I’ve been very impressed with the kindness and professionalism of this facility. The staff & residents have been very welcoming to my father who just moved here from Florida. He loves the view of the river and the location to the town. Papin and Amber were easy to work with the tours, coordination, application & move in. I feel happy my dad has a great place to live & is close to our home.

My Mom absolutely loves her home at Riverside Residence. She has made many friends. The staff is amazing. The director is so helpful and attentive to the needs of all residents. The owner has made lots of upgrades to make living at Riverside Residence very pleasant. They offer activities and entertainment on regular basis. Another perk is that there a a very nice river walk directly next to the facility. My mother can use her electric scooter and stroll the river and also get to restaurants in downtown McHenry.

She has had some ups and downs with health issues, and everyone here has always gone above and beyond to help support our family. The staff is great. We really appreciate all that John, the owner, is doing to continue updating the facility. Christine, the director, and staff are so caring. I would highly recommend Riverside Residence for anyone who wants their loved one to feel like they are still important and matter. We moved Mom here about eight years ago. One of our members, Joyce Yarbrough, lived at Riverside for almost a year before her passing. She loved it. Management is amazing. They treated her like family from the moment she moved in. The residences are wonderful! She had friends immediately. The events they throw are fun and the rooms are beautiful with views of the Fox River. This place is a must if your loved ones still want a little independence but you don’t have to worry at all if they will be loved and looked after. So thankful Joyce had the opportunity to live there.

My husband and I looked for a place for his 90 year old grandmother that was close by our home. I researched retirement places, and Riverside Residences had everything she needed for independent living. I liked the fact that the website was very transparent with pricing and amenities. I spoke with Papin, who couldn’t have been nicer on the phone and was very accommodating and understanding as to what we were looking for. When we went to visit, we were treated very well and Christine, (director) and Papin were so welcoming and not pushy at all. Papin gave a tour and explained options and showed us rooms. We were very impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms, the appearance, and what activities were provided by riverside to our beloved grandmother. We were sold the minute we walked in and saw what was offered. Within a couple weeks, granny got a wonderful room and was moved in. I’ve never seen our grandmother so happy and fulfilled! She’s already made many friends and is happy everyday. I cannot express our gratitude to Riverside Residences enough for providing our amazing grandmother with a wonderful place to live. We are extremely pleased and recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful community that really cares! Christine the Director knows all the residents and goes above & beyond. All the staff is so friendly. The location on the water is great, walking distance to shops & restaurants, some rooms have river walk or water views.

We are moving in! Aug 5th and Christine so far has made this hard descion much easier for us/ any questions knock on Apt 121 again this place is wonderful. 3 chef prepared meals . Cleaning services and I can fish right outside the building Fox River yeah, my dream

I’ve moved to riverside residence on March 17. The minute I came through the door, I was welcomed with open arms. Not just by the management, and employees, but also by the residents. I’m so thankful for what riverside residence provides. 3 meals a day, house cleaning, hair salon, pediatrist (once a month) and more. I especially look forward to Happy Hour on Fridays. I moved here because I was having a hard time getting around, especially with steps (I have muscular dystrophy). I’m so thankful that they offer PT and OT also. And what I’m thankful for is, I don’t have go out for it. It’s all right here! There are other fun things close by on The Riverwalk. I’ve taken my wheelchair to a few of the restaurants on a nice day that are in walking distance. In the nice weather, it’s fun watching the boats go by. When I was first told about this place, I was against it. But the more I thought about it, and when I moved in, I’m glad I did.

The staff at Riverside Residence are friendly, accommodating and make you feel at home. The location in unbeatable being right downtown and walking distance to so many cute local shops. They provide 3 meals a day, many activities to keep busy and cozy comfortable environment at an affordable price compared to other locations in the area. Highly recommend!

Great place for a senior to call home. The Director really cares and it shows. They have everything a senior could want including therapy, home care, activities, laundry, dining, etc. Affordable and gorgeous location. They're remodeling all of the rooms too!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Riverside Residence! I like the fact that it is a smaller Community. Therefore, I feel my loved one is safe and not getting lost in a crowd of residence. The executive director (Christine Rodgers), has gone above and beyond helping us with any of our needs. The front desk staff is very welcoming. It feels like you're walking into home not just another community. Last but not least is the location of Riverside Residence. It's right on the McHenry Riverwalk which is absolutely beautiful.
