I have been visiting Randall Residence for over 2 years. The environment is friendly, clean and relaxed. Walk the halls and all the individuals are going about their day and staff are just steps away in the even something is needed. Memory care is an amazing place for our elders who need a bit of extra supervision and help topped with Love. Having a senior parent with dementia this is a wonderful place. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Never have I visited and passed a staff without a smile! Simply the best! Great Job Team Randall!

My Step Mom has been at Randall's Independent Living Center , Decatur, IL since August 2022. It was a very emotional move for my Step Mom. The Randal staff went above and beyond their job duties in helping Mom get comfortable in her new apartment. Several people were there to see Mom through the move and almost every day for the next 6 weeks - even after their work time was done. I cant say enough good about this facility!! My mother, a resident of Randall Residence of Decatur recently suffered a serious health event. Thanks to the professionalism, knowledge, and persistence of the nursing staff, this event was dealt with in a timely and efficient manner. What resulted in an extended hospital stay, could have easily resulted in her death had it not been for the staff at Randall. There have been many ups and downs during this hospitalization, but once again the people at Randall came to our rescue. Director, Beth Bolyard has been the source of guidance and education for a family having never dealt with something like this before; comfort and consolation when things were confusing and frustrating; and has gone out of her way to help, being available when needed and going out on her own to achieve what is best for my mother. Her advice has been sound, her concern genuine, and her expertise invaluable. When my mother moved into Randall Assisted Living many years ago I had no idea that the staff there would become a loving family and would consider us part of the Randall family. Randall Residence and their staff should be a prime consideration for anyone seeking a safe, and loving environment for their loved one.

We moved my mother to Randall Residence in May and could not be happier about our decision! Beth and her entire team went out of their way to make sure the transition for my mother and our family went as smoothly as possible. We are so thankful that we found a place where the staff truly cares about their residents and communicates with the family. There are certainly other facilities in the Decatur area that may offer similar services, but they can't offer the TLC that the staff at Randall Residence demonstrates every day!!!

Mom considered moving to independent living for several years and when the time came to leave home and gain the support and security of community, Randall was her first choice. She had considered other options, but knowing a few friends, being familiar with the neighborhood and liking the facilities - her next steps were easy. Kate spent numerous hours and visits to help mom make the decision and get comfortable with moving from her homestead. As mom’s needs have changed over the last year, Beth has been very supportive in care and comfort - suggesting options and steps to help with mom’s safety and happiness. Our family is thankful for Randall Residence and for the answer that senior living has provided for mom’s golden years.

From the facility to the staff we knew our mom was in a wonderful place. The staff is very attentive and caring from the front offices to the dining room. Would highly recommend this establishment if the need arises for you or a loved one.

At Randall, you are truly part of the family. My mom lived there for over four years before we moved her to be closer to me and my family. Throughout Mom's time at Randall, which included the height of the COVID pandemic, I knew she was well-cared-for and I never had concerns about her safety. As a child of a resident, I was able to develop a good relationship with the administrative staff, including Beth and Katrina. I always felt that I could call one of them if I had any questions or concerns or needed to discuss anything. They all knew and cared for Mom as if she was, as I said at the beginning, one of their own family. Beth has even reached out since Mom moved away, just to check in on her. That, I believe, speaks to the genuine fondness they have for her. If I could have picked up Randall and moved it, instead of moving Mom, I would have done so. I would recommend anyone looking for a caring senior living facility to consider Randall Residence of Decatur.

My mom was so stressed, as although she's gotten some information and help for my grandmother she was still feeling pretty lost and overwhelmed She spoke with Beth B. at Randall Residence and she was such an incredible help. Beth just has so much knowledge and you can tell she truly cares. I spoke with my mom after she had spoke with Beth and you could just hear the relief in her voice. My Mother passed away this past February and my Father needed assisted living as he could not live at home by himself. Thankfully I was reconnected again with a previous DMH co-worker Beth Bolyard. Beth understood this was a very difficult time for me and I had a lot of decisions to make in a very short time as I live in Florida. Beth and Kate made the orientation process very easy and comfortable and was able to get Dad moved in by the end of February. He has a very nice comfortable apartment with a nice view outside. He enjoys the food, the staff and daily physical therapy which has helped him so much. I have great piece of mind knowing that Dad is in a great place.

