The staff here are amazing. Every one of them go out of their way to make the residents and visitors feel welcome. This building is also very well taken care of and probably one of the cleanest facilities I have ever seen. I am very happy that my mother was able to come here. I highly recommend it. Thanks to all the staff that take care of my 100 year old mother. You're the best.

Hi, I am Mike Karen staying at Lee Manor was an excellent stay. The rooms that I stayed in felt like I was at a hotel the bathroom I had a shower and the and the room was big enough for two people if you needed somebody else to stay the staff is very kind from the cleaning staff to the restaurant environment. The food was very good. The only thing is I didn’t like the fish the CNA staff was wonderful. They always checked on on me and made sure how I was doing. I would like to say that the CNA’s made you feel like you’re at at home. . They’re nursing staff I would like to say they are wonderful. They helped me out and made sure I didn’t have pain during the day and always made sure I was OK when I want to rehab. The nurse nurses took care of you and made sure when you went to bed you would feel good when you woke up in the morning knowing that you’re staying at Lee Manor they have a rehab center that they are there to get you better they’re very very strong and make sure that when you leave you’re gonna feel healthy for the next journey. I would like to say that they have a good activity staff activity. Staff is always doing something to keep the residence Too. The patients that are only here for a couple weeks they make it fun and it’s never boring. The last thing I would like to say is that Lee Manor was the best experience I had again the staff made me feel so comfortable that the day I left I was in tears that I had to leave. it was hard for me to leave because Leigh Manor Like they were part of your life Thank you, Mike Herron

Our social worker Heather has been wonderful. She goes above and beyond for her patients and she is very caring and loving. She was very dedicated to making an impact on Alex's life. We can't say enough wonderful things about Heather. I wish she was working at Lee Manor years ago and we appreciate all she has done.

I looked at 12 nursing homes for my mom. It's gut wrenching doing these tours. I ran out of 2 places that smelled like pee, and was brought to tears by 4 and was at my wits end. Then I found Lee Manor, a privately run facility. As I toured I found out this person was here 18 years, that one for 12 years, another staffer for 24 years, this one 10 years. In my mind that said A LOT! The staff has a huge sense of pride in what they do. The place is spotless! They even have their own Maintenance Department! The pride continues even in the Laundry Department! I forgot to put labels on a few of my moms pants and went down to the Laundry Department. Man, do they have their act together down there! The wealth of knowledge continued in the administration department too! They take care of all of the Medicare/Medicaid paperwork recertifications and navigate that whole hell scape for you! I've read the negative reviews about Lee Manor. I hate that people have weaponized the trauma and emotions they are going through with their loved one and take it out on Lee Manor. Nobody wants their loved one to be in a long term care facility. Trust me when I tell you as sad as it is that my Mom is in a Long Term Facility, Lee Manor has allowed me to finally breathe. They lifted a huge weight off of my shoulders and mom is safe and well cared for. It's all done with grace and dignity. I still cry, I only have one mom, and don't want her to go but I know she is in good hands.

I wanted to share my experience as its very hard to find a trusting nursing home since covid. I was a surveyor in Illinois so know to well that the ratings that are given on google are done by angry residents or family members. My mother in-law broke her hip and she is 94 years old. We currently live in Florida and I was very worried as I don't know the nursing homes anymore. I reached out to my colleague who worked for the state of Illinois for many years and she recommended this place. I will eternally be grateful to Jay administrator and Helen Director of Nursing for the care they gave my mother in law, who is now recovering and getting back to health. I appreciate there help and rapid response to my concerns. The staff was very caring and attentive to my mother in laws needs. She was kept safe, clean and happy. Thank you and your staff for all your hard work and understanding. If I can give anyone a word of advice as a State surveyor, please if you have concerns with care or questions talk to Jay or Helen, and they will definitely address the issues quickly and they will follow up with you. The facilities can not fix problems if they are not aware of them. Use your grievance (complaint) process through the facility to ensure your love one is taken care of. I thank the staff for the outstanding care they gave my mother in law and forever will have the facility in my prayers and blessings. On behalf of our family, thank you for such wonderful care. Maggie 🙂

My mother in law (a Lee Manor resident) says she is so very appreciative of the wonderful staff especially Gracie and Patricia who take such good care of her every day. She also says the food service is very good and the facility is so clean. Our family is very thankful for Lee Manor!

