0/10 would not recommend, management team sucks director, LPN (RNC) assistant director, kitchen management has kids running around while food is being prepared the LPN at the cottage wears crop tops very unprofessional and unpleasant profanity that they use is terrible I would not recommend unless they cleaned up with a new group of managers

My mom has been at Bickford on Willow Knolls in Peoria, Illinois since 6/28/24, 2 months and 3 weeks. It was a bumpy start with poor CNA care. Issues addressed. Changed for the better. Now having communication issues with Health and Wellness Director RN. After a phone conversation with her regarding changes to my mom’s care plan, I followed up with 6 texts. It has been 3 weeks with 1 text reply stating she would call me. Never did. Called today 9/20/24 to speak to Director. Left voicemail after speaking to Family Advocate who was also going to email director to call me. No call back. I was overall very happy with Bickford but this issue of being ignored regarding requests to change the care plan is unacceptable. This is not what the Higher Path looks like for my mom. 10-07-24 Still no contact from facility. So disappointed.

Walking in to the facility I got a warm welcome by a staff member. I see that employees engaging with residents, laughing, some spending time with them after breakfast. I really got a good vibe here. The building looked attractive, clean, up to date and maintained well. Staff was courteous and kind.

Shana Nelson is the new Executive Director at Bickford. Under her guidance your loved one will be well taken care of. No doubt in my mind she is my daughter. I can personally tell you she is dedicated to helping others. Her work ethic speaks for itself. She has 20 years plus working with the aging. She is a wonderful mother, daughter and friend. Beautiful clean facility.

Pleasantly surprised the decor was uplifting. The staff were bright and cheerful. Very clean. Talked to a young lady her name was Shana Swenton she was very informative and answered all my 50 questions with a smile. Impressed. Wish the best.

Our first impression: Look how clean this place is! It made the process of enrolling our mother that much easier. Apartments were very spacious. So many activities and amenities! Very friendly staff. Shana Hatstat was the best! She really knows how to have that personal touch. I think we know where we will go when it’s time. Thank you for putting our heart at ease!

What a great place Bickford is! Jori and her staff are such a professional and warm pleasure to work with. Their facility is such a beautiful place to live, and the food is delicious. The care their employees provide are 2nd to none, and everyone is so incredibly thoughtful. Everything feels like home and the facility layout is simplistic. Jori will make your parents or grandparents new transition a memorable experience. They are able to help by providing fantastic recommendations to help with downsizing efforts and floorplans; and their moving company recommendation (Mordue Moving and Storage) is always so efficient, professional, and easy to work with. Moving into Bickford will give the entire family great peace of mind knowing that everything for them is going to be taken care of.

Bickford house has beautiful building. Apartments are spacious and clean. I’m a caretaker and I work well with the staff. Outstanding staff includes Rosetta CNA and Lucy LPN both with a heart of gold. Going above and beyond their jobs. The residents are engaged in activities and outings.

We really like Bickford! Mom has lived in Peoria, all of her adult life and did not want to leave the area. It has still been a bit challenging for us, but we have been able to work it out and Jori has been super helpful! The staff is wonderful!

As a private contractor offering specialized painting therapy, Bickford welcomed me with open arms! The residents always a delight to work with whether in memory care or assisted living. Even though the two areas require a different type of care, one thing that is consistent is caring staff who are attentive to their needs. Often times assisted living residents voiced to me how much they enjoy their lives there with a variety of activities and how the director always made them feel welcome and kept things running smoothly. Lastly I think the location of the facility makes it easy for family to find it to be accessible in their busy schedules.

I want to say my daughter and I were given a tour by Jordan p. In March. I fell in love with bickford that day. We asked a lot of questions to jori. and when I could move in to the apt. I picked . Moving my mom from one assisted living facility was a very scary task. My mom has anxiety and I was so afraid it would turn out very stressful, however everything from meeting with the Bickford director to making the decision to getting her moved in went smoother then I could have ever wished for! Now a few weeks later the facility and staff has surpassed my expectations and my mom loves it there! She has become more social and this is the happiest I have seen her since I initially moved her into an assisted living facility! I am so grateful for Bickford! And the care the staff provides my mom!

When it comes to making the decision of placing our aged loved ones in a care facility, from their own home, it is a very daunting task. I’m thankful we have Bickford in our area, as an option, to provide loving, nurturing care, for those, we love the most!

My sister was there for a short time before she passed, at no fault of the staff. She said the food was good ,sometimes not so good, but the staff was friendly and helpful. They have a full kitchen so a family member can go and cook something for them or if they are capable, they can pop a dinner in the microwave.

I am a resident here at Bickford and this weekend especially the food and the wheelchair bound! We had no menu to pick from help good us what we would eat and gave out one plate at a time. The residents in W/C's did not get to their rooms until after 6pm unless another resident takes them. So many people are angry over the poor quality food, and care. No one were happy, many eat alone if they ate all. Some had family members said this a Nursing Home. Do we have no hope?

My mother has lived at Bickford since Oct 2021. There has been a great shortage of health care workers across the country, and Bickford has also suffered from staffing issues. However, I've found the people who work there to be kind and caring, despite the hardships of being short staffed. My mom enjoys living there. Before discounting Bickford because of low reviews, I would suggest paying them a visit.

The low reviews are for Bickford of Peoria Memory Care NOT for Bickford House. Bickford of Peoria Memory Care is located at 2000 W Willow Knolls Dr Peoria, IL 61614. Different management teams are located at each facility. Bickford House is an elegant facility meticulously kept and upgraded. Residents enjoy order from the menu sit down meals that are all prepared fresh and on site by their own chef and staff. Apartment rent includes meals, weekly laundry, utilities, emergency neck worn button and bathroom and bedroom pull cords, satellite TV, etc. Apartments are equipped with kitchens with full sized stove, refrigerator, countertops and cupboards. Walk in showers. A "level of care" determines what services are needed for each resident. A constant flow of provided activities are included, there is a library, family meeting room, the GREAT room, elevator to navigate the 3 floors. Residents are encouraged to make their apartment their own, hanging pictures on walls, bringing their familiar furniture and furnishings. Maintenance includes 2 men on site that immediately respond to the smallest need. Jori, the facility director is not only extremely personable but also thorough with follow through even to details. Cost is below the average in Peoria. Assistance is provided in applying for benefits, insurance, etc. On top of all this Bickford House is pet friendly!!!
