Phyllis R, who was transported to Elevate Riverwoods after her release from Highland Park Hospital in the early evening on Thursday, December 8. Because of a communication mishap (not involving Elevate), my mother was transported and admitted to Elevate's Memory Care unit for rehabilitation instead of another facility where they were expecting her. Melissa Weldon, the Memory Care unit director, was just wonderful about coordinating the various steps needed to accomplish the transfer to, a place my mother is familiar with and where her doctor is the medical director. The efficiency with which the transfer was handled — all of this was was completed by midday December 9 — was notable. Melissa ordered a PT/OT assessment to ensure the appropriateness/safeness of transferring her in my car and, when we were leaving, they assisted in placing her in the car. The OT and PT were caring and capable, and I regret that I don't have their names. Also exceptional, was Brenda Ibarra (Intake Coordinator). During my mother's short stay, I got to see first hand how the staff interacted with their patients. They were kind, respectful and compassionate. All deserve special recognition. Thank you!!!

Anytime I have ever (mostly unannounced) visited Elevate in Riverwoods, there are alway happy residents around and the building is always CLEAN! If my mother should ever need this kind of care again, it would be at Elevate. We are 40 minutes away and yes, there are other options closer to us, but Elevate is far superior to other places we have been. I have seen their staff go above and beyond again & again. They truly care about the residents and their families.

The nursing staff and aids at Elevate Care in Riverwoods are friendly and attentive and keep us informed if Dad isn't eating well. Dad is a new patient there and previously lived with us in our home. He has been bedridden for the past 2 years and had to stay in his room since we were unable to get him into a wheelchair. His 1st week at Elevate they ordered him a new large padded reclining wheelchair and I was able to take him out of his room for the first time in two years!! I don't know who was happier him, or me! I would definitely recommend Elevate care.

We decided to leave our Mom as a long-term resident. She wanted to stay: home” Yes, she got her home here, in Elevate Care . The professionalism of Kennedy -The administrator, Larissa, and Kathy -nurses are extraordinary. We want to have a special thanks to the special person Elisabeth -Social Services. There are no words to describe her big heart, professional attitude and appearance, and the attention and love that she is giving to each patient. She is always organized, and able to resolve all issues with a smile and great respect. We also want to thank you for having such great quality professionals and humans. I’m very happy with my experience while visiting my brother! Elevate Care has several nice amenities: a beautiful dining room with outdoor access to a lovely patio, and my brother has told me that the food is very good. An excellent nursing staff who is very attentive and friendly, a beauty salon for both women and men, a large workout room, several lounge areas equipped with LED TV’s, a library with many books and a built-in fireplace. We took a long walk together and ended our walk in the back of Elevate where there’s a charming gazebo! What I’m very impressed with is that Elevate Care feels like home! I would recommend this place to anyone who needs extra medical attention. As a side note, when I visited today, I stayed after my brother went to bed (early, because he was tired) I had to stay until 7:30 when my boyfriend picked me up. I was in the dining room alone (other residents were eating on the dining area) but I was sitting alone- there was a nurse ( I don’t know his actual title) named Jose’ Rivera who was very helpful when I asked him to help with a couple things. Very impressed with his helpfulness and quick response to whatever I asked him. I applaud Elevate for having Jose’ and others as friendly on staff!

My husband was in this facility for 30 day rehab. He has dementia and vision issues. The staff was very helpful, friendly and on top of everything regarding his care. I noticed he was very comfortable during his stay and never pressured me to hurry up and get him out of there, as he had at other facilities. I have been to many facilities in this area, and I would highly recommend this one if you are in need of assistance.

Last fall, our father was moved into Elevate Care. He passed a couple of weeks ago. The care he received while there, from his first day to his last, was beyond exceptional. The staff really care about the residents there. From long term care to hospice, you can tell they accommodate all needs. My father's children always had access to him, always could get questions answered and quick responses to our dad's needs. This is a lovely place and they seem to really care for their residents, but there's something missing. While there, we played gossip music for our loved one and before we knew it, we were surrounded by other residents who were singing along with the songs. Music is so desperately needed in this facility. It's soothing to one's soul. Also, my mother-in- law doesn't think that they get enough fruit. Lol...they can plant fruit trees in her room and it wouldn't be enough fruit. Other than that, they should play music for their residents. It's healing in so many ways.Thank you...