I can’t thank the entire staff at Lee Manor enough for the care I received over the last three weeks. The entire team runs like a fine tuned machine. The nurses and the the CNAs, the dietary team and the social workers are so passionate about their work that it truly shows. it is a team that is way overworked and way underpaid and under appreciated. they put their heart and soul into the love of their ability to help people and make a difference. I can’t say enough about how often the housekeeping cleans up on a daily basis in every way. the place is spotless and the supplies are always fully in stock. the speech therapy and social working team has only one purpose and goal in mind and that is to help you. And Finally, when it comes to the PT and OT it is a first class operation. the people who work with you on a daily basis are very knowledgeable and they are very thorough. They are firm but fair and they truly care about you as a person and your progress and recovery. They are the nicest most compassionate caring people I have ever encountered in this industry and I have dealt with so many different places in my 63 years on this earth. If you want the best place for your care with the best and nicest most caring people check out Lee Manor. They are unparalleled in this field.

I must say my husband and I made the right decision by bringing my dad to Lee Manor. I been to few places in Desplaines and they were not responsive or clean but soon as I went to Lee Manor the staff just impressed us. We had great feeling and we shifted my father here. I must say since we brought him to this nursing home all the staff from cleaning crew, food, nurses, administration, social worker and PT, every single person was there when my dad needed them. The rooms are big and spot clean. I am so amzaed with the service and patience they have provided. I would highly recommend this nursing home is best in Des Plaines area. Thank you everyone at Lee Manor who worked hard to make patient feel at home.

There are many good people working to do their best; however, upper management are devious people having goals that ignore the purpose of a nursing home making things difficult for the staff to do the excellent work they are capable of. There are a certain segment of staff who are also devious because they want, and enjoy, being buddies with the devious managers. Their influence would greatly diminish once the managment was replaced by good people. Unfortunately, residents, and their loved ones, are not fully aware of the many disfunctions at the heart of the facility. The owners don't seem fully cognizant of what is happening either; if they are, they don't seem to care. Many key people have either quit or been let go because they don't like what is happening within the organization and the effect on all aspects of operations. The unpleasantries are many and varied. While they proudly hang plaques of self-congratulations, the leadership work in ways that tear apart what remains of the ficticious and weak accolades. Eventually the place may only esthetically appear nice, but under the surface the poor in-facility leadership, along with the sick and disconnected corporate influence, are ripping things apart. With the right leadership, the right vision and operating philosophy, Lee Manor would be once again the superior care-giving organization that a past owner worked hard to make it. Find a better place for your loved ones, or be prepared to watch closely and participate to ensure that your loved ones receive the care they deserve. If you complain to the staff, you'll be yelling at symptoms of bad management. Remember most Nurses/CNAs/cleaing staff/kitchen staff/etc. are doing their best and they don't create the way the place operates. (Yelling at them changes nothing of the real problems.) Go to upper management, and don't listen to their nonsense excuses or blaming of staff. Make management, the corporation, and, ultimately, the owners the focus of your attention. (What they will do, at first, is yell at staff as scapegoats - to change appearances - but change nothing of substance.) That's how managers, corporate, and owners operate - and why things won't get better until they themselves change (or are replaced). Focus on the people who make the big decisions in order to get the best care for your loved ones.

I went to Lee Manor initially for short-term physical therapy following knee replacement surgery. Unfortunately, I needed additional IV antiobiotic infusion therapy for a separate infection. The physical therapy was, in my opinion, excellent! The PT Staff really put me through my paces! The Doctors, Nurses, Aides and other Staff treated me like family! I had absolutely no Covid worries. The entire Staff followed all Covid protocols! The Housekeeping Staff sterilized everything from the floor to the ceiling! I would definitely recommend Lee Manor to anyone!

My wife Barb was shuttled between Lee Manor, Lutheran General and various follow up appointments for months. Lee Manor was attentive to her numerous needs and treated her with respect and dignity. She now has other issues that will soon require her to be back in a skilled nursing facility for a long term stay. Lee Manor will be my choice. Remember, NOTHING is ever good enough for those we love. But Lee Manor will do their absolute best.

My mother was a resident of Lee Manor for eighteen months and we were completely happy with the care she was given. The staff soon became extended members of our family and we always knew she was in the care of competent, capable and compassionate hands. The nurses were never too busy to answer a question or hesitate to contact us if any concerns arose. It is never easy to watch a love one pass but the staff handled my mother's passing with grace and kindness. I would not hesitate to recommend Lee Manor. Marybethe Kelly

My uncle was at home in hospice. As his health declined we were desperately searching for a nursing home. Our hospice team informed us they were having trouble finding someplace to take him due to a benefit issue. Then we got the call that Lee Manor accepted him. I called Michelle in admissions to make an appointment. She made herself available the next day so they could quickly admit him. At our meeting she spoke to us like family instead of a paycheck. She walked us through the process and was extremely compassionate. Although his time there was short, everyone we had the pleasure of working with was exceptionally courteous and remarkably caring. If ever needed, I would choose Lee Manor for my own health care needs.

