As an advocate for individuals who live with disabilities and their caregivers, I have been fortunate to serve this community as an employee since April 2018. Gateway at River City is a unique community, and it is fortunate to have a number of residents who are dedicated in their roles within the Resident Council leadership.Together with the Gateway team members, residents and caregivers continuously work to communicate with empathy and respect, removing barriers to accessing services in the larger community, while celebrating their talents and many gifts such as artistic talent and participation in the political process. Kudos and keep up the great work!!

gateway@river city is just over 1year old,ive been here since june of 2017 and the facility is new,clean and well kept.most of the staff does a very good job and cares about the residents,but there has been a problem with getting and keeping management positions filled.also getting and keepingdietarystaff has been a problem and food quality and quanity has been inconsistant ,and with staff turnover service suffers (please excuse spelling mistakes)update 8, 26, 2018 still problems with management staff turnover -the latest administrator only stayed 6 months and she did very little to make thing better and easier for residents while making things easier for staff,at the same time making RULEchanges unilaterally without regard to the lease(a signed contract) or state ,federal,local laws and rules,including one new rule that I think is a violation of the ADA .now we will have a temp.admin. till we get the fifth admin. in 15 months since ive been here,that makes a total of NINE different admin.s.maybe this time itll be different.yeah right,when cows fly.ta ta and good luck?todays date is December 14,2018-update to my last review and the new, current administration (Jami)is much better than previous ones,dietary continues to improve and other improvements have been made ,I would now(and have)changed my rating to 4 of 5 stars,theres still room for improvement but everything and everyone seems to be working together well.Good jobs everyone.goodnight and have a pleasant tomorrow.

I have lived at Gateway at River City since we open in October 2016. I have been very pleased with all aspects of living at this beautiful facility. The staff are helpful and pleasant and easy to talk to. The surroundings are beautiful to say the least. The food and dining are excellent and I am always pleased to have my guests join me for a meal. My own apartment those small is large enough to serve the purposes that I need. The staff do an excellent job of cleaning and assisting me with all my medical needs. Although we have had changes in administration things are seeming to improve what little they needed to improve. The nurses and CNAs are all helpful whenever I have a medical crisis or just a simple medical need and make sure that I always have my medication on time. The activities are excellent there is always something on the calendar for us to do. Some of the activities are run by other residents and also by myself which allows us to be fully involved in whats going on in our surroundings. Gateway is truly designed so that if we never wanted to leave the facility we would not have to. There is a store, a club room, a library, and arts and crafts room, a beauty salon, a main dining room and also Cafe, a theater room, a game room, a fitness room, and even our own in-house therapy for physical therapy occupational therapy and speech therapy. All these things Under One Roof allow us to maintain our health Within one area and without having to travel two other facilities. The administrative staff are wonderful and are always willing to listen and help us solve problems. I dont know what else could be said about Gateway except that it is one top-notch facility for anyone disabled ages 22 - 64. I would recommend anyone to come to the facility and check us out.

I went to take the tour they offer. It is amazing how clean it isand how nice the staff are.It is far better than 5 stars.It is more like 6 to 7 stars.

Right when we walk in we are welcomed with a keychain and key that says welcome. A former employee made promises that havent held true. There are a lot of rules that seem to pop up all the time, these rules should all be told in the beginning when we move in. However, Gateway at River City does feel like home. Todays food- crab salad was wonderful!

Gateway at River City has been the best help to come into my life since the lose of my independence in 2016. It has taken only a little time for me to forget about my circumstances and feel good again. Ive lived here since December 19, 2016. There have not only been many changes in Gateway at River City over the past several months, but in myself as well. We have all grown. Gateway is an awesome place to live. It may not be what you had planned on for your future, but this is SO much better than the alternative!!! This is HOME!!!!

I am really happy my sister is here. Was hard for her to accept change the first week. She is loving it and voice the care they give her and others. She keeps busy doing crafts, cooking, surviving classes etc...She use to call me everyday. She now calls me one day a week and talks about her week with excitement.. It is good to see her self confident blossom. Thanks to the wonderful staff. I am empress and speaks highly of Gate Way!

Its a good place , but I got let go for things I knew nothing about. When ask they didnt believe me. I told the truth I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEMS THAT WAS GOING ON.

Gateway at River City is absolutely great! The CNAs are wonderful, the staff is wonderful, the cooks are great and the residents are all kind and friendly. The cooks do their best to accommodate me and my diet because I have Celiac Disease, which means I cannot have anything made of wheat, barley, rye and oats. I absolutely love it here. I was terrified at first but all the staff has showed me its a good place to be. If I would have a choice to recommend a place for someone with health problems to live I would definitely recommend Gateway at River City.

I love it here the staff are pleasant, food is better than in a nursing home, I have my independence & still get the help that I really need. To me its the perfect place for my wife and myself, we love it here.
