I moved my mom into Brookdale this summer. The whole experience has been easy, professional, friendly, and amazing. The facility is immaculate and has basically everything that you could imagine to make life interesting and fun at a senior-living facility. There are tons of activities every day and there is a daily bus for shopping at some of the local stores like Kohls, Target, Jewel and Walmart. There are medical professionals who come on site weekly and monthly. And the food is really really good. Like, unexpectedly good for a facility that has to feed so many people every day. Finally the staff is fantastic. Everyone from the marketing people that you meet when you are first looking at the facility to the people in charge of cleaning, in-room service, activities, transportation, and food. Everyone is friendly, professional, and competent. Brookdale is the kind of place that all of us would be lucky to find ourselves living in, when we get to that stage.

I just had the most wonderful experience touring **Brookdale Glen Ellyn**”what a pleasant surprise! We stopped in for a tour and were greeted so warmly. Our guide, **Tim Martin**, was fantastic”knowledgeable, friendly, and really took the time to show us around and answer every question. We even had the chance to meet the **Director of Dining** and the **Chef** right there in the dining area, which was such a nice personal touch. They were both enthusiastic and happy to chat about the menu and how they prepare meals. And the food? Seriously impressive”we enjoyed a delicious lunch during the tour, and it was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It really gave us a true sense of what daily life there is like. The community itself feels welcoming and well-maintained, with a great vibe overall. If you're considering independent or assisted living options in the Glen Ellyn area, I highly recommend scheduling a tour”especially if you get Tim as your guide. It was a genuinely positive and enjoyable visit. So glad we went!

My parents lived at Brookdale Glen Ellyn for 2 years. All the staff knew their names. Their south facing apartment provided cheerful light all year. The dining experience is lovely. No dining dollars or calling ahead to reserve a time slot. A daily hot protein breakfast improved my parents' energy level significantly. I joined them for dinner monthly and thought the food was tasty without being too salty. Even though they said they would not participate in "activities," they became regulars at chair yoga and B-Fit classes. Brookdale allowed Hospice care in their independent living apartment with my Dad's hospital bed in one bedroom so they could be together when he passed away. The only thing I heard Mom complain about was heavy exterior doors difficult to navigate with her walker. We moved Mom to the Assisted Living floor but she only lasted 5 weeks before the staff determined she needed more care than they could provide. I learned that Assisted Living communities have many levels of care and while Brookdale's is excellent, it is limited, and we had to move her to a different facility. Overall, I had a very positive experience at Brookdale and highly recommend this community for your loved ones.

My parents moved to Brookdale Glen Ellyn 2 and 1/2 years ago, and they have settled in well! They have made many friends and are actively participating in a variety of activities from exercising to being in the large Brookdale choir. We feel incredibly grateful to have found Brookdale Glen Ellyn Senior Living for three of our loved ones, each with different needs (from independent living to assisted) and preferences. The staff is caring, conscientious, friendly, and hardworking. The facility is lovely inside and out, has delicious dining, and offers numerous varied activities and entertainment. Onsite hair salon, cafe, fitness, pool, library, gardening beds, PT, and visiting medical professionals ensure residents can have most needs met without leaving the property. Brookdale Glen Ellyn provides a very friendly environment, from both the residents and the staff. Members of the staff have been very friendly, and very helpful. Often the staff have provided opportunities for us residents that one would not expect. For example, they are preparing a Haunted House for Halloween that will be set up in the basement of our building. Some days the director of dinning services has made special desserts, such as Bananas Foster, to go with dinner.

We truly felt a sense of warmth and family during my mother's 1 year stay on the Assited Living Floor. We were only supposed to be there for a 90-day rehab stay, which turned into a full year. Throughout the stay, we experienced nothing but support and understanding of our unique situation and we truly felt that everyone there had mom's and our family's best interest as their priority of care and hospitality. My dad arrived several months ago after a difficult recovery from surgery made daily living difficult. At that time, he needed help with just about everything. The physical therapists here did miracles! He's now walking around the building and doing pretty much everything independently again. He has made many friends here. After living in their home in Lombard for 50 years, the transition was amazing. They both were warmly welcomed, found activities that suited both of their likes, and enjoyed all of the ongoing entertainment provided. After my dad passed away, my mom was already comfortable there, and had developed friendships which helped in being alone after 65 years of marriage. She has now been a resident for almost 8 years, and cannot praise the entire staff for the time, effort, and respect that is given to each individual. The services provided at Brookdale Glen Ellyn were nothing more than outstanding. My Mother was cared for in a complete compassionate way. Although she was not a long time resident everyone seemed to know my Mother and welcomed her with open arms. As a family member I know she was very happy at Brookdale and I witnessed how the residents seemed very happy living in such a wonderful facility. All the staff and management were very professional and great to work with. A big shout out to the Brookdale Nursing Aids who we're at my Mothers bedside 24/7 as her health declined and we had to move her into Hospice Care. We were completely satisfied with our experience. Everyone in the facility was great to work with from the Maintenance Staff to the Hair Dresser and all the other folks who work behind the scenes like the folks in the kitchen who cut up her roast beef dinner into small pieces so that she could eat the food a little bit easier. We are very happy as a family and will endorse this facility for years to come.

We moved my Mom to Brookdale at the very end of Covid, after living in Oak Park for over 65 years. She was very excited to move close to us in Glen Ellyn, and begin socializing and making new friends after my Dad had passed 1 year prior. She originally moved into independent living and the transition could not have been smoother, unfortunately due to a fall (no fault of Brookdale) she needed to transition down to Assisted Living. She unfortunately was unable to enjoy so many of the social things that Brookdale offers, but was well cared for by a compassionate, competent, understanding and attentive team of nurses, caretakers, as well as Hospice. Brookdale is clean, good food, and does a wonderful job with laundry. My concerns and questions were always answered in a timely manner. The maintenance man was awesome and went above and beyond to troubleshoot and fix an issue. Brookdale is an ideal location for banking, shopping, walking around a beautiful park that's just adjacent to the facility, and also has a beautiful outdoor patio/garden where they host many social events and frequent live entertainment. I have recommended Brookdale to may people and all have been equally as happy.

My parents, like many I imagine, reluctantly moved in Brookdale Glen Ellyn in November 2022, insisting that they weren't "old". To say it has been a successful transition would be an understatement. We were originally concerned that Brookdale would be a place they slept and they'd want to spend all their waking time at our house. The reality is they are busy every day! They've embraced the tours, outings and events that Brookdale coordinates and are always on the go. Friday afternoons are definitely off limits since we know they'll be at "Mix and Mingle"! The facility is gorgeous, the food is top notch, the on-site services are convenient and the employees are caring, responsive and engaging. My parents went from watching TV alone in their house all day to now having a new zest for life!

My parents moved to Brookdale a few years ago. During the pandemic I've been able to bring groceries, visit outdoors at first and in their apartment later, and pick them up at the door. Before the pandemic I was their frequent guest in the dining room. The meals served there are exceptional and the staff are friendly and helpful. Brookdale hosts entertainment and keeps clients busy with exercise and games. Since I have family at Brookdale I receive emails from Lisa Ulm who is Executive Director. For example these emails include updates about the pandemic, improvements to community tech and guidance regarding deliveries. Brookdale is a fine solution for seniors who continue to enjoy an active lifestyle.

My dad lived here until his passing at age 97. The staff and management team is wonderful. Super caring and compassionate. They were super responsive to his needs and our concerns. Having doctors coming into the community was a big time saver for our family. He had many friends here among the residents and they were really nice. There is a mix of physical and cognitive abilities in both independent and assisted living so no one feels out of place.
