A special shoutout to Christine, the social director who keeps the residents busy all day. Mom is never in her room. Whether it’s IBeth or Chanel, Maya or any of the other very capable caregivers- I know my mom is in good hands.

My mother moved into Arbor Terrace”Highland Park a few months ago and became friends with a number of the other residents. Our family threw her an off-site 80th birthday party this past weekend and wanted to include these new friends. I contacted Jocelyn Newhall to help me figure out how to arrange for the invitees to attend. Jocelyn went to work contacting families and arranging for transportation, as well as a caregiver to help so they could attend the event. I am so glad everyone was able to attend, without Jocelyn’s help their attendance wouldn’t have been possible. Ultimately, she arranged for Christine Kumar to support the Arbor Terrace residents attending the event. Christine was very attentive to each resident and integrated them into the party. She seamlessly not only supported the attendees but also stepped up help my mother get around to greet the many attendees. She always had a smile on her face and helped make the overall event successful. She is a real asset to the residents of Arbor Terrace.

We have had the privilege of visiting Arbor Terrace Highland Park over the past four years, and my son and his fellow musicians have often performed for the residents. Every visit has been such a meaningful experience. The community is warm, friendly and vibrant - the residents are always so welcoming and supportive. Performing for them is a joy. The staff is equally remarkable - they are kind, attentive, and care deeply about the residents' well-being. Morgan has been especially wonderful - he puts great thought into bringing engaging and meaningful activities to the community. My mother has lived at Arbor Terrace for over 2 years now. Initially it was a difficult transition for her but she has settled in well. Thanks to the Arbor Terrace programing/activity staff. I've been very impressed by the facility and staff at Arbor Terrace in Highland Park. They have all taken an active role in care for/with our family. The residents are friendly and welcoming. The building has all the amenities needed including a lovely view and a convenient location. Most importantly, the leadership team including Jocelyn have been trusted advisors through various care situations. Sylvia has also been heavily involved with our family and has brought a calm demeanor and educated experience to planning and transitions. What an exceptional faculty. The staff is top notch. Yaya, Jocelyn, Rachel and a list goes on. The employees become like family while your family member resided here. Arbor Terrace is a special place and will always hold a dear spot in our hearts. If you have the option to be a Arbor Terrace resident you are lucky. One thing that needs to be resolved. We had a staff member steal an iPad from our family members room. How can this be resolved?

For more than 25 years, I have been an entertainer for dozens of senior living venues throughout the Chicagoland area on an ongoing basis(3 - 4 times annually at each venue). Among the best(if not THE BEST) that I have seen during my career is Arbor Terrace in Highland Park. Every time I visit to perform for their residents, I'm struck by how bright and clean it is and how happy the residents are! The conscientious staff has a great work ethic and is very well-organized, highly professional and pleasant. They are truly dedicated and attentive to their residents' needs and constantly demonstrate that they take their work seriously. Indeed, it is obvious that they deeply care about their seniors(which is very refreshing compared to the apathy I often encounter at many other senior living venues). Suffice it to say that I highly recommend Arbor Terrace Highland Park to anyone seeking a wonderful, caring home for their loved one(s)!

A special shout out to Sheri who oversees the front desk & the residents requests - she has gone overboard in assisting me with any request to make my aunts life easier and I am truly grateful for her assistance. My father's initial reluctance at moving out of his condo is a distant memory. Arbor Terrace has been a godsend in terms of giving him others to socialize with and giving us the peace of mind to know that he is in good hands when we are traveling. I recently toured this assisted living facility and loved the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were kind, the place was spotless, and the residents seemed genuinely happy. It felt very home-like and gave me confidence that this is a caring environment. Arbor Terrace, Highland Park has such a beautiful community! The residents are friendly and engaged and it’s so beautiful there. The staff is so attentive and loving. Truly a unique special place! I am grateful to teach gentle yoga stretches, strengthening and positive mindset to the group and see social media engagement highlighting community togetherness and wellbeing. Their staff prompts all residents to come together to join in daily movement classes which are filled with participants eager to move their bodies and elevate their well-being, health, and connections! The staff creates fun ways to keep the community engaged and healthy! I had the pleasure of touring Arbor Terrace in Highland Park, and I was truly impressed. Jeff Altschul, the Director of Sales, was warm, professional, and clearly connected with the residents, greeting many by name and with a genuine smile. The community is thoughtfully designed with abundant natural light, especially in the memory care area, which features soaring ceilings and a spacious, sun-filled layout. During my visit, residents were actively engaged in chair aerobics before heading to a bright, welcoming dining room for lunch. The grounds are beautifully manicured with ample outdoor space, offering residents peaceful and inviting areas to enjoy nature.