We looked at several places for my mother in Decatur, and Randall Residence was a cut above the rest. Ultimately it was the way that both the residents and staff were very friendly and engaged when we took our initial tour. Once we decided on Randall Residence, the staff worked with us to make Moms move-in quick and efficient, and her apartment was in excellent condition when she arrived. It was the beginning of the pandemic and they made everything seamless, and I was impressed how quickly policy was put in place to help protect the residents. Everything about the facility is good: the food; the grounds, the staff, and the overall vibe. Everything is up to date and well-maintained. Id recommend Randall Residence of Decatur to anyone!

From our virtual tour to our window visits we are very pleased with all the happenings at Randall. It seems that customer service is just as important and taking care of our parents and it shows. Very disappointing outcome...and would not recommend. Kate (the admissions director at Randall) seemed wonderful. My family met with her in April and took a tour of the facility and were very pleased. We had our parents all set to move into the Assisted Living section in the summer of 2021 (we had hoped) and they paid the required $500 deposit. They were placed on a waiting list starting in April 2021. There was a room immediately available a few days later. None of us were quite ready to move them in just yet. So we waited. And waited. We were assured a room would be available soon. It was not. Now we are in the month of June. What Randall never told us at the initial meeting (and we didn't think to ask) was that all residents in the Independent Living section could move to assisted living BEFORE anyone else on the list. This situation just kept moving our parents down to the bottom of the list. They then encouraged us to move them into Independent Living so that they could move into Assisted Living faster, putting them up higher on the list. This would have also required us to move them twice. We declined. I specifically asked them not to come to make an assessment of our parents unless we were AT THEIR HOME, which Kate had agreed. They had already made several impromptu casual visits. I thought the visits were a good idea. I felt as if Kate was trying to make them feel included at Randall. She had called me at work several times to ask if she could stop by their home and she assured me that this visit, with just her nurse (and the nurses dog) was NOT an official assessment of their abilities. She mentioned that they were both just out and about, visiting another potential resident in the area, with the nurses little dog. I told her it was fine, that my parents loved dogs and would more than likely love a visit. This was the (3rd time?) she had been to visit. Within a day or two after this visit we were sadly informed that our Dad would not be welcome at Randall because he required too much care. The nurse, on what I was told was an unofficial visit, had gone ahead and made her "official" assessment when we were not present. She made the decision that our Dad could not live there. Dad was deeply hurt by this rejection. And maybe this was all just a coincidence, but he then started to decline rapidly. He would not eat or drink and had no will to live. He died on July 25th. Two days after he was buried, Kate from Randall called and said that they had a room open for our Mom. What a coincidence! We were dumbfounded. Nevertheless, Mom declined to live at Randall. My sister spoke to Kate and was told we should be entitled to a refund, which we did receive and felt we deserved. There is nothing I can really prove about this whole situation, but it seems shady. I am annoyed that they agreed to let my Dad move in at all, even at the initial visit in April, when he was there in a wheelchair. Perhaps they should do more than one assessment? I don't know what the answer is, and it isn't up to me to fix how they do business...But there is a saying about people that goes like this..."I may forget what you said, but I know how you made me FEEL." And our whole family feels this is a shabby way to do business. So, great for those folks who love Randall residence. We do not. I can only hope that no one else ever has to experience a similar situation placing their loved one in a facility. To our family, it was a colossal waste of time.

I have nothing but praise for the staff at Randall Residence Memory Care. My wife has been in their care for 4 months now. During the first 2 12 months I spent a lot of time with her because it was hard to let go after caring for her at home for a long time. I gradually cut back on my visit times as I saw the loving care she was getting. When the coved 19 lockdown began 6 weeks ago, I knew I didnt have to worry about her care. I had the pleasure of visiting Randall Residence when they were providing an open invitation for family members to eat with their loved ones. I have nothing but great things to say -as this was my first visit since my grandma’s 3 yr stay because I live out of state, I am so happy that my grandma is happy at that facility it makes my heart jump for joy. The food the facility provided was superb it was a true Thanksgiving dinner cooked by the staff. Although the dining room area could use some updating of its outdated wall paper it seemed invisible to me because what really mattered was that my grandma was so proud everything. She wanted me to meet her favorite staff and I can see why she loves them so much. It’s such a cozy family like environment; I can’t wait to go back this summer!

When we became unable to take care of ourselves, we decided to move to Randall Residence. We have been very happy here. Everyone is friendly, the food is good, they do our laundry, clean our apartment, give Carl his medication, and help us in anyway they can. They have a driver to take us to doctor appointments or other errands. They have an activity room where we go for exercise, crafts, games and sometimes movies. They have a beauty salon, and therapy if you need it. I told my sister about Randall Residence, and she moved in just down the hall. We would recommend it to anyone!

