My siblings and I are so grateful to have found this gem of a place for our 93yr old visually impaired mom who is still independent! We moved her in almost three months ago and everything from helping her find the apartment that met her stringent requirements, to moving her in, to helping her acclimatize to her new surroundings has been positive. Samantha, Lisa and Shontell have fielded many calls and emails from us siblings and are always prompt to address any concerns or requests. Our mom seems like she is adjusting well to her new life and that is thanks to the wonderful staff at Brookdale! Our mom is enjoying walks to the nearby park and being close to her kids!

My 87 year old grandmother has been there for almost 2 months now (joining my other grandmother who's been there for 3 years), and is already noticeably happier than she was at home. Every time I talk to her she tells me about the new friends she's made and everything that is going on that day. At first, it was a little scary not knowing how she would transition to living in her new apartment, but the community, activities, and staff seem to have made it easy.

The management, from Executive Director to our amazing Costodial staff have provided a beautiful environment. I'm active and the food is good. As I moved here from the East coast making new friends has truly been wonderful. My days are filled with activities and the location couldn't be better. As I always say, "If you have to be somewhere, this is the place to be."

The Brookdale experience has been efficient, friendly, and warm. The facility is beautiful and full of activities. The views of the Chicago skyline and the tree tops of Oak Park are a pleasant surprise. We have had many family occasions celebrated on the 13th floor. Brookdale is now our go to place for family functions so that we can all gather in a great space with our father. The best thing about Brookdale is the staff. They have been helpful and most importantly universally friendly, understanding, and welcoming.

Brookdale Oak Park has proven to be far better than my hoped-for expectations. The people, both residents and staff, are outgoing, friendly and service-oriented. High resident engagement and staff's outstanding support have provided intellectually stimulating and fun activities for all kinds of interest groups. Chefs provide good meals and my dietary needs have been wonderfully met. The architecture and physical grounds are well-maintained, and there's a lovely public garden a block away. The location is amazing: one block away from downtown Oak Park, where we can walk to a grocery store, restaurants, the public library, a movie theater, shops, banks, book stores. I'm very happy my daughter found this new home for me.

My mother moved in June 2025 and I've just spent a week visiting her. I am deeply grateful for the experience and community she has at Brookdale - it is an incredibly dynamic and interesting group of residents. I had a very friendly and warm experience - meeting people on the elevators and at meals, and at a variety of resident led activities. The staff I met were friendly and helpful and the leadership seems deeply committed to creating a positive, healthy and supportive living environment. I appreciated the personal touches (attention to food allergies, a place to charge her EV, etc.) and love that mom is able to live in such a wonderful community. It is perfectly located - just 2 blocks from shops, cafes, restaurants, gym, etc. We decided on Brookdale after the highly personal and thoughtful engagement with Natasha and then subsequently with Samantha, Marjan and others. They helped us navigate a very difficult time and help mom feel supported and welcomed.

Brookdale is the largest senior living corporation in the country. But along with that is their attention to the needs and concerns of every individual. Residents are friendly. Staff is very accommodating. Residents all seem happy. Dinners are delicious and there is always dessert! Transportation is readily available to Dr. Appts Grocery stores, personal care (hair, nails, etc) and Oak Park is a town with many amenities. Every thing you need is available or there will be someone who will help you access your need.

Searching for senior living that would ease some of the burdens of aging, my wife and I chose Brookdale OP for nearby family and the vibrant Oak Park community. We moved in late January 2025, with staff efficiently enabling our move into our new high floor, 2 bdrm apt. From our first week here we’ve been very happy with Brookdale OP. It is everything we hoped for in independent senior living, comfortable physical setting, supportive staff, nice quality food service, and engaging activities. However, what we’ve discovered that makes Beooksale OP optimal for our goals and values is its community of accomplished and engaging residents.

Brookdale Oak Park has been providing excellent care for my loved one. Coordination and continuity in care have been excellent throughout. Staff are responsive and attentive to the needs of both the residents and the family members involved which has been greatly appreciated. This has included help with accessing additional needed community based services. My aunt’s accommodations allow her to have the varying levels of assistance she needs while having a sense of home, friends around her and access to her favorite neighborhood shops and activities. My brother found the Brookdale in Oak Park near his home, for our dad to move to when he needed the care of an assisted-living facility. He was a resident there for 5 years and was in the absolute best of care and conditions. Can't say enough good things about the facility and staff, I'm not sure you could find better. So many great essential things come to mind, the room, conditions, the staff, the food, the amenities, the neighborhood, etc. All the residents are treated so well. Our dad was very content there and it was reassuring to know he was in such a wonderful place. Highest praise and thanks to the Brookdale in Oak Park, and highly recommended! One additional note, that I've visited friends in two other Brookdales and they were likewise outstanding, so it seems Brookdale sets a standard for excellence in assisted leaving.

This place has been a godsend, for my mother, and our family. She has been a resident of Brookdale Oak Park for almost a year now. Her apartment is lovely with a very nice view, The meals are quite good. Residents are friendly and vibrant. Most importantly, Mom loves the daily social interactions. The Brookdale Oak Park staff is kind and attentive, and Mom has joined the choir, become part of a book group, and she regularly goes to the second floor to see movies, or gather around a puzzle in the library. We appreciate her being close by, in a safe building, and being able to work with the staff to meet her needs as she ages. It was the right choice for her at the right time. We all love it!

My mom has been living at Brookdale since 2016. It’s in a great location and my mom likes to go on short walks to Trader Joe’s and the nearby park. Independent living facilities like Brookdale are great for outgoing, social people but not everyone is an obvious fit. My mom is very private and introverted and even though she chooses not to take part in the activities she still likes living there because she absolutely loves her apartment, she feels safe (as opposed to living alone in her house) and she knows the staff are always their for her when she needs them.

Brookdale has been wonderful for my mother-in-law. I can't say enough great things - the staff is so caring, they work to keep the residents engaged. You can be as involved as you want to be, my mother-in-law is in two book clubs, on the board, and does numerous activities. During these COVID times, they have been so careful, always keeping families informed, and have clear rules guided by science to keep everyone safe. AND, they are now vaccinating all residents and staff. We are so happy that she is there.

It's a very clean, beautiful and inclusive facility with a great staff. I moved my parents into Brookdale Oak Park's assisted living in 2016 (after looking at many facilities). As my Dad's health declined, Brookdale was the perfect place for them as the staff is attentive and caring. My Mom continues to live in assisted living and we are very happy. There are so many activities and events and a physical therapy group right in the building (which we've used often). Our mother lives in a lovely apartment in the Assisted Living part of Brookdale Oak Park. She is 95, and the extra attention she receives is helping her to be healthy and to stay socialized. All staff are kind and knowledgeable. Our questions are always answered, and our requests are responded to quickly and efficiently. During the last nine months of Covid, Brookdale has kept our mother safe. The entire staff works hard to make sure that all current safety recommendations are followed.
