What a truly remarkable place Independence Village is ” a community that genuinely looks after and honors those who deserve it most. Years ago, my son worked at a local senior living facility where many residents eventually moved to Independence Village in search of something better. Through conversations with those residents, he learned they had finally found the happiness, care, comfort, and peace they were hoping for in their golden years. Fast forward to 2025, when I became involved as a club advisor for Tech Connect “ Bridging Generations at Metea Valley High School. Our club focuses on connecting students with older generations through tech support but more importantly, forming meaningful relationships, shared experiences, and creating moments that remind seniors they are valued, remembered, and loved. As we searched for a community partner to bring this mission to life, Independence Village welcomed us with open arms. Independence Village has become so much more than a senior living community to us ” it feels like family. The residents and staff have opened both their doors and their hearts, and every visit reminds us why this partnership is so special. The joy, kindness, and warmth throughout the community are undeniable. We love our visits!!! One of the most meaningful moments of this partnership was helping make Ray’s dream come true. Ray, a 100-year-old WWII veteran, went to war before he ever had the chance to attend prom or graduate in 1945. Thanks to the incredible support of Nathan and Barbara, along with the entire Independence Village family, we were able to give Ray the prom experience he never had. It was a magical and emotional experience that none of us will ever forget. We are so excited to continue partnering with Independence Village to create even more unforgettable moments and dreams come true for their residents. Thank you for welcoming us into your family and for showing what compassionate community truly looks like. We are forever grateful for this partnership and the friendships we have built along the way.

Nathan is an expert and absolutely is a calming force in helping you navigate your loved one’s future. Whether or not you select his community or not, he’s a helper, no matter what! The community at Independence Village is tight knit and warm and embracing. There is no expensive buy in and the monthly expense is for the duration of your loved one’s life, with no increase percentage yearly, which is a huge advantage. A great place, great services and a beautiful dining room, tons of activities and opportunities to make new friends!

He especially enjoys the outings to the Naperville Riverwalk and the outdoor music festivals. He also loves the in-house activities, which keep him engaged and socially connected right at home. Our mom was lucky to have her first step into community living be at Independence Village. From the moment we met with Nathan we felt like we had found mom’s new home. Nathan was there for us every step of the way as we got her settled in and beyond. Jim and Linda were always so caring and helpful as well. The entire staff at Independence Village is truly amazing. Mom was treated as family right from the start, as were her six kids. We felt so comfortable with her living at the Village; we knew her needs were being met the whole time she was living there. When extra health services were needed, they were easily added with a qualified, helpful, and kind staff. The Village is family-owned, which is a huge bonus and has a lifetime rate, so there is never a worry of rent going up every year. The residents seem happy, content and are very well cared for. They are respected and loved. Independence Village has wonderful activities and events planned that keep the residents engaged, fosters a sense of community, and brings them joy. Our family will be forever grateful for the time our mom lived at Independence Village.

After a week of my mother becoming a resident at Independence Village in Naperville, I can say that she definitely feels at home! From our first meeting with Nathan, to the welcome my mother has received from other staff members and most importantly, the residents, my mother can relax and enjoy herself. An older friend had a stroke and needed a place to stay where folks would keep an eye on him and hopefully draw him out to meet others so he wouldn't feel isolated. IV was chosen and Nathan and his team are doing their utmost to make him feel at home in his new surroundings. I dropped by one evening and wanted to stay myself as the staff and the environs are so inviting. Please tell me there's a book club and some card game fanatics (or that I can volunteer to run same) and I may become a fixture there myself!!!

After looking at other facilities in the Naperville area, our mother moved into Independence Village. Nathan and the entire staff have been extremely accommodating in addressing initial questions as well as the transition into their community. The residents, as well as the staff, have been extraordinarily friendly and talkative with mom. Their program to have an ambassador with the new resident to make introductions and suggestions has been effective and appreciated. The facility is clean with multiple spaces for gathering outside their apartments. Activities and exercise sessions are available for those interested in participating. Transitions from a decades long home to the next best thing can be difficult. Based on our experience, we can recommend Independence Village to be considered.

My mom was looking to return to a supportive senior living situation after complications from a recent surgery, and we were so happy to discover IV right here in Naperville! She loves her studio apt. and enjoys the food and variety of activities they offer. She is able to get to doctor appointments on their bus, and even has the option of adding a-la-carte services as needed. The facility is well maintained, clean and so positive!