Initially, I was told that Lee Manor was "one of the good ones". If that's the case we, as humans, are not doing right by our loved ones. My husband was a hospice resident here for about 6 months. Most of the nursing staff was very nice/helpful. Had a few problems with a couple of the CNA's. Most of the problems were due to a language problem. Social Services Dept. Manager was absolutely terrible. I asked for a meeting between the Social Worker from Hospice and the Social Worker from Lee Manor so my husband's situation could be explained so the staff taking care of him would better understand him and his actions. The Manager of Social Services actually came into the meeting to let Lee Manor's social worker know that this meeting wasn't "necessary or approved". Her lack of caring was disgusting. Mark, one of the owners, could also use some people skills. It would be a bigger benefit to both the residents and employees than bringing your "therapy dog" to work with you. They really need additional staff here. The staff has a tremendous responsibility and things fall through the cracks. The first floor is the "show". If you are thinking of putting a loved one here, ask to see all floors. Trust me, you'll be looking elsewhere.

We chose Lee Manor for our 86 year mom for inpatient Rehabilitation after her second hip replacement- the nursing and therapy staff were wonderful! They treated mom and our family like WE were part of their family. Mom stayed for three weeks and came home walking independently. She was really pampered there. A year later, I unexpectedly had to have both hips replaced and didn't hesitate to arrange for my inpatient therapy to be at Lee Manor. The staff was very welcoming when I arrived for the first stay, but when I returned for the second hip replacement rehab later the same year, they made me feel like royalty! I was welcomed by some of the same nursing staff that had cared for me and my mom and I found everyone to be just as attentive as the previous stays. The Physical Therapy staff is great and the newly remodeled department is state of the art! I received one on one attention from a dedicated therapist 2-3 times/day and walked out after 11 days with minimal cane use! The nurses on the Day and PM shift were very timely with pain meds or if you had questions. This is a great place for rehabilitation, but the long term residents appear to be just as well cared for and happy in this just like home environment! Their motto should be " Care better than home"! Thanks to Mavis, the residents' daily dose of "sunshine" and the great family who owns Lee Manor- don't change!

Greetings Mr. McNiff, I just wanted to share with you what a wonderful staff you have. My mother-in-law recently spent a few weeks with you prior to her passing. Mom was in hospice, and as I work in an ICU and see this type of thing all the time, and I was impressed by your caretakers (that is NOT easy to do). I found your staff helpful, thoughtful, caring and very, very attentive. It certainly made those last few weeks, more comfortable to me knowing she was very well attended to. Especially helpful were Dominick and Melvin who cared for her on several occasions. They were always there to listen and try to accommodate what I asked for with moms care. They were the best. Please share a special word of appreciation with them. Regards, Tudy Hodgman Magnuson

My mother has been a resident of Lee Manor since July of 2012, She has received excellent care from every one of her nurses and CNA's, and I am very impressed with Luigi, who is her evening nurse almost every day. One of my mom's main problems is that she contracts frequent UTI's, and earlier this week, she spiked a slight fever and complained of some problem with urinating. Luigi took her temperature right away, and she was slightly elevated....therefore he called the doctor immediately, and got her started on anti-biotics. He is very cognizant of my mother's needs and her classic symptoms; and I commend him highly for not waiting and catching this infection before it got worse. I could go on about all the CNA's that take care of her, Fatima, Jackie, Hector, Alex, Leticia...please know that they go above and beyond to meet my mom's needs; which at times can be overwhelming, but they never complain, and call her "mama"...I sleep easily knowing that she is being taken care of appropriately. What I love most about Lee, is that I am always greeted by so many of the staff by my first name, and I actually feel like I am part of the Lee Manor Family; from Ellen, to Jackie, to Mark S. and Zeny in the accounting dept, to all of the social workers....I am very fortunate and blessed to have met such wonderful people. I know I am forgetting some people, but please know that I appreciate each and every person that I have met during my mom's stay at Lee. She still has a long road ahead, but again, I know that she is properly taken care of. Thanks! Shannon Rodriguez Mom--Joan O'Malley in room 313
