We recently toured John Evans Supportive Living Community while exploring options for our parents, and we were pleasantly surprised by our experience. The community has been beautifully renovated and is clean, welcoming, and comfortable. We were especially thankful to learn about the financial assistance options available, which opened our eyes to a possibility we didn’t realize was available for our family. It was reassuring to see a place that offers a caring environment while making quality senior living more accessible. We left feeling encouraged and grateful that this could be an option for our parents

Steve gave us a tour of the whole place , and answered every question we had. It is a beautiful place to live. No hands down I would move my father in law there. He would be happy

The staff and food is great. The facility accepts medicaid, financially was good our long term plans. The meds are generally managed by pill pack bags, so that means no bottle of meds allowed. Even over the counter meds will be tossed. We transitioned from another facility out of town and best compliment was mom wished she had moved sooner.

My parents have been here since March 2026 after living in our family home since 1964. It took me a long time ans several doctors to convince my parents it was time they lived somewhere that the assisstence level was better to their current needs than I could give. I can't tell you how thrilled we all are at how well they are doing. The staff, food, activities and all the new friends they have met is perfect in every way. They live it at John Evans.

John Evans is a wonderful place if you are looking for care for your loved ones. My dad has been a resident there for three years and the staff is amazing they treat him as if it was their own dad. It gives me peace of mind knowing my dad is well taken care of there and would highly recommend to anyone looking for assistant living community to call home this would be the best choice. A place my mom can call home. Staff is always friendly, loving and attentive. Assistance with her laundry is wonderful. She enjoys the food in a restaurant manor not a cafeteria line. She has made Friends and loves the games they have and the events they plan. And dealing with my father at a nursing home I wish this was known to me at that time. He would’ve enjoyed his remaining years at John Evans. I’m grateful that John Evans is here for my mom and it’s impressive walking in there. I felt like we were walking into the Hilton beautifully decorated such a warm atmosphere.

My Mom likes living there. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. They make you feel welcome and they keep you connected to what is happening with your family member. The staff is very helpful in answering any questions and concerns you may have.

Susan and Steve basically lied, they never told me that I would have to apply for Medicaid to help pay for rent. They moved me in and then tell me . if I would have known this before I wouldn't have applied to get in to this place, the care I received was great the CNA"S responded quickly, food was great. the staff was not trustworthy since they didn't tell me the truth I had to move out because didn't qualify for Medicaid. they should have a person apply for Medicaid before they move them in, but they say can't do that. Because have to live there.

We had the privilege of face painting at the John M. Evans Supportive Living Community and we simply were in awe of how nice the staff was and how happy the residents were. It was a joy to be a part of their event, but we also just wanted to comment on how clean and nice the facility was.

My mother spent the final phase of her life at John Evans Supportive Living Community. My family and I could not have asked for a more compassionate, attentive, and supportive environment for her. Steve made the application process less complicated than what I anticipated. From the moment that my mother arrived at John Evans, the staff made her feel cared for and respected. Thank you to the nurses Cher and Susan and their team of CNA's whose warmth and dedication brought real peace and comfort not just to my mother, but to our whole family. The business manager Susan's leadership and personal attention that she dedicates trickles down to her staff. Susan was always accessible, supportive, and genuinely involved. When my mother was transferred to a hospital for her final days, Susan kept in touch and was supportive. Losing a loved one is never easy, but knowing my mother spent the last phase of her life surrounded by people who truly cared made all the difference. My family and I will always be grateful to the staff at John V Evans Supportive Living Community. I wholeheartedly recommend it to other families seeking compassionate care for their loved one.

From the application process to approval the staff at John Evans have been amazing. A shout out to Steve for all of his help. A special shout out to Susan W., she is a true advocate for Seniors needing assisted living. So calm and helpful through the process, which can be tedious. My mother loves the meals, served restaurant style and variety of choices. A monthly calendar on the website which is great for me to know what is going on during the day to inform my mother. Thankful for this place for my mother.

My Mom and myself had a great experience with her stay at John Evans Supportive Living. From receptionist, to admissions to finance and care professionals, everyone was great. I always felt like my Mom was safe and cared for and about. Thank you to everyone there! Your hard work and compassion was noticed and appreciated.

While they took care of my mother in law whole she was there, once she passed they gave her family just 2 days, 2 DAYS!, to clean out her apartment! This family is grieving and trying to process what happened, and trying to arrange a funeral, and all John Evans is worried about is getting that apartment cleaned put so they can get someone else in there to keep that money rolling in. Shame on you John Evans!

My bad e perience was as Pekin Manor. If someone falls one time at your place you will say they cannot live there any longer and ship them over to PEKIN MANOR. I WAS THERE LITTLE OVER TWO WEEKS AND THEH KEEP YOU IN BED OR IN A WHEELCHAIF BECAUSE SO BIG YOU CANNOT WALK AND I ENDED UP WITH A BEDSORE BEFORE I TRANSFERED OUT OF PEKIN MANOR. I HAVE BEEN IN MA Y REHABS. AND PEKIN MA OR AFFILIATED WITH YOUR FACILITY WAS THE WORST NURSING HOME/REHAB. I HAVE EVER BEEN IN. TRUE FACT.

Mom has lived her almost 7 years and loves her home at John Evans. It's a beautiful place to live as well as being very safe. Mom always tells us the food is wonderful. Pre pandemic we would eat with mom occasionally. They have gone above and beyond during this quarantine to keep the residents busy and happy! We can rest assured that mom is happy, healthy and safe at John Evans.

I visit supportive living facilities as part of my job. I have always been impressed by John Evans. They have many long-time employees who really care about their residents. The community is always clean and nicely decorated and feels homey. I like their selection of food, for the residents and they have a great group of residents. There are ample activities to keep residents engaged and active. I think it’s a great supportive living community and recommend it as a top facility in the area.

This is a great place. The staff has always been professional and helpful for the needs of their residents and families. I have referred families to John Evans which is something that I never do, because what makes one person happy doesn't make another. However in this cases I have made an exception and the families I have sent there have been very satisfied and well taken care of. It is a clean and happy environment for seniors. Cuddos to them and their staff for a job well done.

The staff here are absolutely wonderful! I have had the privilege of helping out the Activity Department from time to time and they always go above and beyond to make sure their residents are happy and having a good time. This is a very nice place with a lot of caring people.

My mother moved in recently and has been very happy with the facility and meals, her apartment, all the staff and the positive atmosphere they promote, the activities available, and the friendly residents. As the daughter of a John Evans resident, I am so pleased for her and have such peace of mind that she is living in such a fine place. The office staff are extremely helpful and collaborative with navigating paperwork also.

My mom has lived there for seven years now. The staff is excellent and responsive; I'd start to list them by name, but I would end up missing someone - they all really are fun, caring, great people. They provide a multitude of activities, rides to local appointments, help with paperwork, and so much more. The care Mom receives while she is still living independently is a blessing to me.