For 6 years my home has been a very comfortable, lovely apartment in an assisted living facility. I have a spacious living room, a large bedroom and an en suite bathroom. We are currently going through a renovation process, which is making the whole building brighter for all of us. Every effort has been made to be sure we residents are not too inconvenienced. The concern is that residents come first, and that purpose has not changed in 6 years. The best part of living at Randall Residence of Decatur is the great staff, who are so caring and loving. Randall Independent Living is the place I pick to be my home. After looking for almost a year at senior living apartments, Randall Residence of Decatur had everything I was hoping for. Plus, my friend Wayne was already living there. Karla, in their marketing department, was very informative, and took her time in explaining everything to me. She even invited me to have lunch with them. I felt they had a genuine interest in helping me determine what I was searching for in a new home. When I made my decision, I sold my RV, moved from Arizona, and moved right into my new home at Randall Residence. It is nice to be around people my own age. There are plenty of things to do. My favorites are picnics and band concerts. The food is good. The housekeepers are very thorough and always willing to help me keep my apartment clean. I have a nice garage for my car close by the main building, and when I don’t want to drive, there is always Randall’s bus or van to take me where I want to go. I like the idea that they are close to shopping, restaurants, and my eye doctor.

I think Randall Residenece of Decatur is a wonderful place. The staff is very professional but warm. The rooms are spacious and we liked that the residences have a full kitchen in them. We ate in the dining room and were pleasantly surprised. The food was great and the staff took our order just like in a restaurant. All of the people there were so nice. The dining room itself was nice too and had lots of windows. We liked that when we came into the facility, we were greeted with the small of coffee. Overall, we were very imipressed.

I am one of five siblings navigating complex senior-care issues for my Mother. When she lost her beloved husband, her physical & psychological health began to decline; her zest for life muted. After an extended stay in the hospital, Mom’s doctors recommended she go to an assisted living facility & the majority of sibs decided assisted living would be the best option for Mom at that time. I don’t live in the area so when I visited Mom, already a resident at RR, I met lots of people caring for & enjoying her. Most notable, it was the Administrative Director & the Director of Nursing who impressed me with their professionalism, patience, diplomacy & compassion. On my first visit to RR, the A.D. met me in the lobby with a genuine smile, strong hug & an invitation into her office where we chatted about my Mom’s situation. She encouraged my questions & provided honest, if difficult to hear, answers. She said I could call her at any time with any issue. I was comforted by her experience & knowledge as well as her genuine compassion for Mom & diplomacy for my family & for me. Her tact & professionalism during high-stress, emotionally-charged complicated times reinforced my comfort. I will be eternally grateful for the support she gave me during this vulnerable time. The Director of Nursing brought a ray of sunshine with her smile when she spoke of Mom. She reassured me that there was a team of professionals to help Mom get stronger. On several occasions, I witnessed The DoN go above & beyond, endearing herself to Mom thru her authenticity & obvious experience. When Mom was balking at getting out of bed, the DoN curled up next to her, stroked her forehead & patiently coaxed her out of bed & into the dining room for lunch w her pals! She would personally deliver a latte to Mom – exactly how she likes it! Always upbeat & positive, I was grateful to add her to Mom’s RR team roster! As with many families, I’m sure, not all sibs agree about what’s best for Mom 100% of the time & mine’s no different. The professionals at RR are experienced assisting families as they navigate the turbulent waters of senior care always keeping the health & well being of the senior as the number one priority. My experience with the professionals at Randall Residences have given me a solid foundation for any decision I make regarding my Mom’s care & with these experiences, I’m grateful to report, I feel knowledgeable, supported & very well prepared. My mother spent her final year here. She loved it . She loved watching birds in the courtyard and she loved how the staff assisted her whenever she needed anything especially when she didn't feel well enough to get to the dining area . She cared for all the residents and enjoyed meeting old friends there and making new ones . I have such happy memories of eating meals with her in the dining area and attending activities hosted by the residence staff .She loved how her apartment was cleaned and maintained as did I. She felt so safe and enjoyed trips to the library . I slept well that year because I knew every night that no one would break in and that if anything happened she had access to immediate help until I could reach her . I am so completely grateful for her year spent in this lovely place and for all the staff did to make it so joyful for us all .