This was the 3rd time my wife and I were responsible for moving an elderly parent from independent living to "Assisted Living". As many of you are aware by now, moving a loved one is exhausting and at times overwhelming. The research, site visits, assessments, on top of dealing with your loved one and other family members can be extremely stressful. Which is why I am giving this review for Jeff Altschul and Arbor Terrace Highland Park. We visited 10 potential sites and Arbor Terrace was on our list. Unfortunately, while Highland Park is close to us, Arbor Terrace Highland Park was not close to other family members, nonetheless we visited several times, brought our step mother to visit and met with Jeff Altschul numerous times. Jeff is a good person. He was available to us 24/7 and was extremely honest about the status of our loved one, costs and future care needs. As it turned out, Highland Park was just too far geographically for some family members so we ended up signing a lease with Arbor Terrace Glenview, instead of HP. Going to Arbor Terrace Glenview never would have happened but for Jeff's patience, compassion,. and honesty which gave us peace of mind as we reflected on what would be best as a community. If Arbor Terrace corporate has staff like Jeff, they are doing something right! Hats off to Jeff Altschul! PS: So far so good at Arbor Terrace Glenview.

I wish I can say more than I could describe how Arbor Terrace Highland Park is one of my top picks to service transportation. Every time I transfer a new resident from another facility, they are very sincere welcoming the new residents. When I ask residents how they like Arbor Terrace HP, all they give is positive feedback. So I share it to the newcomers. The last resident I transferred to Arbor Terrace HP ” when I told her she’d love it there and feel at home, she appreciated it and was glad to know. She didn’t have a good experience from her previous facility and it made her nervous to be in a new one. Overall, spectacular service given by staffs!

I have nearly three years of experience dealing with all facets of Arbor Terrace (AT) and I’m here to give you an honest appraisal. My ~90 year old aunt and uncle initially lived there together in a one bedroom apartment. My aunt progressed to the memory care unit and passed away after almost a year there. My uncle still lives there in a studio apartment. My wife and I have visited the place dozens of times, have eaten the food there and interacted with all of the senior staff (sales, billing, nursing, maintenance, dining) as well as several of the nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and other staff. Like all of these facilities, Arbor Terrace has good and poor aspects, so be careful of glowing reviews that suggest the place has no problems. The staff are friendly and the food is very good, but these things cannot mask their significant problems when it comes to retaining quality staff and accountability when things go wrong. There have been four different directors of nursing in the time we’ve been there. The CNA staff come and go and often times are temporary hires through local agencies. The facility often seems to be understaffed and the needs of residents can go unmet for hours to days. The senior staff at AT do a poor job of managing their staff and when problems arise, rarely take responsibility or find permanent solutions. There is always an apology and an explanation for lapses in care quality, but the promises to do better are rarely kept for more than a few weeks. My advice is be careful when you read glowing reviews of these facilities because under the hood, things are not as rosy as they seem on your first visit. In the interest of keeping this as short as possible, I have only given you a broad overview of our experiences. I haven’t given you the specific details of the problems we and others have had, but I certainly could, and I will in future reviews if I think it has a chance of improving the care quality for all the residents at AT.

Arbor has a WONDERFUL staff! They are friendly, caring and kind. The decor is beautiful and my mom's apartment is everything she wanted it to be. The services and amenities are awesome. This was the 6th and last Memory Care (MC) facility I visited in the surrounding suburbs. I left my initial visit at Arbor Terrace confident that this is the place for my mom! I was grateful that, with very short notice, Jeff (community director) and Kate (program director) spent more time than I could have expected showing me around the community. More impressive than the small, warm, bright, clean environment I experienced, was observing the positive interactions staff and residents were having with each other. I witnessed both Jeff and Kate interacting with several residents on a very personal level and they were able to bring a smile to the faces of people struggling with confusion and frustration. There were happy tears on this tour! 🙂 As difficult as this process is (placing a parent in a MC facility), Jeff and Kate made me feel a sense of comfort knowing my Mom will be taken care of since I can't do it any longer. 🙁 I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Arbor Terrace and the staff I have already met! From the moment we walked into Arbor Terrace, we knew it was the place for my Grandma! The staff is so nice and welcoming! My grandma absolutely loves living there! She has made so many friends and she feels right at home! In addition, the food is amazing! We were just there for Mother’s Day and the frittata was one of the best I’ve ever had! I give Arbor Terrace a million stars!!!

Absolutely gorgeous place- they treated us with such great respect and were so helpful when we needed last minute housing for my dad. Jeff and his team were so caring and made us feel at ease. Arbor is GORGEOUS, staff is friendly, My dad doesn’t need much assistance but when he does they come running. There is a lot of happiness, activities, food is great, his room is nicer than my house (lol), it’s cheerful and doesn’t feel in ANY way like assisted living. I’m so incredibly relieved and indebted to this entire crew for giving my dad a safe and beautiful environment to call home.

I have been living in AT since February. The concierge staff has been wonderful with my everyday needs. They are always so friendly. They always have a smile on their face, They always exceed my expectations especially when delivering packages to my apartment. SHERRY and DOMINIQUE are so special. In the dining room, DESTINY is beyond wonderful. She remembers all my likes. She knows exactly what I love to eat. She is always sweet and lovely. I look forward to seeing her whenever I come into the dining room. Arturo is also very special. But since my memory is not always up to par, I would appreciate the employees wearing large-print name tags! I’m sure I would be able to recommend many more of them. I appreciate the staff that make our beds, do the laundry, do the housekeeping and much more.

