My grandmother resides here, and I must say that the cate she receives is very good which tells you that the staff is very curious and professional with a personal touch for each resident. The facility is very clean, and orderly. The living quarter my grandmother stays in is cozy and well maintained. Highly recommend for anyone looking to place an elderly love one in an assisted living facility.

My mother recently passed away and this is quite difficult to write even now. But I want to let everyone know: She was a smarter, healthier, and more engaged person in life because of Manor Court. She was incapacitated in so many ways, but her dignity was never sacrificed because a few of my siblings and I made the right choice by encouraging her to become a resident here. The administrators and PAs, RNs, and CNAs made her daily life more palatable because they CARED (She absolutely adored so many of the nursing staff)! And, in turn, I KNOW my mother made their lives more enriching because she respected their kindness and expertise. She was also just a wonderful person. I will forever miss this lovely and charismatic woman in my life, but will also be indebted to the gracious and attentive care she received by these very lovely people at Manor Court.

My mom is in Manor Court of this facility and has assisted me with this review. We value transparency and we aggregate online reviews to make decisions. Im a very detailed person and unlike most, Im not posting a glib or revenge review. With nearly 25 different facilities in 2 states, my expectation is that Corporate in Galesburg responds to the reviews. I have little hope other than a standard cliché (but Corporate better be reading this). When deciding among the facilities in the area, Peru was, frankly, the only choice. Location mattered for sure. But, my moms past experiences with Bounce Back and our face to face conversations with current residents-families were influential, too. OVERALL RATING: 4.5 STARS (Google only allows 4 or 5 but were in the middle). ROOM-RENT RATIO: 3.5 STARS. A monthly SHARED room is rather prohibitive. The rent is higher than several others in the area and yet, as you will read, the other options available made us choose Peru (we were lucky a bed was available, too). Still, we think the cost is not aligned with the economics of the Illinois Valley--higher than acceptable standard costs of the area. Not good. The room is a *shared* entity: TV, Closet, and Bathroom...Similar to college dorm rooms, except bigger bathrooms in each room. Each resident gets one four-drawer dresser and a night stand. The bathroom is big enough for moving in stand-aids and wheelchairs and has a shower that very few residents use. Ive seen some use it as a closet (no way for my mom…she has too much taste!). FACILITY: 4.3 STARS. Clean. Smells fresh unlike other facilities. Rarely see anything on the floor and common areas. Cleaning-Housekeeping personnel are excellent. But, lets get to it: When is Corporate going to do a refresh of this place? Get colors. Replace lights. Knock out walls in the entrance to increase activity space. Apologies to Nike but: JUST DO IT! CNA-NURSING Staff: 4.5 STARS. We have little interaction with the RNs but overall, we have found them to be responsive to my mom when she needs them. Most are diligent and quite respectful. Still, the primary success of Manor Court is based on CNAs (yes, read that again). With very few exceptions, make no mistake about it: THE CNAs WORK THEIR A***S OFF! They retain dignity in residents and engage talk in others. They sweat (the rooms are hot!), transport, bathe, clean, feed, and so many other duties that if they arent paid at least $15 an hour, Corporate should send Amazon gift cards immediately to them (are you reading me Corporate?). The word incentivizing comes to mind, isnt that right Corporate FOOD: 4 STARS-ish. Not the best all the time, but we get the challenge of finding three meals each day for all kinds of diets and restrictions. Some of this corporate food is good and the kitchen staff during meals is very kind and remember resident preferences. Kudos for effort and I know the senior staff has solicited residents on food options. ACTIVITIES: 5 STARS. My moms favorite thing about LV-Manor Court. This team does a phenomenal job making things happen! They are thoughtful, other-centered, and quite creative. They adapt activities to various residential styles and needs. My moms stay at LV is better because of the activities. Love them. Love the unit. THERAPISTS: 5 STARS. Knowledgeable. Competent. Individualized. Friendly. Just top of their game. ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF: 4.5 STARS. Internal politics aside, weve found senior staff to be receptive, attentive, competent and calm in extraordinary situations. They explain things clearly if the family doesnt understand. When we had concerns, they responded efficiently, fairly, and strategically. Further, the two front Receptionists and the Maintenance guys are also admirable in their leadership and efficiency. In the end, Google only provides us 4000 characters to write an evaluation. We hope these comments help you in your quest to find the best place for your loved one.

When I had I loved the one in this facility that the nursing staff didnt really appear to attend to the patients as closely as they should. Often times I would see multiple CNA-nursing staff up and down the halls standing there chatting when you could hear people asking for help. The nurses on staff acted like they were above any manual labor most of the time they were in the kitchen area when I was there . My loved one was left in diapers much longer after rehab then they shouldve been. The idea of rehab is to get them back up and on their feet and be able to function on their own not to have to count on a diaper to make it to the bathroom .Dont get me wrong I realize this is not an easy job but if this is the job that you signed on to do and are being paid for it then you should be doing it.
