Weekend caregivers are not as reliable or courteous as the weekly ones. Also, some evening folks can be difficult, and at times I understand you are short staffed, but that is Not our problem ! It seems that for the amount we pay, there should not be any issues at all! Sometimes it is difficult to reach someone in the office, again possibly staffing issue. Overall, the folks are good and seem to be receptive, just sometimes it can be difficult.

The staff is very professional and helpful without beach attitudes Charlie is clean. The food is good and the activities are plentiful if you want to participate.

My father was here in 2011. He was so hesitant to leave from Heartland. When I wheeled him in his room he had no idea it would be the things from his home! It made the transition so simple. I was allowed access to my dad 24, 7, 365. He had no complaints. He even participated in activities. He also loved the fact that he could order what he wanted from the Chef for breakfast! Im glad I chose Amber Ridge for my Father.

My father in law had a decline in health after the death of some loved ones. He needed to move from an independent living community in Indiana to an assisted living here. We looked at all sorts of places throughout the Quad Cities. When we toured Amber Ridge we knew this was what we were looking for. They were smaller than some but that was an advantage. The large places intimidated my father in law with their size as he had difficulty walking distances and I did not sense any closeness of residents with staff. In some the way they know a resident is ok is that they press a button on the wall! Residents have more interaction with staff at Amber Ridge and there are eyes on checks. There is more individual attention and all the staff are like family. There are facilities available like a theater room, a center garden, and physical therapy. If ever we have a concern, they are an open book at all levels of staff. How many places could you go to the directors office and they welcome you in by name and listen? The largest problem I have talking to the director Cindy is that its hard for me to not take up her time talking and catching up. She is more like a good friend. The nursing staff is very attentive as is the support staff. The most rousing review I have is that when my father in law moved here he was 130 pounds, fragile, depressed, often dizzy and with difficulty walking distances. Now he is 170 pounds, much stronger and mobile. He loves family day events (especially ones with music) and going on the occasional community trip to places like The Cellar.

I used to work at Amber Ridge and it was a beautiful community with so much to offer. The staff is exceptional, very loving and caring. The activities department and dining department is exquisite. I would highly recommend anyone to move their loved ones into Amber Ridge Assisted Living.

My Mother lived at Amber Ridge for about a year. I liked that she had her own apartment where we could bring her things from her home. She was unable to do some of the activities they offered so they came to her room to read to her and do her nails. The aids and staff were nice and helpful with my questions. It was a hard time for me and it was helpful that I could have some one to talk to during this time. Her next door neighbor was wonderfully sweet to my mom.
