Brookdale Oak Park has been providing excellent care for my loved one. Coordination and continuity in care have been excellent throughout. Staff are responsive and attentive to the needs of both the residents and the family members involved which has been greatly appreciated. This has included help with accessing additional needed community based services. My aunt’s accommodations allow her to have the varying levels of assistance she needs while having a sense of home, friends around her and access to her favorite neighborhood shops and activities. It is a pleasure to provide this review and to recommend Brookdale.

My mother has been a Brookdale Oak Park resident since 2009. The facilities are well-maintained and are very safe. But more importantly, the staff is excellent - they know the residents and care about them. Their work to keep the pandemic at bay has been heroic and successful. This place has been a godsend, for my mother, and our family. She has been a resident of Brookdale Oak Park for almost a year now. Her apartment is lovely with a very nice view, The meals are quite good. Residents are friendly and vibrant. Most importantly, Mom loves the daily social interactions. The Brookdale Oak Park staff is kind and attentive, and Mom has joined the choir, become part of a book group, and she regularly goes to the second floor to see movies, or gather around a puzzle in the library. We appreciate her being close by, in a safe building, and being able to work with the staff to meet her needs as she ages. It was the right choice for her at the right time. We all love it!

My brother found the Brookdale in Oak Park near his home, for our dad to move to when he needed the care of an assisted-living facility. He was a resident there for 5 years and was in the absolute best of care and conditions. Can't say enough good things about the facility and staff, I'm not sure you could find better. So many great essential things come to mind, the room, conditions, the staff, the food, the amenities, the neighborhood, etc. All the residents are treated so well. Our dad was very content there and it was reassuring to know he was in such a wonderful place. Highest praise and thanks to the Brookdale in Oak Park, and highly recommended! One additional note, that I've visited friends in two other Brookdales and they were likewise outstanding, so it seems Brookdale sets a standard for excellence in assisted leaving.

Brookdale has been wonderful for my mother-in-law. I cant say enough great things - the staff is so caring, they work to keep the residents engaged. You can be as involved as you want to be, my mother-in-law is in two book clubs, on the board, and does numerous activities. During these COVID times, they have been so careful, always keeping families informed, and have clear rules guided by science to keep everyone safe. AND, they are now vaccinating all residents and staff. We are so happy that she is there.

The staff provide a warm, friendly and caring environment for my mother. Brookdale has allowed her to have many friendships and enjoy a variety of activities to keep her engaged and active. My mom moved to Brookdale from out of state at the start of the pandemic. The staff was and has been amazing! Their kindness helped us move and establish life and care under extraordinary challenges. They have kept mom safe all through the pandemic, provided for all her needs in ever more thoughtful and supportive ways. The apartment is beautiful, with lovely views: It is well-maintained, and easy for walker and wheelchair. She loves the food, and is looking forward to taking part in community activities after everyone is fully vaccinated.

After my dad passed away in late 2015, I had to make the decision to move my mom to a senior community. I visited different nearby communities, but once I visited Brookdale Oak Park, I knew I had found my moms new home. Always caring and helpful, each of Brookdales employees has made my mom feel secure, comfortable, and supported. The staff is quick to communicate with both her and me regarding any concerns we may have. Their concern for the residents is apparent through their consistent attention and positivity. The result was that my mom had absolutely no problem transitioning from her Oak Park home to Brookdale and I experienced complete peace of mind knowing we had made the right choice. I highly recommend Brookdale Oak Park to anyone looking for a senior community that offers the best to its residents.

Our mother lives in a lovely apartment in the Assisted Living part of Brookdale Oak Park. She is 95, and the extra attention she receives is helping her to be healthy and to stay socialized. All staff are kind and knowledgeable. Our questions are always answered, and our requests are responded to quickly and efficiently. During the last nine months of Covid, Brookdale has kept our mother safe. The entire staff works hard to make sure that all current safety recommendations are followed. We recommend Brookdale wholeheartedly.

Its a very clean, beautiful and inclusive facility with a great staff. I moved my parents into Brookdale Oak Parks assisted living in 2016 (after looking at many facilities). As my Dads health declined, Brookdale was the perfect place for them as the staff is attentive and caring. My Mom continues to live in assisted living and we are very happy. There are so many activities and events and a physical therapy group right in the building (which weve used often). The location is top notch with a park and downtown Oak Park right outside the door! I highly recommend Brookdale Oak Park.

She made friends easily and participated in activities and it was a relief to her family knowing she was in a safe place. She moved from Independent Living to Assisted Living during the 6 years she was there. Brookdale is an extremely well managed and lovely environment. The location and views of Oak Park and the city skyline are enviable and bring a lot of natural sun light. The top floor dining room, lounge, and outdoor space is something Id love to have access to! Ive always felt great about the independent living apartment my family member has and the many professionals at Brookdale. But its never been more comfort as it is during Covid. I believe my loved one is safer than I am with the measures proactively taken every step of the way. In addition to the many staff members who are ensuring the well being of all residents, Id like to recognize Kathleen Mullaghy whos the Executive Director. Kathleen has been proactive with communications to residents and family. Her transparency and genuineness is remarkable and greatly appreciated. Im grateful for Brookdale!

