My step grandma lived here for the past 8 years and absolutely loved it. She made so many friends and partook in so many of the activities they had to offer. They made it easy to visit her and the staff were always so sweet. She passed away earlier this week and her funeral was there today”the procession was amazing and the chaplain did such a great job. Couldn’t have asked for a better place for her to spend the remainder of her life. ’–

Who owns Plymouth Place?

I brought my elderly loved one here 3 years ago for the wound care, and I don't regret it. My loved one is diabetic and has the foot and leg wounds that go along with it. He also had pressure wounds from an extended hospital stay. We were informed by the hospital that these were "end stage" wounds. Not so at Plymouth Place! The weekly wound doctor visits and 3x/week wound nurse visits have actually HEALED one huge foot wound and kept the others under control. The pressure wounds were healed, too, slowly and over time. Kudos to Plymouth Place!

This review is specifically about one of your employees- Cheryl M. the Concierge Manager. I actually worked with Cheryl at her previous place of employment where she was sales assistant. after looking at several assisted living communities, solely because of Cheryl, I chose that facility for my dad to do a month-long respite, because she was always sincere, accessible, honest and up-front and just a joy to be around in spite of the sad circumstances for my dad. after a couple months, we made the difficult decision that my dad would move in permanently. I was extremely disappointed to find that she had left there and is now at Plymouth Place. while Plymouth place is a gorgeous facility, it is a bit far for our family to travel daily. in spite of the fact that there was no chance of my dad moving to PP, Cheryl has spoken to me almost daily and has been of the greatest assistance in helping me find the right community for my dad. she literally is an angel sent by God to help me get through this very difficult time. Cheryl is a special person who genuinely loves to help people. and she is someone who I immediately connected with. anyone who meets Cheryl will immediately feel her beautiful energy and strength. what an asset she is to the PP community! how rare it is to find someone who puts helping people above making a sale!! ™™ i’m happy to report that with a tremendous amount of guidance and support from Cheryl, we have found the perfect community for my father. I will always be grateful to her.

This place is not only beautiful but the people are caring. I had a family member there and I have not ran into any of the issues any of you bad reviewers state. You may have had an issue but it's clear that they are blown way out of proportion especially the one where the staff looked away and your family fell. Was the staff to stand and watch as she toileted. It's nasty to think of it. Look inside your self and see why you are so bitter to put others down. SMH at the Karens

Plymouth Place is a VERY BEAUTIFUL large senior retirement community in Lagrange Park Illinois. From the winding staircase in the foyer to the magnificent views from the balcony, Plymouth Place offers everything you would want and need in a retirement community. It has Independent Living apartments, Assisted Living apartments, as well as a Memory Care unit. It has a lovely garden where you can sit outside to eat, relax and entertain your family and friends, stores, and delicious meals that are served daily. There is also a Skills Unit or hospital-like unit where the residents can see a physician should they become I'll. You can listen to lectures, be driven to the theatre, or even have someone to shop for you! It is EVERYTHING and even more in beautiful Lagrange Park Illinois!

Plymouth Place is very much a Tale of Two Cities. As a place for those 75 and older to spend their final years, it is the best choice available in the western suburbs for those who have the financial means to qualify. The rank and file staff are, based on my mother's 8 years of experience and my family's observations, truly dedicated to the well-being and happiness of the residents. The flip side comes if you need to deal with the administration, particularly if your need crosses multiple departments (Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, Finance, Marketing, etc.). Finding anyone who can state policy or procedure beforehand is impossible, which makes simple tasks like moving from one level of care to another an endless series of unpleasant series of surprises, delays, and expenses.

When it was time for mom to enter assisted living, we looked at all of the options in the area. Plymouth Place stood out as the best from the very beginning and it has exceeded our expectations. She has been there for several months and the care has been exceptional, starting with the skilled nursing and progressing to the assisted living floor. The fact that it is a non-profit makes it a very mission driven community and that shines through in the way the residents are treated, the pride that is taken in the physical surroundings, the nourishing and appetizing meals, and the vast array of activities for residents. We are delighted that mom is a part of this community and highly recommend it to others who are looking for an exceptional place that will honor their loved ones.

Our mother suffered a significant health issue requiring months of rehabilitation. When she was in acute rehab it became clear mom would need to move into an assisted living environment. We looked at many fine facilities. When we found Plymouth Place there was no question where we wanted mom to live. Upon her arrival she immediately fell in love with the facility and more importantly the talented and empathetic team of professionals. To be honest, we think mom may be getting more social opportunities than when she was living on her own. She actually likes the food (she has exceedingly high standards and can be a bit picky.) As to the experience the family has, I can attest to the exceptional professionalism and commitment we have seen at every level from the youngest server in the dining room to the CEO. I wish we could give Plymouth Place 10 stars.

Plymouth Place in LaGrange Park has been a great home for my Dad. He was able to re-kindle friendships in the community where he raised his family. It is a wonderful, friendly and inviting atmosphere with roomy apartments. There are multiple common spaces available for socializing with fellow residents and spaces available for private parties. In the warmer weather, my father explored the beautiful and well maintained grounds. There are many live musical concerts and special events to keep active and engaged. He was able to frequent the LaGrange down town area which is situated 1 block away. The building offers an indoor swimming pool, library, wood shop, large dining room for dinner, on-site barber shop, coffee shop, gift shop, heated indoor garage parking and an ATM. I know he is safe and happy in his home and surroundings. Thank you Plymouth Place!

Making the move to Plymouth Place has been an excellent decision. I moved in at 72 so I could enjoy the best of both worlds...my world before Plymouth Place and my world at Plymouth Place. This graduated care community meets my long and short term needs as well as providing a wealth of new friends and activities. During my research I investigated five similar places both in the LaGrange area as well as the Wheaton/Naperville areas where I had lived for over 45 years. Additionally I read up on several other places as well. The bottom line reasons for my choosing Plymouth Place are the services it provides, the fact that it is a non-profit well run organization, its location “ walk to downtown La Grange, to the train etc, and the variety and quality of care provided. The resident population here is amazing. I have met and become acquainted with people who have enormous talent, hobbies, skills, and enjoy laughter and fun. The fact that one chooses to move into a graduated care facility doesn’t mean a lower quality of life - if anything it is an interesting new chapter with new friends. There are very few activities that one can’t find here. Crafts, theatre, movies, trips (both in the area and abroad), programs (professional and resident talent), volunteer opportunities in a variety of ways, fitness programs that can be designed for the individual or group classes are just a few of the many interests one can pursue here. The staff here is more than capable and willing to help with most anything. They are professional as well as friendly and down to earth. Whatever issues Plymouth Place may face, it is good to know the Board and staff are working in our best interests. Do we agree on all of the issues “ no, but there is a sense that residents are very much a-part of the decision making process. All in all, it is a pleasure to be part of this community and a comfort to know that my current and future needs will be met. That is important to me since I have no children and do not want my nephews and niece to bear the burden of my care. I highly recommend Plymouth Place.

Nice looking facility, but appears to discriminate against Medicare patients (on rehab floor) - accepting only those that they can make a lot of $ on via Medicare lump sum payment option (those that they can get in and out quickly). Facilities that are focused on profit at the expense of healthcare should be dropped as Medicare providers in my opinion.