Great fit for what our parents needed. Parents maintain their independence and dignity but are getting the help they need to still be independent in their apartment. (Meals, cleaning and med management). Lots of activities although they are not super social so hopefully the proximity will bring them out of the room. We are a month in and have already seen positive changes in their living conditions and health. Nathan is super helpful in explaining everything. The health aides are in contact whenever they notice something. Pricing is lower than the resort-package type places we looked at so manageable on their SS and savings..

I have been a resident of Independence Village since the end of August 2021. In these few months I have never looked back. The decision to come here, although hard, was the best decision for me. I enjoy the friendship I have made, and the comfortable living area that I have. Another drawing point is the variety and number of activities they offer, such as sing-alongs, games, puzzles, crafts, movies (like the new West Side Story!) gardening, Wii Sport leagues, an exercise room, and birthday parties each month. Community speakers and entertainers are often brought in to present informative, interesting, and entertaining lectures and programs. They offer outings to shop, to eat, and to visit other points of interest in the area. They provide transportation to our doctor's appointments. Bible study, church services, and communion are special opportunities that are provided by residents and local churches. The staff is warm and caring, they go out of their way to make this feels like home (like making grits for this Southern girl's breakfast.) Making us feel special is one of the many things they do. We have fun together everyday, so come join us for a refreshing and less stressful phase of your life! I cannot thank Jim, Denise, and Nathan enough for all of their continued efforts in making this community truly feel like HOME!

My mom first moved into another independent living center in Naperville four months ago and was absolutely miserable there. While that place talked a good game when we were visiting, they did nothing to truly help my mom integrate and connect to her new community. Senior living centers are about belonging to a community while still being as independent as possible. As others have mentioned here, Nathan, Jim, and the whole crew at Independence Village do an excellent job bringing residents together and maintaining a strong community where seniors are happy and connected, as well as supported and even proud of where they live. When I talk with staff there, they genuinely want to make sure my mom is happy, which is such a huge difference from the apathy and ignorance we experienced at the former place. My mom also raves about the food (particularly the homemade potato chips & desserts) and she’s recently started exercising every dayon an elliptical trainer, something I never would have considered for her. When I called her this afternoon, she was working on a puzzle in the Great Room downstairs with a fellow resident. She appears hopeful and happy for the first time in over four months. I am beyond grateful for how Independence Village has helped our family with this tricky transition for my mom. If you are looking for senior living for yourself or your family here in Naperville, you should absolutely take a good look at Independence Village. Pay very close attention to the actual residents. Happiness, connection, belonging, and contentment can’t be faked, although other places will always try.

When it became evident my mom could no longer live solo in her house, my sisters and I went looking for somewhere she could receive the care she needed while maintaining the maximum amount of independence that would be prudent. After checking out a number of locations, we decided on Independence Village. While there are many facilities with an equal number of amenities, what sold us on Independence Village were the people working there. Everyone we met seemed genuinely helpful and happy with their jobs. Nathan was tremendous - helping us by identifying things we should be looking out for (this was our first time in such a situation) and guided us through the process in a professional, friendly, and compassionate manner. Mom has been happy with the decision to move. She is delighted with the options for entertainment, deems the food delicious , and seems genuinely content. We're glad to have found Independence Village and are grateful for the caring support and peace of mind they've offered all of us.

While looking for an independent living community for my dad, a friend told me about Independence Village in Naperville. My wife, my dad, and I watched the virtual tour, and decided to tour in person because my dad liked what he saw on the video. During the tour, my dad was even happier than we expected when he found out there is a poker club, wii bowling, and that he can control his own heat and air conditioning in his apartment. He also enjoyed one of his favorite meals, tilapia with beurre blanc sauce. My wife and I feel that he will receive exceptional care and attention from the staff, and that we won't have to worry anymore that he is lonely and not eating properly since my mom passed away. We are all happy that he will be moving into his 1 bedroom apartment at Independence Village soon.

Independence Village of Naperville is a Wonderful place for Seniors. The staff was professional and really nice. The residents appear happy as they have many activities throughout the day to participate in. There was Christmas music playing in the Great Room and the residents were helping with the Christmas decorations. It was great to see all of the participation. They later played a game of dirty bingo with about 15 residents. They were passing around presents to see which one was lucky enough to win. They have an on-site Wellness center, All Life's Solutions, managed by an RN. If and when your loved one needs assistance with dressing, showers, or Medication Management, they have a great team of staff to assist with these needs. They serve 3 meals a day. I had lunch there and I received tomato rice soup, chicken marsala, salad bar and desert. It was really good! I was very impressed with the new Management team. They were talking with the residents, and everyone there is friendly and happy! I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for that one place that just "feels right" The price is competitive, the place is very clean, and the staff seem to really like what they do for the residents. Definitely not just a drive by...