Downsizing from a home with many memories and a garden that is beautiful and peaceful was a daunting task. The process is one that many seniors face when they reach a certain age. The question we asked ourselves was, “Do I want our children or other family members to make decisions regarding the next stage of our lives?” The answer was a resounding NO. When we found Brookdale OP we knew our next step was solved.We were warmly welcomed by staff and residents into our sunny new residence. We have made nice friends over our five years in Oak Park. There are many perks one being no need to cook and the other being located in Downtown Oak Park. It doesn’t get much better. Ask us, “Do you like living at Brookdale?” Our quick response is, “If you have to move somewhere, this is a wonderful place to be.”

I'm at Brookdale Oak Park. My room is nice and comfortable, but it doesn't have a roll-in shower. The food is average. They have two dining areas: a general dining area on the top floor with a nice view of the surrounding community, and a small dining room on the third floor for assisted living folks. The staff is very nice and competent. They have a library, outings, speakers, and games they play with the residents.

I like the fact that Brookdale Oak Park doesn’t feel very clinical. It’s very clean and very pretty. When we first walked in, the staff greeted us, and they were extremely lovely. They went and got the person that we were meeting. Laura -- one of the directors -- took us on a tour. She was exceptionally patient with my dad who was a little bit hard in hearing. She was very nice with him as well as with us. They were very forthcoming, very informative, and very hospitable. It was really a nice facility. I was impressed. They were having a little symposium on Shakespeare which was nice so a little movie and a special luncheon. Their food was very good, and the upstairs restaurant had a spectacular view. They have a crafts room and a lounge room where they have board games and card games. They do movie nights and social hours. They have Monday Manhattan nights. They do a lot of things, being a smaller facility. Every time somebody leaves, they redo the whole unit. They put in new carpet, they repaint, and they clean, and the rooms are very spacious. I think they do a nice job there.

Brookdale is my mother's extended family. A wonderful home where she feels welcomed and loved. The staff is the perfect blend of professional and caring. She finds intellectual, social and creative outlets available there. Her apartment is beautiful, and she is able to get assistance with whatever is necessary. I love how I feel a family at Brookdale as well. The convenience of it being in the heart of Oak Park makes visiting easy and often. Brookdale Plaza Oak Park is a definitely a clean facility. The people that we’ve dealt with were all good and knowledgeable. The unit that we saw is a one-bedroom, and it has a nice kitchen. It looks nice and bright.

I was impressed with Brookdale Plaza, I liked the place. I thought it was a little expensive but I spoke with residents and they liked the food and they were happy. The physical plan was very nice, it was nicely decorated and the rooms were very nice. I liked mostly everything about it. I came into contact with three people at the most and they were helpful and informative.

Holly Court Terrace was close to a mall area. It was a little more than what we could afford, but the facility itself was nice. The staff was very attentive to your needs. They had studio apartments and they had larger apartments, so the room space was definitely adequate. They had a chef who prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Then you also had the ability to prepare your own meals, for those who required assisted living, and then those who were not capable of preparing their own meals. They had a workout center, but they also had group activities for those who weren't able to participate in the regular workout facility. That would have been a place that I would have looked to place my aunt.

I visited Holley Court Terrace, and I thought it was a nice facility. It was comfortable like a home. The rooms were very nice. I noticed that they had a nice menu. If my mom didn't have dementia, this would be a nice facility to go to. However, it doesn't have a memory care program, and my mother needed that. The lady I dealt with was somewhat knowledgeable, though there were a few questions she couldn't answer. She told me she had heard that question before. However, if you heard that question before, you had to do research and have some answers for the next set of clients who would come in. I also thought they needed to have more staff.

Holley Court Terrace was one of the ones that I would consider. I think it was a very nice facility. I'm very familiar with it and I have been there a number of times. The location is very good. There are residents there that I know. Their facilities were very attractive and very nice. It was a very attractive building and it was nicely decorated. What I found most attractive there was the number of common rooms that they have so that one doesn't have a feeling at least being in an apartment where you're isolated from everybody. They did have a number of events to which I had been invited. The people there were very nice. The price was attractive, too. The food was very good. They did have a restaurant and good food service. The accommodation was attractive and nice. However, the problem with all of them was that they seemed very compact.

We went to check out the Holley Court Terrace assisted living facility for an acquaintance looking for his aunt. The building was well kept and reminded us of a nicely appointed condo facility. There was lush greenery surrounding it, with seating areas. The patio areas also had barbeques where they have hosted and private parties. The staff greeted us and agreed to show us around, despite not having an appointment. The front desk was like a hotel -- with very friendly people. There were fresh flowers in the waiting area. The shared communal areas all had activities occurring, from reading to games and socializing. The residents appeared to be enjoying themselves. Outings and scheduled events include casual and fine dining, cultural venues, films and theater in the community and Chicago region. They also host parties for residents at the facility which they encourage friends and family to attend. The food choices looked nutritious and delicious, as well as the regular snacks. The restaurant provides a fine dining experience, with views of nearby Chicago's gorgeous skyline. The living suites were all a nice size with plenty of fresh air and light. Each unit had individually controlled temperatures and very large windows. The full kitchens were really nice, as was the more than ample closet space. In all, this is a well designed facility with caring and attentive staff, where the needs of the seniors are handled well, while providing the dignity of personal freedom.