We moved my Mother to Arbor Terrace Highland Park in early 2022. I am glad to share my positive and heartfelt experience. Like most elderly people, my Mom was scared to move from her home to a senior living community. The entire staff at the Arbor are so kind, caring and welcoming. I have tremendous gratitude and admiration for this exceptional Senior living facility. It all starts with the staff, and at Arbor Terrace they are compassionate, kind and dedicated. Director, Christopher Dale truly cares about the families and his understanding and warm personality radiated from the top down. I literally can't imagine a better place for my Mom. With regard to the staff, the moment you walk in you're greeted by Sheri or Dominique, two lovely woman that will do anything for you. Then the dining room, the chef is superbly friendly and aims to please. The attending nurses and CNA's make sure my Mom feels cared for and at ease. They take great care of her every need. Suzanna is the head nurse, she's truly the best. Although my Mom is 97 and doesn't participate in activities that much, there's no lack of things to do. The community areas are vibrant and engaging, encouraging residents to socialize, connect, and participate in various activities and events. Finally, Arbor Terrace is very clean and organized. You feel like you're at a fine hotel! Thank you to all staff at Arbor Terrace, our lives are so much better because of you, I rest easy knowing my Mom is well cared for at all times!!

I recently toured an assisted living facility, Arbor Terrace, in Highland Park, Illinois, and I must say that I was impressed. The facility was beautifully designed and well-maintained, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and it was evident that they truly cared about the well-being of the residents. Arbor Terrace Highland Park is brand new, clean, and convenient. Staff are friendly & attentive -- they check on residents regularly and often remember visitors by name. Jeff Altschul in particular was a gigantic help in my mother's transition to her new residence. Rooms are modern and bright, with well-designed bathrooms and closets. Special activities are held regularly. An automated process makes it easy for visitors to check-in and out. Food service and nursing support are excellent. Personal 24-hour call buttons provide an added sense of security. We studied many options -- including nursing home care and continuous assistance at home -- and we visited numerous other facilities, and this was by far the best. Most importantly, mom has thrived since she moved in. With the assistance of local family and others, she actually gets out and about as often as ever.

Arbor Terrace is a warm, welcoming environment where residents are treated attentively. The staff are all friendly and take the time to know family members. They stop and say hello to everyone. People are always gathered in common areas visiting or joining in on actives. The location is close to places that are familiar to mom, and that was important. They care about preserving a sense of independence while offering the level of assistance mom needs.

My parents were the first residents to move into Arbor Terrace Highlad Park, and they remained happy with their decision. They felt it was important to be in the community where they raised their family and live in for six decades. They could see Sunset Park from their window. The staff at Arbor demonstrates a combination of warmth and professionalism. The nursing staff show individual concern for each resident. And James, the head chef works hard to prepare creative meals. If you want your family member to move to assisted living in the Highland Park area, a visit to Arbor Terrace will be worthwhile.

Arbor Terrace HP is a great place for mom. She now has nice friends right down the hall and socializes much more than when she was at home alone. The staff are super friendly and the place is very clean. She is happy there and we sleep better at night knowing she is safe. Jeff Altschul did a good job making mom feel welcome!

I am beyond impressed with Arbor Terrace Highland Park. The energy is upbeat. The staff is professional, approachable.and helpful. The residents are happy and friendly as well. They offer many activities for residents to have fun and be social. The food is high end. Apartments are spacious with lots of light. The facility is new, very clean. It’s Beautiful. My Mom moved in to Memory Care. She’s enjoying her life. I have piece of mind knowing she’s safe and happy.

I recently toured Arbor Terrace and I was impressed by its warm and homey feel! The staff were all so welcoming and the residence very friendly. I enjoyed seeing how the residence were taking advantage of the activities offered that day or just chatting in a group by the fireplace. This is definitely a place I could see my loved one!

My mom is at the Memory Care unit at Atria and I can't say enough good things about the care she is receiving. The staff has been great Jessica who is the head of the unit, responds very quickly to any questions or concerns I have. My initial thought about memory care wasn't great and I was hoping my mom could stay in assisted living for a bit. But when Atria suggested that Memory Care was the better spot for her, they were exactly right. Living in Memory Care is like living in a house with other people. My mom has a beautiful unit which is a large bedroom with a nice entryway. We were able to move in a lot of her furniture. And she walks out her door and there she is in the living area with lovely furnishings, a huge tv, gorgeous fire place. There are also several tables that are used for socially distanced dining and activities. There is a kitchenette too The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that since the place is new, I feel like they are still having some organizational/communication issues. I'm sure they will be on track soon. I highly recommend.

We took a virtual tour as my family is looking to move my grandmother in soon. The sales director and staff were very accommodating and answered all our questions. It is great to have a nice and new facility close to the rest of my family.
