My mother lived at Heritage Woods of Mt Vernon one year before her passing. From the day she moved in she was much more happy than she had even been at home the last few years. She became more social and looked forward to the activities, meals and just walking the halls for exercise. The staff was excellent and created this environment. It was a wonderful place for her during that time.

I was honored to be included in their open hose last night. The management staff went above and beyond to host a fantastic party for the residents! A live DJ, root beer floats and candy bars for all! The 50s themed decor was perfect to set the mood for a great event! Thank you for all you do for your residents!

I would recommend Heritage Woods of Mt. Vernon to anyone needing assisted living! My grandma has lived at Heritage Woods for 3 years. Our family always has a peace of mind that she is well cared for. She feels safe there. Their staff is absolutely AMAZING! They check on her often, and if she ever needs anything they will call us. If you have a loved one that is in need of assisted living, please put your trust in Heritage Woods and give them a call. We are so glad we did!

Heritage Woods is an Amazing assisted living facility! My sister has lived there for over 2 years now. She is thriving and enjoying her life at "The Woods." You couldn't ask for a more friendly and attentive staff. She enjoys all the various activities that are available for her and the convenience of the restaurant style dining. Not only do I work there (8 years now) but I have also had a loved one live there as well. I can personally say all the staff are loving and caring to our residents and we strive to treat them as family and make everyday fun and enjoyable! Wonderful facility to have your loved one!

This is a very clean and friendly facility. The staff is always very nice and always there to direct you in the right direction. The residents always seem to be having fun. I know the administrator personally and the residents are in good hands!!!!!

Because it was a brand new facility, I have absolutely complaints about the building. It was always clean, smelled nicely (which is rare in homes like this, from my experience), everything worked, etc. The best part was that the staff actually seemed to care about the residents living there. They would tell stories of conversations with him, games they'd play, or how he liked the ladies. Often times if he wasn't in his room, we could easily ask any staff member walking by if they'd seen him, and they'd point us in his direction. Seeing them pay attention to what was going on around them and that it wasn't just a job made me feel comfortable having a family member staying there. They were always very accommodating, too. One year for his birthday, I was actually able to coordinate a surprise visit with him during an outing they were having. They brought me onto the bus to visit and have ice cream with him and everything. I'm so glad it wasn't a nursing home and not everything was locked down constantly, because I was able to still create memories with him via them without worrying about his safety constantly.
