Paula was exceptionally helpfully and gave us a guide of the facility and the rooms you can rent. It's a beautiful community and the restaurant was exceptional. This is on the top of our list. I love working as an OT at the Fountain's in Crystal Lake. The staff are caring, the residents are happy, the food is great, and the daily activities are fun. Of all the assisted and independent living facilities that I go to in the Crystal Lake, Woodstock, and the McHenry areas; this is by far my favorite. This is the place that I recommend to my home health patient's in their homes when they are looking to move to a senior complex. There is a great mix of very independent residents and as more assistance is needed they can get just the right level of care. Every time I come here I feel right at home!

My husband and I attended the "Love is in the air" candle light dinner on February 10, 2023. The menu was amazing!! The 1st course which was the savory & sweet Bruschetta was the best bruschetta I've ever tasted! This appetizer will be a staple at all my parties! The tomato bisque soup was outstanding as well as the Romantic red salad. The main entrée of braised short ribs and mashed potatoes was the highlight of the dinner! The short ribs melted in your mouth along with the gravy that enveloped the whipped mashed potatoes. This spectacular meal ended with a trio of chocolate covered strawberries and coffee. Our compliments to the chef and staff of The Fountains in Crystal Lake. Also, id like to give a special shout out to Will as he was very instrumental in making this event a success.

The nursing staff is so patient and are really good at keeping contact with the family, addressing concerns and assisting the family with their care. I recently visited The Fountains for my mother and it was such a beautiful facility. The staff was welcoming and friendly. They answered all the questions I had. The surrounding areas outside and inside are so beautiful and cheerful. It is obvious how much they care about the well being of their residents. A lot of the residents know the staff by first name and they greet each other like they are old friends. I even saw some stop to say hello and check in with how they were doing. My Mom was placed in the memory care section (The Gardens) at The Fountains of Crystal Lake in July 2021. When she moved in, they installed new carpeting and painted her room. She had a very nice sized room and the staff was wonderful to her. From the management (specifically Joanne Arnolde) to the certified nursing assistants to the nurses to the people making the food, it was a wonderful experience. I would recommend it for anyone having to make the difficult decision of putting a loved one in a memory care facility. I did not worry about my Mom when she was there.

I give the Fountains a 2 for disappointment and heart break. My grandmother has been at the fountains for about 6 years now. She was originally in an apartment in assisted living. Everything seemed as great as they appear, however; it is now very clear that this was all an act due to the fact she used to have frequent visits from my mom, aunt, and myself pre-covid. It has always been the bad image from places like this that if you don't visit and don't pay attention the residents get neglected. I was sure this was untrue of the Fountains, up until the pandemic hit and the visits had to stop. Prior to covid my mother would do my grandmothers laundry just to make sure her clothes were changed and cleaned regularly solely out of love but also slight suspicion that it wouldn't get done. Unfortunately this suspicion lead to reality. Once COVID hit, we were not allowed to visit for obvious reasons. This is when the care went downhill. My mother was still doing her laundry and would pick it up bi-weekly which is what she was told she was allowed to do. The first time she picked up laundry in two weeks there were only 3 items of clothing to be washed! THREE ITEMS AFTER TWO WEEKS!!! We thought there may had been a mix up as this happened 3 pick ups in a row over the course of 6 weeks. We thought her laundry may have been being done by the caregivers. After being told no multiple times and filing a complaint, finally more laundry was being rotated. This was only the beginning, during the months of COVID my grandmothers care needed to increase according to her nurse. So we moved her to the 24 hour Memory care which increased her monthly payments. We agreed so they moved her to this memory care section. Once we were finally able to see her in person for visitation (masked of course) we began to notice her skin was very irritated and very dry. We supplied lotion and a different wash, and still no improvement. Just kept being told that it is being applied and done but no one could tell us who actually does it for her. It wasn't until recently that I have completely lost respect for this place and realized that neglect is clearly occurring. We were notified that my grandmother is on isolation due to having a cold and was awaiting her COVID test results. This is the norm being the circumstances; however we were told she is being locked in her room with no phone and no tv!!! (As they don't recommend these things in their rooms in the memory care unit). The nurse openly admitted that my grandmother was upset with the fact she couldn't leave her room and instead of taking the time to help calm her down (the time that we pay for 24 HOUR CARE), she closed her in the room and locked her in. The nurse also admitted that helping comfort her isn't part of the 24 hour care and we would have to pay extra for a separate service for that!! All I can say is I am completely lost for words, and we pay way too much money for this treatment. It is very heartbreaking and sad to see my mother and aunt get so worked up and lose hope from this place. I truly had better expectations and have talked extremely highly of this place to my patients and recommended the Fountains often. I will be sure to stand corrected and warn every person I have referred to this place of my experiences. Stay away!

Our family has been using The Fountains since 2009 when my in-laws moved in. In 2012, we moved my father into Assisted Living. My father recently passed away at the age of 88. My in- laws passed away in 2016 and 2018 at the age of 100 each. People make a facility. 99% of the staff was fully vested in our parents care right down to the wonderful employees who did the laundry. While it would be great if the rooms were handicap accessible and things were more updated, it is the staff that makes a facility such as this. Over the years, so many wonderful relationships were formed and I always felt if there was a problem, we were encouraged and welcomed to collaborate on a solution that was beneficial for our parents. No one plans for this phase of your life. Neither of our parents planned on ever needing assisted living or memory care. But, it happens. We toured other facilities before deciding on The Fountains and we do not regret those decisions. Everyones experience will be different because expectations are different. Our expectations were met and exceeded during our time. We are grateful.

At 93 years old, my mom was not safe to live alone in her home anymore. We chose to move her to the Fountains of Crystal Lake where she lived for over 3 years. As a nurse myself, I worked in several long term care facilities and I would highly recommend the Fountains of Crystal Lake. The environment is cheery, clean and I never noticed any odors. The entire staff was very friendly, caring and attentive to moms needs. I loved that every resident was given a medical alert pendant to call for help whenever they needed it. Several activities were available daily both on and off campus. The meals were served restaurant style with choice of entree and the food was very good. With the threat of Covid-19 the staff were heroes. They stayed. They stayed to do their jobs and they did their best to keep the residents safe from the virus.

This is a beautiful and well kept place. The staff is wonderful. Excellent customer satisfaction. Would recommend this place highly even in this pandemic. The food was great. Again the upper staff and really the whole staff very knowledge and listened and compassionate regarding my needs and parents needs. Trust them and again recommend them
